Purple Rain is the album that introduced me to Prince, After hearing a few cuts on the radio, I went to see the film. I loved it! Then I bought every album that he'd done before it, saw the film many more times, and even went to see him in concert. My life was never the same after that. This reworking of the album includes the original album, a second disc of rare and previously unreleased cuts, a third disc of single edits and b-sides, and a DVD of his concert from March 30th 1985, What more could any Prince fan ask for?

It's great. Purple Rain and then some. The second disc is like another album's worth of tracks with the same vibe (I say 'like" a second album's worth because it has an extended version of "Computer Blue," also on the original). Disc 3 is single edits, dance mixes, and b-sides. The DVD is fun to watch, sounds better than bootlegs I've seen, but I reckon only so much can be done with the video itself.

Most likely you have heard this album in it's original format. If not, well, then you are missing out. But you surely have heard a number of songs off this album. But, this deluxe package really expands on the content. There are a lot of new songs on the extra discs that you almost assuredly have never heard. I can't imagine you won't enjoy many of these new offerings. There will never be another artist quite like Prince and never another album quite like Purple Rain.

Finally! A remastered deluxe package treatment for a classic album that has been needing it for far too long. The original album, unreleased music, all versions of singles (including the great 12" mixes) 'B' sides and a concert DVD from the Purple Rain tour that does not disappoint. Everything I wanted in a deluxe reissue is here. I highly recommend this version of the Purple Rain CD. 1999 and Around the World in a Day need this same loving thorough treatment.

Purple Rain is Prince's best album and this release makes it even better. From the original album remastered to the remixes included would have been enough, but the 2nd disc of previously released music is amazing as sadly we'll no longer get new music from a musical genius who passed much too soon.

What can one say about Purple Rain? Even rock lovers who dismissed the R&b and funk of the time seemed to dig this album. It bridged musical gaps and was very very popular as a result. Prince could write, sing and play everything. He could make that guitar squeal. So if you are or should be aware of this album, why repurchase? Because the bonus material ranging from outtakes, single cuts and b- sides is worth it. Go crazy all over again.

The sound quality of this remastered CD makes it a must buy purchase alone. The fact that you get 2 other CDs and a concert DVD is just an added bonus. The concert is from 1985 and is not up today's standards as far as production quality but the concert itself is epic and it is worth seeing for Prince is really on his game in this show. If you are a Prince fan this is a no brainer. Run don't walk to the store to buy this package.

I saw the movie and loved It and now i have the deluxe package with xtra tracks that you hear in the movie.And you also get to see Prince in concert doin his thing.The rare pictures in this package are classic throwbacks.I love this deluxe package and is true classic.I would Truly recommend all Prince fans to buy this and It is well worth it.

What can I say, one of the greatest artists of all times. In expanded form with a Live show? Does it get any better? I think not. The remastered album stands up well. While the vault songs are not up to the original, they are great to have. Well worth the money.

Sadly, this was the last piece of work prince worked on. And as expected, it was unbelievably amazing. The album that catapulted his career fully remastered. The bonus disc with unreleased tracks from the vault left me speechless. The cherry on top is the DVD which I had on VHS for many years. Definitely worth buying!!!!

I have been waiting over 25 years for the music on disc 2. Previously unreleased songs from The Vault. To hear them as they are actually intended to be heard, clear, crisp and sharp. As a long time Prince fan, I highly recommend this to any other fans out there. Treat yourself and enjoy his unreleased music.

"Purple rain" has been my favorite Prince lp since the day it was released.Have it on vinyl,then CD and now in this deluxe CD package. The remastering on this is supurb and makes a favorite even better.Add in the extra tracks and DVD and this becomes THE Prince reissue to own. Love it even better now.

This deluxe edition of Prince's magnum opus is a must for even the most casual rock fan.

A must have for Prince fans. Hope this release leads to more music and remasters from the vault. Wish it had all of the music from the movie (the songs by The Time, Apollonia 6, and Dez Dickerson). Also happy to have this concert on dvd after it only being available on VHS.

It already includes one of the best rock albums of all time remastered, but also includes all of the singles and a bunch of previously unreleased which add a whole new dimension to the works. Finally, the included concert film was a mid-80's gem that more can experience now.

If your are a true Prince friend you will appreciate this CD set. The DVD brings back old memories if you've ever attended a live concert in the 80's. Go out and get it.

All the Prince songs from Pruple Rain, finally in my library. The concert I lost on VHS I finally have on DVD after years of waiting in its release. It's bitter sweet the world of music lost a great artist!

This deluxe edition is fantastic. In addition to the classic album, it has incorporated all of the b-sides and single versions that I had on 7" and 12" singles growing up. The disc of unreleased material is good as well. Nice to hear some of the material from the vault.

Prince fans have been waiting, and it’s finally here! Unheard, unreleased tracks and full concert DVD... the DVD alone is worth the price of admission. If you’ve never seen the master live, after watching you will understand why he was/is an icon for the ages.
