While not my favorite Rambo film, that will always be the first (i.e., First Blood), this is a worthy entry in the franchise. Although, it is very dark and brutal. Yes, there is CGI blood. But, there are some practical effects and explosions, too. I won't go into the film. My main focus here is to comment on the quality of the 4K release. The 4K HDR presentation here is quite nice. I watched the 1080p Blu-ray not long ago and I felt like there was more immersion in the 4K presentation, so I enjoyed the film more--I actually sold my 1080p Blu-ray thinking I would never watch this film again. But I could see myself re-watching this one on occasion. Sure. It is gritty. But it does have a commendable story. It does fit the character and I like that Rambo fights with a team...sort of. Anyway, the sound here is good. It filled the room nicely. I don't recall any overhead effects that stood out, but then, I don't know why it would need any. Most of the action is ground-level. At the price, this is a good addition to your collection if you are a fan of the franchise.

I grew up watching the Rambo films. Each one is very distinct. This "Rambo" is by far the bloodiest one of them all, and I love it. The tone set in this Rambo is different but welcome. The drama seems more real and gut wrenching this time, and there are scenes of violence that are hard to watch but was likely necessary to invoke the sensitive nature of the story. It is a good watch. Enjoy !. The 4K bluray renders the picture with noticeable improvements here and there, but it is the sound that will blow you away, which is a definite improvement over the 1080. Watch the part with .50 cal during the last battle scene. The thud coming off that weapon will rattle your dishes.

gory/violent/ and full of action are the words that best describes this movie! i have seen the rest and i wasn't really into them, this one tho did catch my attention and turned out to be awesome! one complain that i have for this 4k version and pay close attention to this, they messed up with their theatrical and directors cut of the movie. They swapped them, how do i know this? I've seen this movie so many times that i remember what happens in what parts, and i noticed that some parts were missing from the extended cut and i was mad, so i went back and re watched the whole thing back to back on the theatrical release and surely enough those missing parts were there. The movie is great over also check this one out if you haven't seen it! just don't be squeamish because they show some parts that are a bit too much for people

    The Best Rambo

Rambo is the best Rambo in the series. With a story line taken from current events at the time it was filmed (2007), it was both heart breaking and horrific at times. This added to the need of justice and the audience wanting for John Rambo to give the enemy what it deserved. All that said, the action scenes were powerful and gruesome, but only added to the realistic view of the movie. The 4k transfer of the film and soundtrack made the movie look even better. My only complaint is that they recycled the Blu-ray disc from the extended edition of the movie, which came out shortly after the theater version of the film was released on Blu-ray. Would of loved the Blu-ray version to have been at least remastered as well. Over all a good release.

This was a decent 4K upscale. While there are scenes which appear better than the standard blu-ray disc, there were also scenes in which the resolution clarity appeared the same as the standard blu-ray. The 4K UHD disc has ported over most of the supplements as well as the sole supplement on the Extended Cut. Theatrical version (1:31:31) and Extended cut (1:39:16). Audio Commentary by Sylvester Stallone is available on the Theatrical Cut only. It's a Long Road: Resurrection of an Icon (HD; 19:43) A Score to Settle: The Music of Rambo (HD; 6:31) The Art of War: Completing Rambo (HD; 10:02) The Weaponry of Rambo (HD; 14:23) A Hero's Welcome: Release and Reaction (HD; 9:30) Legacy of Despair (HD; 10:41) Rambo: To Hell and Back - Director's Production Diary (HD; 1:23:32) Deleted Scenes (HD; 13:45) Theatrical Trailer (HD; 2:27)

    A Great 4th Installment

Rambo has been a beloved franchise in the action genre for decades, and while the third film is often ridiculed as the worst of the series, I still found it very enjoyable. So when this 4th film came out, many people didn’t have high expectations but were very pleasantly surprised when it ended up being one of the best in the series. Seeing the movie in crystal clear 4K is a great experience and hugely benefits from the improved sound quality. I’m also happy to say that this set comes with both the theatrical and Unrated cuts of the movie. I’m very glad to add this one to my Rambo 4K collection and am now more stoked than ever for Rambo: Last Blood!!

When a group of missionary aid workers in Myanmar disappear into the vast green inferno, vigilante Vietnam War veteran John Rambo leaves his job as a Salween River boatman behind to accompany a group of mercenaries on a daring rescue mission. It's been twenty years since Rambo helped mujahedeen rebels fend off Soviet invaders in Afghanistan, and these days the former soldier lives a simple life in northern Thailand. But it's time now for Rambo to take up arms once more and mete out his own, unique, brand of justice.

I love this movie first because the action was great and the story itself is about things that really happen in Burma or what ever they call them selfs. it was also cool that the extended part played in 4k mosy movie only have the long version on the bluray disc but when you use the code on VUDU it plays the theatrical vertion only

The 4K version is not a huge leap forward, but it is still an improvement over the standard blu-ray. The Dolby Atmos track is awesome. Also, this has both the theatrical and extended versions in 4K, which is great. The standard blu-ray is only the theatrical version, but that’s okay with me.

What a ride. The only Rambo movie I own. The ending bloodbath is worth the price alone. Stallone beefed up hard for this and he looks like a roided out monster, which works so well. Story and pacing are so weak, but with a Rambo film you're here for carnage.

I think I like this Rambo movie the best out of the first 4 although 1 is pretty good. Rambo 4 is full of action and it’s very graphic, and gets inside the head of John still a major bad dude , but very sympathetic. Warning the killing is very intense.

Rambo, the fourth film in the Rambo franchise, is a well-made and nicely directed action film. It is by far the goriest film of the franchise, but that's to be expected with a film like this. Stallone is great as always. Highly recommend it!
