When the speaker is turned on, there is a noticeable sound, like when turning on an old radio. When speaking into the wireless mic, the sound didn't come out of the speaker simultaneously, but with a slight delay, so it sounded like an echo. I didn't bother trying the wired mic, as I need a system that works wirelessly. The best thing about this PA system is the three different mics it comes with.
