I already owned this mouse. I enjoyed it so much that I bought a second one for my son when we built his PC. So far, he loves it. Great mouse for the cost.

Not a good FPS Mouse

Overall all the Cons outweigh the Pros. If you're an FPS gamer the weird acting scroll-click + hold and the spongy forward / back buttons (e.g. CoD baking / holding a grenade) will drive you to drive back to Best Buy and return. For the same money the Corsair M65 is a better bet. The tracking and feel of this mouse are good but those other buttons absolutely not. Oh I've tried the "resistance setting wheel" and while I like it, it's pretty pointless; ideally I for that I prefer the Logitech G502 Hero's free/clicking scroll wheel.

It’s very light and comfortable in the hands, especially considering it’s got that textured thumb rest. Overall It’s good for gaming but there are definitely better options for that.

Better than my old original G502

Very similar to my old G502 shape-wise but better all around. Compared to the G502, the Basilisk
* Is noticeably lighter - even with no extra weights in the G502
* Has much better skates/feet, my G502 had a noticeable "catch" when moving the mouse forward and were a cheap thin plastic
* RGB (I really like that the mouse wheel has lights)
* Cord is very light and barely noticeable (G502 is VERY stiff)
* Tune-able mouse wheel - I like being able to control how "clicky" the mouse wheel operates - G502 was either really notchy or off (infinity)
* Side rubber grips feel more premium and grippier
* Software - there is no comparison, Razer has a very good software suite
* I do not miss the extra top-left buttons from the G502 as I often accidentally hit them
* I also do not miss the "tunable" weights from the G502. That used to be a selling point for me but I have since adjusted to lightweight mice.
The only con I have is the price. I think $60 would have been more appropriate.

Razer is always going to be expensive but it is because they make quality products. This mouse is extremely comfortable to use and has helped with my arthritis a lot. Extremely easy to change sensitivity and use macros with this mouse.

Decent Mouse Marred by Bloatware

Overall, this mouse was okay, but I would not say that its price tag is justified (especially at full price), mostly due to Razer's terrible software that is forced upon you. I exchanged it and went with the Steel Series Rival 3 for half the price, pure and simple software (with settings saved directly to the mouse), and actually greater comfort than the basilisk.
Pros:
- Design: Looks aesthetically nice. RGB is simple, but you have two spots to change colors.
- Comfort: Overall, this feels very ergonomic.
- Adjustable Scroll Wheel: Very cool feature for somebody who is picky about just the right scroll wheel resistance.
- DPI settings: Sky is the limit when customizing DPIs and profiles.
Cons:
- Razer Synapse: Wow. This is pure bloatware that you are forced to not only have open, but be connected to the internet at all times! Sure, you can save some profiles for DPI to on-board memory, but forget it for lighting settings. All your RBG settings need the app to be running. I did a bit of a deep-dive and found 5+ different apps from Razer all running and connected to the internet. Combined, they ate up nearly 1 GB of RAM, + were vaguely sending data over the internet. Razer has no option to opt out of analytics and it is very unclear why it needs to be online at all. Additionally, they shove other software unnecessary to the mouse during install onto your PC. When I returned the mouse, it was a pain to get rid of the software, analogous to spyware. In fact, after uninstalling, I still found several Razer programs running in the background; had to dig some more to fully uninstall this crap. Meanwhile, the Steel Series products have a simple program that you open once during set-up; close it and never open again as the mouse stores everything how it should.
- Thumb Rest: So, I know this is up to personal preference, but I actually found the thumb rest irritating. The material was hot and just made my thumb sweaty.
- Materials/Build Quality: Fine, but feels overall cheap and flimsy. Cheaper mouses have felt more solid and sturdy than this.
- No Weight Adjustments: Feels very light. For some, this is good. However, I prefer a little more weight and there is no way to adjust this.

I recently bought this mouse and I love it. It fits the hand perfectly, and the built in customizable LED's make it super cool looking. At first I was debating whether the cord would be a problem when I was gaming, but honestly I couldn't tell there was a cord at all. It has a smooth amazing feeling, plus having the option to alter the resistance for the scroll wheel is a really helpful and nice touch. Overall It's an amazing mouse that's as good or better than any other mouse twice It's price. I strongly recommend this mouse to anyone even including the most hardcore gamer's.

I am a Razer Fan. I have multiple Razer products. However, I really like this mouse and so do my Teenage sons. I first bought the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed for myself and then a Razer Basilisk V2 for one son. The other son wanted one also for the following reason:
1. The thumb rest. It prevents the thumb from dragging on the mouse mat by accident.
2. The wheel also moves left and right. I wish this was a feature on the wireless version.
3. Chroma is good but apparently having dancing multi color during gaming is not good. minimalist lighting.
4. Large enough for palm grip players.
5. One son uses the other doesn't but the thumb button that lowers the dpi for snipping. This button is not on the wireless version so I don't know if I would use.

My 10 year old Logitech G700 finally gave out on me. Unfortunately, Logitech doesn't make that model anymore and their newer mice don't have the same shape. This more than made up for it. The shape fits well with a large hand. The RGB options are fun. The DPI is easy to quickly change and can be more responsive than necessary for any normal human being. Adjusting the scroll wheel tension is easy and a nice touch. Happy with my purchase.

I have been using wireless gaming mice for numerous years. Wireless mice eliminates the movement of the mouse when the mouse is let go. They also eliminate having yet another cord for the computer.
Having lights on the mouse make it easier to see in the dark. The high DPI setting lets me move across my ultra wide screen monitor within the little space I have to move it in.
The cord on the other hand is what I was skeptical of. As I said, I have used wireless mice for numerous years. Though, I was surprised with this mouse. The Razer speedflex cable made the cord almost unnoticeable. With the weight of the mouse does not make the mouse too heavy and there is no movement due to the cable after it is released. Except when the cable hits my leg I don't even notice it's there. The cable does not restrict the movement at all.
The only other issue I have with this mouse is it's brand. The program they have for controlling the mouse works only when starting the computer. If you do like me and only put the computer to sleep, it doesn't work fully when waking. The lights are set back to their default because the program does not recognize the mouse and sometimes needs to be closed and restarted to work again. But that doesn't affect the DPI settings of the mouse and still allows the mouse to be usable.

I love the quality of this mouse. Great control, comfort, lots of buttons for customization. I don't know if it's mine but the grip doesn't feel as grippy. Other than that, I like that it uses optical micro switches meaning this mouse will never double click on you like all previous Razer mice do.

Love this mouse, we have them for both PCs and are active (but not hardcore) gamers. Includes some additional mouse options that we love, like a fwd and back paging click. Nice size and grippiness for large and small adult hands. Great option for those that want a more ergonomic mouse, but also want a cooler one for home than three nice rotated ones. Speed is adjustable and has a "slow" quick toggle for when you want a quick, sensitive mouse for gaming and a slower one for basic PC work (or when your partner uses the mouse and the zippy speed makes them cringe). Looks good, nice lights, responsive. Includes customization software from Razer. Trusted brand.

I’ve used a lot of gaming mice out there and so far this is perfect for me. The mouse I was using before this was the 69g Razer Viper. That is also a super great mouse not to light perfect in the hand and feels super smooth. This mouse feels the same to me as the viper just slightly heavier more buttons and does fit in the hand more comfortable for me. If you like the Logitech G502 you’ll love this mouse since it’s basically a better version of it. Been using Razer Products for 6+ years not one has broke or any problems and still works all like brand new. Very satisfied with my purchase.

This is Razer's version of the Logitech G502. It improves upon a few things, namely the scroll wheel and weight. I like the feel of the clicks better and it has more RGB if that's your thing. Highly recommended.

I'm sure the Ultimate is Excellent, but this is basically the same mouse, but with a wire (and some subtle changes i.e. light zones). Very light weight, and I love the wire (Razer has been on a roll with theirs), just add a bungie and it feels like you're using a wireless mouse. Scroll wheel with the tension control is cool, but nothing like the infinite scroll from Logitech, but no deal breaker at all. Mouse feet are fantastic as well. If you don't care for wireless, I think this version is the best value for the money of all the Basilisk.

I originally purchased the Logitech G502 Gaming Mouse and found the back of it to be really uncomfortable due to the fact that there's a weird line that makes your hand feel kinda weird when using it.
I ended up getting this as a replacement and it's a lot better. It also has a line but it's sufficiently out of the way that it's not a problem. The option of having a removable side button too is a nice addition compared to the G502. I do wish it had a free-spinning scroll wheel, but this one has an adjustable tension scroll wheel so it's a great compromise.
My only flaw with this mouse isn't even the mouse itself, it's the software. Razer's software is hot garbage, it's so un-user friendly and constantly bugs you to update it. Trying to reassign buttons is a pain and overall I just don't bother ever messing with it because of how annoying it is to deal with.
Tl-Dr: Mouse is good, better then G502, software isn't even worth your time.
