One of Disney’s best. A young woman, a warrior. a pre-teen cook-sailor, a precocious toddler, three small primates, and a dragon quest to save the world from a plague that turns living beings to stone. A magnificent job of meshing cultures and mythologies from multiple southeast Asian civilizations into into a engrossing swords and sorcery adventure. Characterizations are excellent, even for the non-speaking parts. Villains, heroes and those in between are recognizably human personalities. The scenery and architecture are well drawn and even though post-apocalyptic, visibly southeast Asian, including cold climate sequences. Dragons are recognizably Asian, not European. However, I particularly liked the saber toothed cats and the gigantic, rideable armadillo like creature. This picture is very entertaining for the whole family.

I was hesitant to invest my time in a movie loosely based on the career of Maraya Carey but my love of Dragons and Disney animation made this one a no brainer. Disney was smart to drop the Ma off of the title characters name by shortening it to Raya, especially after that New Years Eve debacle. I don't know if she was actually hitting her famous high note while recording her vocals for this film or if they used some older clips off her Butterfly album but they truly sound amazing in Dolby Atmos. You get hit from every angle and it's quite an experience for any fan of the pop star or dragons. I can definitely say fans of either will definitely find something to enjoy about this film

I bought all formats, digital to share with family. Besides the beauty if this film it made me cry and laugh and just feel ggod about what movie says about us as humans. Akwafina ( not sure if spelling) is so cute and funny as the dragon. And the extras about the Asian community was enlightening. Knowing this film was made during the pandemic makes it even more beautiful, you can't tell this was done in employees homes. I also enjoy seeing a strong female characters and NOT alot of the singing and dancing that most of the older ' Disney ' movies are so famous for. My grand niece will not agree she loves the singing & dancing BUT SHE IS 4 YEARS OLD .

Our family has watched this movie several times since it first came out. Although we haven't liked many of the recent Disney films, this one reminds us of early Disney. We like that it sticks to a similar Disney trope of a princess in trouble who needs to resolve a problem. But it's great to see a different culture, different beliefs, and a different world (not Earth past, present or future) represented in the movie. The voice actors did a great job. The video quality is high quality.

Great Family, Adventure Animation Film! Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned and it's up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the last dragon in order to finally stop the Druun for good. However, along her journey, she'll learn that it'll take more than dragon magic to save the world--it's going to take trust as well.

What a wonderful movie on several fronts. First it is a nice story line that would be enjoyable for the entire family to watch. Then here is the quality of the movie itself. The colors are vivid and the detail is excellent. You can see the individual hairs of the dragon and the stitching on the clothing of the characters. Truly amazing on how far animation has come over the years and delivering to a worthwhile home theater experience.

Although I haven’t watched the movie personally, I bought this for my grandchildren. They love watching movies in the car when they are traveling long distances and this is a new movie to add to their collection! Disney movies are always favorites to enjoy and I actually was able to buy this on sale.

Good family movie with a great deal of Chinese influence and as you know, the Chinese have a flare for telling tall tales. Raya is the first animated film for Disney since Moana which was a very good movie but this is a bit darker than usual for Disney. Still it is a good story and one to watch with the wife and children. Be sure to make the popcorn first then start watching. You won’t be disappointed

A great movie. Just great. And to all those who say it’s “formulaic,” you are not the I tended audience. My 8-year-old daughter laughed when she found something funny ant got quiet when it was serious. As the father of two daughters, it really hit all the feels. All of the characters have a purpose and are easily defined by their roles. Simple and effective.

This movie introduces the newest Disney Princess for SE Asia. The movie is based on an Asian myth. The characters are new and fresh with a great diversity of personalities typical of Disney. I am a behind the scenes Disney geek and enjoy all the extras that come with the set. Also comes with a digital copy you can take anywhere. Highly recommended.

It sure wishes it did and this Disney movie should have been a musical like Moana while still keeping the action. If you’re gonna put Awkwafina as the dragon she should have gotten her own rap song! I sure hope to see a series or sequels of this!

My son had seen this in the theater and wanted his parents to watch it with him. We found it to be thoroughly enjoyable and the animation/rendering was top-notch; especially when you realize that it was completed as a work-from-home project during COVID lockdown. Very good storytelling and voice acting. Highly recommend.
