I have had this NAS in my home for several weeks. It performs well and transfer rates are good. In addition, it supports media streaming from the NAS itself to your cellular devices. I also regularly backup my PCs to this NAS and there are no noticeable performance issues(I use a RAID 5 configuration). Overall, this is a good device. However, do not expect it to be able to stream 4K media well. I would personally suggest using another PC to host something such as Plex to offload the CPU load. This especially holds true if streaming to multiple devices. However, streaming your music collection directly from the NAS should work fine.

This is a very flexible and very robust NAS. Before purchasing I watched many online reviews and comparison videos and I have to say they are spot on. This is one of the better NAS devices in the market. It is also one of the most flexible - which is good and bad (depending on how technically savvy you are). If you are somewhat technically savvy - this NAS is for you. I use this for: • general file storage and backup • Plex video server • as a Network Video Recorder for my IP cameras. So far it has done the duty quite well. There are endless uses for this device in addition to the embedded apps and functions. And 4 GB seems to be doing the trick so far. Other advice: get a really fast router that has trunking capability. The only cons: • the file server and share apps are a bit non-intuitive which causes some confusion during initial setup. • there is no inherent way to perform local backup from one local drive to another (when not using raid). This can be accomplished but not until after scouring the internet for a solution. • the tech support is quick to respond but execution of bugs within apps is ssssssllllllllooooooooow. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this device to a technically savvy individual.

This NAS was pretty simple to set up. It has a lot of features and plan to look more in-depth on the possibilities. We use this in a PC and Mac environment and both Operating systems picked it up within our network. If you run into any issues, their customer service was helpful and very responsive

Purchased a lesser version for a client and was happy with it. Went to this version for our personal in-house use. So far very pleased with it

This NAS is on the high end side of things with lots of bells and whistles. If you don't need all of the options my recommendation would be go with a lower end unit that is easier to setup. If you want the high end with all of the options then this is the unit for you!

I use this as a media server for my home. Very simple to implement with apps and some reading on the Internet.

I was looking for a NAS for awhile and after countless hours of research I decided to buy the QNAP. QNAP is #1 and top of the line, never been happier with a purchase.

After lots of research decided to get this to build my media server. Easy config, QNAP is great and loading my movies pretty straight forward.

My primary purpose is to install Plex to stream media (home videos, photos etc) and it has been working great. Bit noisy, but not bad

Great nas! I upgraded the memory to 16gb. And it's pretty fast. I use it mostly to run plex. Allot faster then my synology nas.

This was so easy to set and it is doing its job well.

I looked for months at which NAS to purchase and after much research and debate I finally decided to buy the QNAP. The software is amazing and the setup is 100% user friendly!!
