Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the IntelliRoute TND 730 LM 7" GPS's ease of use, accurate GPS navigation, and large, easy-to-read screen. Many appreciate the lifetime map updates, ensuring they always have the most current road information. However, some users note that the routing could be improved, and battery life is a potential concern for some. Despite these minor drawbacks, the positive feedback on accuracy and ease of use is prominent.

We purchased this unit for our service van and tested it for about two weeks. There was no option for a van so it rerouted us over and over again assuming we were a truck costing us hours and hours of wasted time, travel and tolls. After an extremely frustrating test, this unit was promptly returned for a refund.

It locks up, won't reboot. Returned & replaced it with another one. It did the same thing. Seems to be linked to the "upgrade/registration download. And not sure what exactly the purpose of the memory card is even geek squad couldn't figure it out!

The item freezes up, frequently shuts off when the cord is touched and requires it to be played with to work. I would not recommend this item to anybody.

I just returned my TND 730 after a few days of use. I was willing to give it another shot & took another to try this week. I love everything about the unit. It kept me right on track in Chicago area. The problem with my first one, was it worked 100% excellent at home all weekend setting it up. It was in the upper 40's to low 50's on Sunday in MN. I took it to my truck and when I was ready to go, it started up but I could not hit accept or type anything. I figured it had to be due to the temperature, which wasn't even chilly. I turned on defrost and after a little bit it worked great. The next morning would be the test and it did the same problem every morning. I need it to work when I turn it on and not in a half hour. The worst thing is it needs to function in very cold weather here. The clerk said that they had not heard of this problem yet and we decided it was a fluke. One more chance this week, I am going to set my new one out in my pickup tonight and test it in the morning (fingers crossed). The clerk advised the Garmin Dezi, I almost swapped but the reviews are sort of mixed. Although sifting through them, I do think they were not all set up correctly. I have the Co Pilot truck also. When I first got it, I ended up in a few tight spots. After tweaking it to what type of roads I liked etc. it was dead on... Rating was based on routes and features when warmed up. Rating will change if 2nd unit does the same thing.

So far I am on my third item of this product. The first and second attempts to use this product ended within 6 weeks of purchase. Both times after a few weeks of use when the unit was turned on for the next day's driving a set of black and grey lines appeared on the screen. On the first unit it lasted another hour and then completely shut down. The second one had the same issue but the evening before when using the calculator it was five to eight second lags to recognize the number(s) being pressed. The next morning it would turn on with only the black and grey lines. That said when it was exchanged at Best Buy they were helpful although if these issues happen while out on the road very few Best Buy locations carry it in stock. Also it does miss some streets where the street is closed to thru traffic. It only reroutes once the concrete divider was observed by the driver and then rerouting to the next block to reach the destination.

This is my 2 rand mcnally in a month, i'm very disappointed about this device, the screen get frozen, the touch screen it doesn't work right, it sucks! When i really needed just plug in and I've to wait about one hour to restart it because it's freezing, on this business we don't have time to wait! Don't expend your money!

    Buy the garmin

Although the 730 tnd has never left me stranded or lead me to the wrong neighborhood, I must admit that I like it very much didn't want to get ride of it, but the dame unit just keeps powering down on me randomly and I'm afraid of it just going out forever so I returned it and bought the garmin dezl 770. Hopefully this garmin doesn't do the same thing or I will run it over with my big rig and never look back. If your looking to buy the rand mcnally 730 tnd just save your money and buy something else. I wouldn't recommend buying the tablet for truck either because they all have problems with charging get issues.
