Customers are pleased with the engaging gameplay, expansive open world, and exciting action sequences in RAGE 2. Many also appreciated the satisfying shooting mechanics and the availability of a low price point. However, some found the story weak and the driving mechanics underwhelming, with a few noting repetitive elements in the gameplay. The variety of weapons was also a point of contention for some players.

Loved this game! I love the action and adventure games from Bethesda. It is similar to the Fallout and Wolfenstein game franchises, (also Bethesda) and the Borderlands game sage which are favorites of mine. The only thing I wish it offered was more additional or more downloadable content (dlc) like both the Fallout and Borderlands games do.

Great game finally getting to it in 2026. Visceral FPS combat, world and story are mid, but cool atmosphere and mad max vibe. Which makes since, since these guys made the mad max game.

I liked the first game, except for the driving parts. This is better as a shooter. This game looks great, and plays great overall. The issue I have is the save system. Sometimes I’m so focused I forget to save. I completed a long mission, and ended up falling off a tower and died. I forgot to save so I had to start all over again. So frustrating that they don’t have save points. The vehicles are cool but again I don’t like the driving parts. The game does have some glitches which is to be expected from this developer. I picked this up at a great price, so it was well worth it. Give the game a shot.

Rage 2 is a huge open world that allows for some insane gunplay experiences. However, it’s the traveling to those experiences is where the adventure becomes tedious over time.
Playing the original Rage (2011) isn’t required to enjoy this installment though there are some Easter eggs for those that have. Actually, there isn’t much of an engaging plot in Rage 2. It’s the basic, avenge one of your fallen, travel, collect power-ups and weapons and unleash havoc at various destinations that are controlled by the bad guys.
As I mentioned before, it is the execution of the shooting mechanics where the fun is. Rage 2 definitely carries the Doom essence and that’s a good thing. You will string together a combo of crazy weaponry mixed with outlandish physical abilities.
I wish there was more fast traveling because, after a couple of hours, I wasn’t as engaged with the driving and wanting to exit my vehicle to engage random bandit fights. Though, when you do unlock the flight vehicle, the journey allows you to appreciate the landscape a little more. I do have to mention that the driving mechanics are ‘floaty’ and can be slightly frustrating when you’re trying to pursue a convoy or engage in a race on the fly.
Visually, the game is good. I wish there was an HDR option but overall, it runs at 1080p and a high frame rate on PS4 Pro (it also runs the same resolution and frame rate on the Xbox One X confirmed by the developers). The color pallet is a welcome change compared to the muted browns of the original Rage.
There isn’t any multiplayer or co-op and I am ok with that.
The main campaign is short but I still managed to put over 25 hours into Rage 2 because I did every mission and side mission while also exploring the little details of the land. Again, once you unlock the flight vehicle, you’ll find there’s more freedom to explore.
At the end of the day, Rage 2 is mindless fun and I think you will enjoy it while you just want to ‘escape’ the stresses of life.

This have is okay. The graphics are pretty good but it seems kinda shallow. It looks nice but the story seems lacking and the world send empty. I would not pay full price for this. Wait for it to be $20 then pick it up, otherwise you might regret your decision.

I love this game! It reminds me of Doom but with more freedom. The weapons are limited and so are the vehicles but the ones they give you are nice. There is so much to do in this game that it makes it a great time killer. My only complaints are that the story is way too short. I literally beat it in 10 hrs. And although the game is wide in scope it severely lacks in variety. After a while the game just gets repetitive but there is always different ways to dispatch your enemies with ease. Overall, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone just because it is so fun to play.

While this game suffers from a by-the-numbers story, it does try to make it up for it with bonkers gameplay. The problem is that the world is drab, the weapons aren't that great, and the powers become, well, TOO powerful after a while.

Rage 2 excels at gun play and on-foot encounters. The guns are a joy to shoot and feel fun and unique. Almost everything can be upgraded or have modified abilities— from guns, player skills, and cars. Resources are collected throughout the world, but really only serve to craft items or better player stats.
The story and game world are unfortunately not as entertaining. The world is mostly empty aside from roaming caravans of vehicles who pass on by, and enemies of differing factions engaged with each other. There are no emergent gameplay moments or sequences outside of story missions that only provide areas for players to travel to, kill some baddies, and collect resources. The story and world are both ultimately forgettable.
Despite this, there is a lot of fun to be had with Rage 2’s excellent shooting, on-foot maneuverability, and upgrades.

Great gunplay, combat and powers in one of the handful of open world games that run at 60fps last generation. I also personally enjoyed the vehicle combat too.
It's basically an open world Doom with better gunplay and graphics than say Borderlands. Main campaign is short, however the 1st expansion Rise of the Ghost is decent + a new area/location.
Worth picking up.

If you like Doom or Far Cry, you will probably enjoy Rage. Its open world exploration isnt quite as interesting as Far Cry but still enjoyable....its first person shooting is frantic and satisfying but just short of Doom's perfect pacing.
Overall, its a well crafted package that may not be top of its class but will not leave you disappointed if you are a fan of this type of game.
The only below average aspect is the writing. Its terrible and not in a silly over the top action movie way, but in a ham fisted, unfunny, amateur sort of way. I dont know who wrote the dialogue but they should find a new calling. It goes from annoying to cringe inducing......but its never the focus so it barely impacted my experience.
Its a definite recommend for FPS acolytes and YMMV for non shooter fans.

Fast paced action with amazing colors! Sometimes getting from mission to mission slows down the action but when you get there it is well with the ride! Not for kids due to language and a bit violent. Have fun!

Combat is fast and fun you wont regret buying it if you decide to do so. The story is so so with forgettable characters but you'll still have a good time with the Doom style combat.

If your looking for some in depth story you'll want to try anything else as this almost mimics the same bland story telling as Mad Max but if your looking for a shooter that doesn't take everything seriously and offers up a variety of freedom and options then this is the game for you. I enjoy the different upgrades and the way you can customize along with the bright colors in a deadly wasteland... however some might be turned off by the game being an open world fps without anything super indepth. Still recommend this game and best buy still delivered on time in top condition.

First of all, this game is dramatically harder than RAGE. WAY HARDER. The weapon selection is a lot more limited as well and while some of the customization features were pretty neat it also ends up feeling kind of like Halo which is not that fantastic since Halo is sort of its own game. That said the graphics are pretty excellent, the playability is pretty decent, and the challenge is absolutely much more present. I was able to play through most of the game in just a few days though which was kind of disappointing but the same issue I had with the first RAGE game.

Rage 2 is great , would've given it a 5 out of 5 but, no Card game in this one. Lame!! Games plays like a mashup of the best mechanics of Mad Max and Doom.
