I've always heard of this movie and heard the song many times, but hadn't watched this movie until after Prince had passed away. If you're a fan of music, esp. of this time era & style, I highly recommend you get this on bluray.

Excellent movie for those who like Prince. I saw it back when it came out and wanted a copy.

One of my favorite movies from my youth. Best soundtrack ever! Great picture. Enjoyable extras, including music videos from key songs.

I'm a long time Prince fan!!! This DVD displays how Prince became the iconic star he was in music!!! Also, it offered the various songs off soundtrack plus added songs from Morris Day & The Time and Apollinia's group!!!

I have not viewed this recently; however, I did not have a DVD copy of it and I was very surprised that Best Buy had this on the shelf so quickly and at such a reasonable price - so, I bought it the moment I saw it!

I enjoyed listening to Prince music, so when he passed away I brought Purple Rain, he will definitely be missed. This movie is good I don't know how many times I seen it on tv you won't be disappointed with this movie and the price was great I am glad I was able to get a copy of this movie.

I grew up hearing about this movie but I never took the opportunity to watch it for myself. However because of the unfortunate passing of Prince, there was a sale on all things Prince at Best Buy store and I was able to get a copy. I don't know what took me so long to watch it but when I did, I enjoyed the heck out of it. It made me appreciate Prince even more.

This movie brings back memories from my teen years. It is good to see it on blu-ray. Very good sound and picture. A nice tribute to Prince since the stage performances were a lot like his regular concerts

I lean hard towards heavy rock but Prince is in my top few guitarists of all time. A great flick, can’t get enough Prince. Travelled to Paisley Park this year to pay respects. Great movie!

The story line and acting in the movie is awful but the musical performances by Prince are the best ever. Just skip the dialogue and right to the performances which make up about 90% of the movie.

Prince has proven in this movie that he can act as well as produce and play music. This musical tribute was an outstanding feather in his cap and now has everyone looking to see what he's going to do next.

What more can I say that hasn't already been said about this movie. Please don't make it about you make it about this moment of vision. The fact is it that good, to good to pass up. Now that's what is up.

I am a huge Prince fan and I still can't believe he is no longer with us. This is essential for any fan of his and/or that time period. Awesome soundtrack and the movie only enhances all those great songs.

Not a great movie but a classic. Maybe it is a great movie, just different... I don't know... I love this movie. Must be the music.

My wife was pretty upset when Prince died. We had this album at one point but got lost in the shuffle somewhere in life. Had to buy it for her again, we enjoyed cranking it on the stereo that night.

Prince's passing still affects me. Everywhere was sold out but Best Buy finally had copies on bluray. While I have not opened it yet, I have added this to my collection. RIP Prince Rogers Nelson.

Love the movie when it came out in the Summer of 1984. Great music with a good story line I feel the best of the Prince movies. Worthy to put in your movie collection. Iconic to say the least.

I am always a big fans of PRINCE music. He is a legend of of his time. I was saddened by the passing away of this amazing artist. He will always be remember for his Purple Rain movie!

The only movie I’ve ever been to that had the excitement of a live concert. These days people are crowing about “Bohemian Rhaspsody” But it is nowhere as good as this.

I love how you can find what your looking for at Best Buy. If it’s not in the store they’ll find it for you and ship it to you for free .
