Ok, game but short for $60.00

First the graphics and game play are excellent and the over all story line with the mini-games that are with-in the game give a good game experience. To load the game you have to install a program called Steam which is a messy load and I think if you do not have high speed internet (if you have Hughes Net satellite or Wild Blue) you might have issues. I guess Steam is a copy right protection program or service to make sure people pay to play, did not like that part and what I have read on the internet this program might have some spyware features installed, I am logging my firewall now to see if anything strange is making a connection outside my domain and which IP address and port number the connection is being made. The game tracks your time played and in about 15 hours I finished the game, which was short I think for $60.00 game and the ending was very un-eventful to say the least. Dead Space was a lot longer and had a better climax and was worth the money and time spent playing and I gave that 5 stars. I can honestly only give RAGE 3 stars due to the Steam issue, short play time for completion, and not so great ending. Putting those negatives aside the graphics for play are excellent and the over all story lines are too. I think the mini-games with-in the main game saved this one as I enjoyed the race games and the side jobs you can take to increase wealth and supplies. The weapons are average to good, however the setup of fast deploy items was sloppy and needed to be better if you play this game you will see what I mean. Do I recommend this game, if a "YES" or "NO" is what you are looking for I would say "YES", however there are better games on the market like Dead Space that I would recommend first then when you want to pass some time and you do not mind the small issues I mention then RAGE will work.

Decent game but a short story

I thought the story was a little short and the AI is average at best. They never flank you and you have to just take cover or run backwards to avoid getting killed. I also think the environment was small. ID had a good concept but just came up short in my opinion. The game is not worth a $60 investment but for $30 it's worth buying. If you like typical FPS games you should enjoy this one.

Rage's messy launch aside, the game is very fun. The shooting feels awesome. The graphics, outdoors, are phenomenally beautiful. Indoor, some textures are blurry. There are multiple diversions and mini-games to play and it keeps things fresh and fun.
My only major complaint is that the game is too short. Your first playthrough, completing most of the optional content, will take about 15 hours. A bit short for $60, but then again, that's just how AAA games are these days.
Don't jump on the negative hype train. I loved Rage.

First of all the reason for such a low rating is that the game is not playable. Right out the box. Now, I have been building pc's for over 10 years and have sunk hundreds of dollars into my rig to play the most demanding games. And I do. The problem is that ID software sent out a game to the public that is not finished. Google, rage graphics problems and you will find a magnitude of arcticles about poor graphics bad drivers and other issues. AMD and Nvidia have been working for a driver patch but reports from many say they do not work to fix the tearing and poor rendering . People are paying $60.00 for a pc game. Dont you think it should work right away without having to wait for a patch?

So you buy the PC load it have it follow the instructions (all 3 DVD's) then Steam wants to you play it (during the install it connects to Steam cannot even skip) and then the game automatically stops. So figure okay something I did not install, so look on the forum and you see the Steam and Rage the Game forum flooded with others who either cannot even start the game or inside the game and it crashes when they visit various places or do different things. And yes my PC is a quad core top of the line. Maybe PS3 version or Xbox is not buggy so far the PC is poorly done.
So RECOMMEND WAIT TILL GAME HAS ALL PATCHES ETC AND WORKS BEFORE PURCHASING.

I, like many others am having the same problem - game will not even load. I hope they come up with a fix or it was $60 down the drain - you can't return opened games.
My PC well exceeds the min. requirements, also.
Google the game and you will there are many issues with the game.
