1932 "RAIN" IS SEXY & DISTURBING , EVEN IN 2022

By today's standards, RAIN is mild, compared to how audiences may have reacted to in 1932, even prior to the production code. Joan Crawford portrayal of the downfallen Sadie Thompson, was convincing. I remember the same for Rita Hayworth's portrayao of Sadie in the color 3D MISS SADIE THOMPSON. Add the sinister portrayal of the forsaken redeemer, played by the brilliant Walter Houston, and you have a masterful portrayal of sensuality and corrupt religiousness. It may be rated PG by today's standards, but RAIN is still one masterpiece of cinema both with great acting and cinematography. It's worth watching!!!
