Awesome Movie! Jesse Owens was a great athlete.!!!

Tells the broader story and not just that of Jessi Owens.

I encourage everyone to see this movie .This was a great movie ! It gave a lot of real history about the Olympics and racism, It showed something much more important it showed not all were racist to the black population even though the majority were. But most importantly it showed that no matter what people thought of someone of another color , no matter what they said or did, the only thing that counts is your belief in yourself ! Only you can show the world that your as important as the next person , as good as the next person , and that you can achieve greatness . Skin color has nothing to do with who or what you are . Having heart and courage does !

The picture quality and sound of this blu ray was excellent. The story is a historical piece about Jesse Owens, an African-American, who went to the 1936 Olympics and showed up Hitler and his master race. The story starts with Jessie going off to The Ohio State University to run track. The main characters are Jessie, his girlfriend, and his coach at Ohio State. I thought the acting was excellent and the story was great because it was based on what actually occurred in history. Don't miss this one.

No one could accuse Race of being great filmmaking. Director Stephen Hopkins merely goes through the paces, plodding when he needs to sprint, and has a better record on TV (24, Californication, House of Lies) than he does with such movie drool as Blown Away, Lost in Space and The Reaping. Luckily, Race boasts a great subject to pin a movie on. He's Jesse Owens, an Alabama-born athlete from Ohio State University, who went on to win four gold medals in track and field at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. His triumph left Hitler to suck it up and watch a black man shatter his cuckoo theories of an Aryan master race.

I can't stress how inspiring this movie is. Stephan James did an amazing job playing Jesse Owens. I've read the story of Jesse Owens and his triumphs but the way his story was portrayed in this movie was better than what I envisioned when I read his book. Everyone that I know that has watched this movie loved it. You won't regret this purchase, its that good.

I have been a fan of Jesse Owens for years and very happy that his story is being told. Before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Baseball Jesse owners broke records and won four Gold medals in the last Olympic Games before WW2. The movie is well written and I was glued to the screen watching the story of one of my heros finally being told.

Great story about standing up against injustice and being persistent in using your God-given gifts to be a blessing to others and not just yourself. Truly enjoyable viewing experience. Arrived earlier than expected.

this movie depicted the struggles of a great group of people living in very discriminating times where they were assumed to be inferior while they proved to their own country to be great athletes and to the world a very enjoyable movie well acted very real to the times of the 36 olympiad

I didn't know what to expect when watching the trailers to this film. The story looked good but it also looked like the kind of movie that would make me fall asleep in the middle of it. To my surprise though I was readily engaged from beginning to end. Definitely no regrets on this purchase.

I was disappointed at some of the language but thinking back, those were the words and names that would have been used. I would not show this movie to anyone under teenage and I would first explain the time period and discrimination that was present.- even for an American Icon.

Went to the Theaters and saw the movie with my Girlfriend and her daughter they both enjoyed it and I noticed how the girlfriends daughter was watching the movie intensely, Once the movie came out I knew I had to buy it for it she has watched it several times since I bought it for her

The story of Jesse Owens is an important historical moment. Its both presented and acted with character and dignity, without sacrificing or becoming PC. It's as history should be presented, uncompromised, from the view of the era and not succumbing to the views of the current day.

Race tells the Jesse Owens story, from his childhood to shortly after his participation in the Olympics. If you are unaware of this man's courage in the face of the adversity of the times, this is a MUST see. Even if you know the story, you'll want to relive history at its finest.

Pun intended, Excellent cast, great/true story. There is considerable color footage of WW2, and the stadium is amazeingly real, Even Hitler, looks like the real deal. The cast is superb, Jesse Owens would be proud of this movie, after the first 5 minutes, you are there, in 1938.

This movie was so well made. Gave a truly touching story of not only Jessie Owens the man,but also did a great job of truly letting the viewer feel what it was like to be black during this time in the United States, and also to be a black American during WWII.

Being from the State of Ohio originally . I learned about the Olympic achievements of Jessie Owens before I could spell the word Achievement . He was truly a folk hero in the State and his name is still much revered and rightly so . This film depicts his trials and tribulations in a very truthful manner . Great Movie, Great Story of a truly unique man .

This movie is based on a true story. Love any movie on a true story. RACE is typically how life was for an Olympian back in the day with all the prejudice and racism. Powerful.

Great biography film depicting the life and legacy of Jesse Owens. His contribution to American history and inspiration for African Americans is splendidly told while showing the obstacles of racism abroad and domestically. A story all should see.

This movie was a great history yet inspiring movie. Especially with so many things going on our society with the color of you skin and whether you are a cop or not. Racism is still very strong in people lives like it was for People in this movie.
