Stunning movie. With a wonderful transfer. The movie is a retelling of King Lear but with Japan as it’s backdrop. If you like foreign films it’s a must see

What a movie! A Kurosawa flick finally on 4k. And possibly his best looking one too. Beautiful steelbook as well. Might be my favorite artwork of the year.

Classic movie! Picture transfer is good and the sound is OK considering its age. But I can't resist how the steelbook look! It's out of this world!

Studio Canal did a great job in bringing this film to 4k. Looks like it was show yesterday. The artwork on the steelbook and discs is great too.

Even if you have the Criterion version, the vividness of this HDR edition is worth a double-dip purchase. The Steelbook packaging is a bonus.

Ran is a film that can only be made by a master in his old age. It's an epic adaptation of King Lear full of striking visuals and despair.

This movie is an epic masterpiece and so is the Steelbook packageing. Kurosawa is a genius and this movie looks beautiful.

I enjoyed this film greatly, and found the new blu-ray transfer was crystal clear. I hope similar films will be offered in this format.
