Razer's New BlackShark
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer's BlackShark line has long been synonymous with competitive gaming audio, lauded for its superb microphones and featherlight comfort. With the BlackShark V3 Pro, Razer appears to be taking this legacy to an entirely new level, adding features that solidify its position as a top-tier contender for the most discerning gamers. After spending some time with this headset, it's clear Razer has listened to its community, delivering a wireless experience that truly enhances competitive play and beyond. First off, the audio. The THX Spatial Audio with 7.1.4 surround sound helps you pinpoint where sounds are coming from. This helps to tell you the direction of footsteps or gunfire, which can be pretty useful. Plus, pro-tuned FPS profiles and a customizable EQ means you can pick a sound setting optimized for competitive games, or fine-tune it yourself. The TriForce 50mm drivers handles the sound, aiming for a balanced range from bass to highs. A notable addition is Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). While previous BlackShark models offered good passive noise isolation, ANC actively works to reduce background noise. So, if you're in a noisy environment, it could help cut down on distractions from your computer's fans or other sounds around you, helping you focus on your game. Then there's the microphone. The BlackShark series is known for its microphones, and this one offers a HyperClear Full Band 12mm microphone offering clear voice communication. Your teammates should be able to hear you clearly, and it would likely reduce background noise from your end. For connectivity, it's designed for simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz audio. This means you could be wirelessly connected to your PC for gaming while also paired to your phone via Bluetooth. You could take a call or listen to music on your phone without having to switch headsets. The Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Gen 2 should provide a stable, low-latency connection, which is important for gaming. Comfort-wise, it features dual-layered Flowknit memory foam cushions. These are soft and breathable, designed to be comfortable during longer gaming sessions. The headset's lightweight design would also contribute to this comfort. You'd also get game/chat balance controls directly on the headset, making it easy to adjust audio levels between your game and voice chat. The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is definately a strong contender in the competitive wireless gaming headset market. It combines established comfort and microphone quality with advanced audio features and improved noise cancellation. It seems designed to provide a comprehensive and effective audio experience for gamers.

Almost Perfect Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to pick up a new headset that had surround sound and active noise cancelling so I can tune out background noise but also enjoy a more immersive sound experience. That’s when I found out Razer was releasing a new Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Gaming headset with both features! Pros: - Very comfortable even after long gaming sessions. - 7.1 Surround sound with THX Spatial Audio is amazing! - Audio and Mic enhancements are great. - Up to 70hrs of Battery Life on a single charge. Cons: - Mic EQ profiles provide little boost. Out of the Box: Razer at least knows that most of their customers are gamers and making the setup easy is important for them. Included in the box is the BlackShark V3 Pro Gaming headset, the detachable microphone boom, the wireless receiver, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and a USB-C to 3.5mm Jack cable. Setup is simply plug in the Receiver to the USB-C to USB-A cable, then plug that into your PC (or Playstation) and open Synapse 4 to complete the setup. The headset arrived with about 75-80% charge, which was plenty to jump straight into playing. Build & Feel: The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Gaming headset is very comfortable for long gaming sessions, mainly due to the dual-layered memory foam ear cushions which are extremely comfortable while providing airflow, so you don’t get that headset sweat. The ear cushions sit snuggly around your ears with inner cushions between the speakers and your ear to prevent your ears from rubbing up against the harder plastic of the speakers. The adjustable headband keeps the ear cushions firmly in place without applying too much pressure. These are on the heavier side at 0.84lbs (13.5 Oz). Overall build quality is solid, even the plastic parts have strong feel, with a light textured surface. I couldn’t figure out how to remove the ear cushions but based on the prior models and materials I found on Razer’s website I think the ear cushions pop off with the right pry tools. Controls: The BlackShark V3 Pro has controls that sit on each of the ear cups that allow you to on the fly change the settings for the most part. On the Left Ear: Push Button Mute, Power/Pause/Play, Power-On LED, USB-C Port for Charging and connectivity, and the Microphone port. The dial on the outside of the Left ear controls the volume. Over on the Right Ear: Sound Mode multi-function button, Channel Balance, and the ANC button. My only complaint about the buttons is how long you must push the power button before it turns on. Having multi-functional buttons help reduce the total number of buttons on the headset, but because of that the push to turn on or off the headset is awkwardly long, like 5 seconds to turn on. It just feels off for how fluid and well thought out the rest of the headset is. The Sound Mode multi-function button allows for switching between settings without using Synapses. A single press cycles through the Sound EQ presets. A double press switches the audio source mode: Wireless, Bluetooth, and Simultaneous which allows for both Wireless and Bluetooth connections at the same time. The ability to connect to both Wireless and Bluetooth is helpful if you want to play a game and talk on the phone or need to be able to listen for a text or call while gaming, it’s a very convenient feature. The channel mix dial is one of my favorite features as I often must turn up the chat volume to hear over the gun fire or game music. Razer added a beep when the mix is equal (50/50) and a double beep of different tones when the mix is 100% at chat (lower tone) or game (higher tone). The ANC button cycles through turning on ANC, Ambient, or ANC off. Synapse 4: Razer makes setup and configuration simple using the Synapse software for all Razer devices. Just download the Synapse 4 software and let it get to work. Once you have the Synapse 4 installed, one of the first things you’ll want to do is enable the THX Spatial Audio. The THX really changes the quality of the sound, for everything it just sounds much fuller and more dynamic. Some games are specifically built for THX, so make sure to enable it in the game settings as well. Within Synapses there are specific tabs for Sound, Enhancements, MIC, Power, and Demo. Within the Sound tab you can adjust the Sound EQ, this is where the THX Spatial Audio setting is (go turn that on). To get the most out of the BlackShark V3 Pro you will want to adjust the EQ settings to your preferences, which can take a bit of time but will make a huge difference. Within the Sound tab you will also see the volume and game/chat balance which is helpful in case you’ve hit the channel mix dial a few times. The next most important tab is the Enhancement tab, where the setting for ultra-low latency mode, Active Noise Cancellation and Ambient modes. Many gaming headsets have some form of noise cancelling, but only a few have Active Noise Cancelling that with multiple levels of cancellation. And even fewer have Ambient mode, which is usually reserved for ear buds or mobile phone headsets. It’s a great feature if you want to play with a gaming headset on but need to be able to hear what’s going on around you. The MIC tab allows for setting the Microphone EQ profiles, which more below on that but really might need to adjust these manually to get the best results to no surprise. The additional Mic Enhancements are available, along with Mic Monitoring to hear the effects in live fashion. The Power Tab allows you to customize the Receiver Indicator light to indicate connection status, Battery Status, or only Battery Warning. I switched it to Battery Status as I can see my receiver on the desk, which helps me know when it’s time to charge the headset. The last tab is a Demo tab to see the full effects of your sound settings. Highly recommended trying the Demo with Stereo on, then try it again with THX enabled. Sound: Hands down, the THX Spatial Audio surround sound is the GOAT here. After turning it on, I couldn’t turn it back off. When I did, I could instantly notice how flat, or empty the sound was. Even for audio not designed for THX, having it enabled would boost the fullness of the sound. Add in a tuned EQ and you’re BOOMING! The other effect here is the ability to hear in full 7.1.4 surround sound. You can hear the footsteps in games where THX is enabled, which gives you the edge over your opponents! You can hear them coming around or up the stairs. Microphone: The Mic by itself is good, it is clear and picks up a wide range of volume without too much distortion. It’s not my favorite headset microphone, but it is very good compared to most. The biggest downside I found with the microphone was that the pre-set EQ profiles didn’t really provide much punch nor bass. The different profiles didn’t make a big enough difference to make me want to use anyone except Flat default. During my testing, I found that the profiles loss a lot of the Bass sound for whatever reason, more so than I would have expected and caused distortion with my voice in some cases. This might be due to my own voice, either way in the end I left the default flat sound for best results. I found the MIC Enhancements left a tinny sound to the voice. The noise cancelling was good, but there are other options I have on the PC that work way better. If it’s the only option, it will do but expect some distortion. ANC & Ambient: The Active Noise Canceling actually works. Razer did a great job in making the ANC block out background noises, like mechanical key typing or your roommate’s movie playing in the background. I’m surprised by how well the ANC works, plus there are 4 different levels of noise cancellation you can adjust between. But at the same time if you need to be able to hear while gaming, Ambient mode can help you control the noise that does pass through. Usually these are settings reserved for ear buds for your phone, but Razer included them into a Gaming headset and it’s a game changer! Dual Channels & Sources: One of my longtime favorite features of gaming headsets is the dual channels for Game and Chat volume. Splitting Game/App audio from Communications makes it easier to hear what’s going on, while being able to focus on which ever audio is more important. I often have issues hearing what people are saying between gun fire of FPS’s, so being able to turn up the volume on just chat is very important to me. Plus, Razer included the ability to connect multiple audio sources simultaneously. You can connect via the Wireless and Bluetooth at the same time, enabling game play while listening to your phone or being on a call. You can even set smart behaviors to adjust the Wireless volume when a call is incoming. Battery Life: Razer made sure you didn’t have to worry about running out of power mid game, with a stated 70-hour battery life on Wireless. I didn’t measure the exact time, but I’ve only charged to full once with daily use and still have 80% charge left. With about 8+hours of use a day, that easily adds up to over 70-hours of battery life. Additionally, the battery is replaceable with the removal of a magnetic cover and 2 screws! Conclusion: If you want a pro gaming headset with all the features, while not caring about microphone EQ profiles, then the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro gaming headset is one of the best choices for you! Hands down the THX Surround Sound is a blast to listen to; I’ve enjoyed a whole new experience of gaming with these. The ANC is also a huge must have for any gamer in a noisy environment, cutting out the background keystrokes, leaving just you and the game. I’ve found a new favorite headset, which will be hanging under my desk for a long time I suspect.

Premium Headset with Premium Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: Razer made a well-rounded gaming headset that is equally happy with movies and music as it is games. PROS THX 7.1.4 Surround Simultaneous Bluetooth and Hyperspeed Audio Up to 70hrs Playback Volume Knob No RGB Overload CONS I prefer a flip-style mic So-so ANC SET-UP / INTIAL THOUGHTS As I say in nearly ever Razer review, I used to hate the Synapse software. But a shout out to Razer for making Synapse 4 more user-friendly and less resource demanding. Synapse of years past would be overly complicated & unintuitive, but Razer has made great strides making Synapse more easily accessible. The module for the new Razer BlackShark headphones is easy to understand and easy to configure. Shout out to Razer for their firmware process as well. This is one of the few headphones I can remember that didn't need an immediate firmware update upon start-up to function properly. USE I've reviewed a few Razer headphones now and each time I receive a new sample, their products continue to improve. The BlackSharks are no exception. Unlike Razer's other Pro headsets that rely on haptics for bass reproduction, the BlackSharks accomplish it with 50mm drivers. 50mm is the standard size for premium headsets nowadays. The BlackSharks don't have haptics to muddy the sound with bass frequencies. Razer claims their new 50mm titanium "TriForce" drivers are made from 3 different parts, divided into lows, mids, and highs. Razer says this allowed them to be able to tune each of the 3 drivers individually. I'm not sure exactly what they did to tune them, but the new BlackShark Pros are very crisp and clear. Punchy lows are combined with crisp, detailed highs. Both music and movies sound very good on the BlackSharks. They are noticeably improved over prior generations of Razer drivers. Are they as crisp and wonderfully clear as some of the best music headphones. No, not even close. But they are improved enough to make them very good at what they do. So much so that the first thing I tested the headphones with was a favorite song & instantly noticed the improvements to the drivers, there is that much of a change. The addition of THX 7.1.4 Spatial Audio is a rare feature among headphones these days. Having purchased both the Dolby Atmos and the DTS:X headphone apps, I was able to do back-to-back comparisons of pseudo-surround audio. I will say the THX audio processing is a step above that from either Dolby or DTS. The audio "movement" sounds much more precise and distinguished. The added 7.4 channels of THX audio processing does make a discernible difference in surround audio, being more accurate and localized compared to the competing technologies. Footsteps, gunfire, glass breaking are easier to pinpoint the direction of versus the competitions' audio processing. Same with overhead movements. But, the differences in height information are less noticeable versus the competing technologies. Razer claims up to 70 hours of audio playback with the new BlackSharks. I haven't reached 70hrs yet, but I've been gaming for many hours and still have a bunch of battery left. I doubt I will make 70, but 70 sounds possible in ideal conditions. I can't end the use section of the review without mentioning the BlackShark's aesthetics. There are two VERY important areas that really stand out to me. First is Razer's complete lack of RGB. I double-checked the product & the box. I thought I got the wrong set of headphones. A Razer product without RGB everywhere? Is it possible? Yes. Kudos. A second, and minor addition that may change how I forever look at headphones, a true volume knob. This may be a game changer (pun intended) for gaming headphones for me. So simple. So easy to find during an intense game. So easy to adjust. This simple addition may forever change how I look at gaming headsets. I can't believe more manufacturers don't include it. No more fumbling for buttons, no more adjusting volume with a mouse and Windows. Just awesome! CONS The Razer Active Noise Cancellation is just so-so. Not as good as the class leaders, but not the worst either. ANC may be able to be tuned a little better with future firmware updates, but as of now, ANC is adequate. This is just a personal preference, but I like a flip style mic. It is easier to turn it off and on when you can just flip it up to cut audio. CONCLUSION Would I buy a set of BlackSharks? Yes. Razer's new titanium "Tri-Force" drivers are much improved over their previous generations of headsets. Audio is much more crisp and detailed now with little be drowned out by bass. Razer should be commended for their efforts in improving their gaming headsets. I've always said, that a set of headphones must be able to do all things; music, movies, and games. For me, a set of headphones must be a jack of all trades, even if they are a master of none. Failing in one area will immediately earn a Not Recommended rating from me. With Razer's new set of cans, I can say that they a proving to live up to Razer's hype and are worthy of a Recommended rating. Razer's new driver technology is worth checking out. It improves upon their already good set of headphones. I wish the ANC was better at drowning out ambient noise, but it is decent and I'm sure can be tuned even more. But, when a good movie or game comes up and the THX audio processing kicks in, the ANC is often an afterthought as the surround sound overcomes the outside world as you get lost in a good game or movie. The improved clarity of the drivers and sweet volume knob earn a 5-star rating. RECOMMENDED

Amazing Soundstage and Spatial Awareness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is a comfortable gaming headset that provides immersive high-quality sound. The added features, versatility in connectivity, and padded comfort make these great for long gameplay and for uses besides just gaming. *Construction* The headset itself feels lightweight when on my head but has some heft when held. The memory foam padding on the head and ear cushions provides great comfort during long gameplay. The design of the metal springs around the ear cups allows for airflow around the head that help prevent sweat build-up and give the cups the ability to adjust perfectly to the head. The removable mic is easy to maneuver and adjust, plus stays set perfectly in place. The buttons, wheels, and knobs are intuitively placed for quick changes to the settings. I was skeptical of having a large volume knob sticking out of my headset, but I actually love just how fast I can find and switch up the volume with it. *App* This headset can be customized and enhanced via the Razer Synapse 4 app. The app allows quick switch up between the presets that can also be accessed through a button on the headset. The difference is the EQ can be accessed and changed through the app, and it will remember the new settings. THX Spatial Audio can also be turned on through the app. *Connectivity* Connecting to the PC was quick and simple, with multiple ways to do so. There is an audio jack and USB-A to USB-C provided for quick corded hook-up. Bluetooth connected swiftly but did not show up for me on the Synapse 4 app. Connection through the HyperSpeed dongle is my preferred method. The sound came through better than it did with just Bluetooth and Synapse 4 found it right away. *Sound* The spatial sound is incredibly helpful when it comes to FPS games. I am able to hear which direction activity is located with precision, it makes for an immersive experience and helps immensely in giving me the upper hand in combat. Moreover, it provides perspective and immersion in all other games, making them more enjoyable and realistic. Additionally, the sound is fantastic! Listening to music with the music preset activated, some bass added in, is a luxurious experience. Of course, music in games comes through epically with these! Because of the customizable presets and 50mm drivers, they are versatile in what you can use them for besides just gaming. They provide a personal surround sound, as well as a larger sound stage. *ANC* The ANC works well but is not completely soundproof. I could still hear what is going on around me a little too well. Likewise, the ambient is okay. The sound that comes through sounds natural, but it is not enough to hear much of what is going on around me, even when no sound is playing. Regardless of what setting I put it in, the results are so negligible that it appears as though they are the same setting. *Mic* The mic woks exceptionally well. It picks up my voice nicely even when the mic is farther than the recommended distance and does well at omitting background noise. When I tried it out, there was loud music playing in the same room and the mic picked it up very faintly, yet my voice was crystal clear and crisp. *Conclusion* Overall, this headset works superbly! The sound produced is outstanding, the mic works perfectly, and the comfort and design are great. The only downside I see is the underperformance of the ANC and ambient modes. The THX Spatial Audio, 50mm drivers and customizability with the Razer Synapse 4 app add to the overall value and give me more reason to recommend these over other headsets.

This Headset Sets The Bar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had quite a large number of gaming headsets over the years and the Razer BlackShark Pro V3 is the best gaming headset I have ever owned. It performs at such an elevated level that I cannot imagine going back to any other headset at this point. The audio quality is great. The THX spatial sound works well especially if the game makes native use of the feature. The built-in ANC does a great job eliminating background noise. The microphone picks up my voice without picking up fan noises in the room. Add to that package comfort and a long-lasting battery life and I really cannot say enough good things about this headset. Unboxing: Razer includes the headset, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a USB-C to 3.5mm cable, and the wireless dongle Experience: *You will need Razer’s Synapse software to fully customize the headset. Synapse is easy to use. It is responsive, but there are a ton of customization options from within Synapse such as turning on THX spatial enhancements and other customization options. From within Synapse, you can tell the headset how to manage incoming Bluetooth calls (mute 2.4ghz signal or slightly lower 2.4ghz signal for example), adjust headset latency, customize the indicator light on the dongle, adjust microphone settings, etc. There is truly a lot you can do with this headset, and you will need Synapse to get the full benefits. * This is a comfortable headset. Even without ANC being enabled, the earmuffs seem to naturally drown out a lot of outside noise. I never feel like my ears are getting hot while wearing the headset. If anything, I tend to even forget I am wearing them. Battery life has been good. I have low latency mode enabled which I have noticed drains the battery a bit quicker. But, even still, I have been using the headset for fifteen hours and have only drained about thirty percent of the battery life. Thanks to the indicator light on the dongle, I will know when my headset needs to be charged before the headset gets too low. I cannot say enough good things about the audio quality. Launching into Helldivers was a completely unique experience. Sounds stood out so much more. Everything has a clarity to it that I was not expecting. This is the way many of these games were meant to be played. Some games in my library with the THX enhancements built-in to Synapse include: Hogwarts Legacy, Doom: Eternal, Baldur’s Gate 3, Star Wars Outlaws, and Warhammer 40k Space Marines 2. But even games that do not have these custom enhancements, they still sound amazing. Taking a dive in Subnautica for instance you really get a feel for the deep echoes and chilling noises of the deep ocean. I must applaud Razer for including a 3.5mm adapter so you can use the headset with Xbox controllers or Nintendo Switch consoles. This is a very complete package. My only nitpick is that I have too many wireless dongles on my desk. Please, Razer, pick one. Between the nano receivers of some peripherals, to the dongles of the Adder and the BlackShark, please pick a unifying dongle or release a unifying dongle. I am running out of USB ports. Plus, it is getting to the point where I occasionally notice interference with other wireless adapters such as with the Xbox Wireless Adapter. Conclusion: I love this headset. This is the standard by which I will forever judge gaming headsets. This is amazing. Everything about this headset is top notch and I can easily recommend it. 5/5

Version 3 of a solid gaming headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is the third version of a great gaming headset. I’ve used the V2 Pro for about a year now, and it’s been comfortable and reliable. The V3 Pro makes a few improvements that piqued my interest. This headset features active noise cancellation at 4 levels, which improves on the passive noise cancellation from the over-the-ear pads, which works well on its own. The summer heat makes it hard to focus on the game when playing with speakers, so this headset really does everything necessary to allow me to forget all about the constantly running air conditioner and loud computer fans. Sound-wise, I really enjoy being able to switch presets with the push of a button. The Default setting sounds balanced and works well for anything, Gaming has a litte more bass and treble, Music is convenient for late night Spotify sessions, Movie works for both movies and cinematic games, and finally, Esports, for those who wants enhanced frequencies so that you hear footsteps and enemy movement better. With the Synapse software, you can tweak the presets and decide which games uses which settings. I ended up lowering the bass frequencies down a notch on Gaming and I was happy while playing the campaign in Black Ops Cold War. The bonus sound option on PC is the THX Spatial Audio with 7.1.4 surround sound. THX seems to be only available on PC, and only on certain games. In the Synapse app, I was only able to select THX on Destiny 2 (one of maybe dozen games I had installed), so I’m guessing that the game developers might have to be involved for it to work properly. Hopefully, more games are compatible in the future. Nonetheless, on regular presets, the headset made it easy to hear what I wanted to hear, including enemy footsteps while playing Rainbow Six Siege on my PS5. The wireless connection works great. The USB cable plugs into the Hyperspeed Wireless Gen-2 dongle that offers as little as 10 ms latency. I couldn’t tell any latency while playing, whether on my PC or PS5, so very impressive. To make it even better, you can be connected to your phone via Bluetooth, while being connected wirelessly to your PC/console. There’s also a 3.5mm cable for wired connections. The microphone is removable and has many adjustments in the Synapse app, including mic monitoring, EQ and other adjustments for voice and noise. With proper mic placement and EQ adjustments, the mic sounds nice. The mic can easily be moved back and forth, depending on necessity. Even after wearing the headset for over an hour, it still felt comfortable and almost like I’m not wearing it. It’s easily adjustable too, so it should fit most head sizes. If I had to point out one little criticism, it’s that the volume knob only does the volume in steps, so basically 10%, 20%, 30%, and I found myself feeling that the volume was either a touch too loud or too low. This can be compensated by adjusting the EQ a little bit, but I would love the volume adjustments to be a little smoother. The volume knob is also grippier than the last generation, which is nice for those late night sweaty COD sessions. Overall, a great headset that sounds terrific, feels comfortable, and is even environmentally conscious, according to the box. I recommend it for both single-player experiences and multiplayer, especially if you take advantage of the Synapse PC app. Happy gaming!

Impressive Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro ANC Wireless Gaming headset offers superb sound quality, featuring great bass that doesn't overshadow the mids and highs. The Razer Triforce Bio-Cellulose 50 mm drivers, Gen 2, allow the BlackShark V3 to be a fantastic option for all types of listening. Whether that's music, immersive gaming, or simply watching videos, you won't be disappointed. Its pro-tuned fps profiles and customizable EQ is also something that will not disappoint, truly giving you the option to fine-tune your listening experience through Razer Synapse. The immersion is truly expanded upon with the hybrid active noise cancellation. The THX spatial audio with 7.14 surround sound is incredible and only enhances the listening experience. You have multiple options with the ANC, capable of four different levels, as well as an ambient mode. You can expect ultra-low latency of as little as 10ms with the Razer Hyperspeed wireless Gen 2 2.4GHz connection. You can also dual-connect to two devices simultaneously, allowing you to connect them to your phone and computer, which is a handy feature. Another helpful feature is the configurable game/chat balance control, which allows you to adjust the levels of audio you hear while gaming. Its microphone is a key talking point for this headset, representing an immense improvement over the V2 microphone with a detachable Razer HyperClear full-band 12mm mic. Although it still doesn't compete with a standalone microphone, it remains incredibly reliable as a main microphone, offering good voice detection and making you sound very clear. Picking up minimal background noise, alongside not being too in your face. It also features configurable EQ through the Razer Synapse app, alongside various mic enhancement profiles. If needed, it also features side tone, which allows you to hear what your microphone is picking up for improved monitoring. The headset itself features a fantastic design that closely resembles the already beloved V2 design. They gave the V3 a sleek and clean design, and the black version is uncluttered, with a fully black finish. Although it's tight on the head upon first use, especially if you wear glasses, it becomes incredibly comfortable after you break it in. The comfort comes from the dual-layered flowknit memory foam cushions, allowing for a nice resting on your head. It also has an adjustable padded headband and height-adjustable cuffs. The headset also features a bountiful number of functional on-ear buttons that allow for full control. The device features a hybrid active noise cancellation mode and a microphone toggle button. Alongside a Smart Switch button for EQ presets and various connection modes. There are also two separate volume controls: one for the audio input and one for the configurable game/chat balance control. This is alongside the status indicator and power button. All in all, the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro ANC wireless Gaming headset is a comfortable fit, alongside a listening experience that can be tuned to the user's needs, all while still looking sleek as ever with its impressive design.

Clear and Comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gaming is escapism for a lot of us. Whether it’s to unwind from a stressful day and play Marvel Rivals, or it’s to be immersed in games like Death Stranding 2 or Expedition 33, gaming hits different for each of us. And for someone like me, who games A LOT, I want to have the best tools to be immersed in whatever I am playing. The audio experience is a key element in gaming escapism. My previous headset was solid when it came to the audio delivery, but when it came to comfort, the headset was torture after about an hour. Several months later, I got the Razer Blackshark V3 Pro headset. It’s great to have great sound paired with comfort. Set-Up: Setting up the Blackshark headset is really easy. Please note that I am using my headset for my PlayStation 5 system. The Blackshark uses a dongle to pair the headset. Typically, the dongle will plug in directly into the USB port on the PS5, but because this dongle is designed differently, this isn’t an option. You plug the dongle into the included USB cord and then plug that cord into the USB port on the PS5 or even your PC. I still do not understand as to why Razer approached this set up, but it does not hinder the enjoyment or performance of the headset. You can download the Razer Audio app to your phone as a means to customize your headset, but unfortunately, at the time of the writing of this review, the app had not been updated to accommodate the Blackshark V3, it still listed the V2 headset as the most recent of the Blackshark family. So, I downloaded the Razer Synapse PC app and customized the EQ to my preferred settings. Navigating through the settings menu is easy on PC. There are preset settings for the various gamer types (eSports, broadcasting, Bass Boost, etc). Take your time and find what works for you. Sound: I’ll get straight to the point and say that the audio that the Blackshark delivers is clean and immersive. The first game that I played with this headset on was Death Stranding 2 because that game is all about environmental sounds. The sound of my Tri-Cruiser and Off-Roader vehicles is fantastic. Hearing the low hum of the Tri-Cruiser as you ride past a flowing river that is under threat of an earthquake is fun. Another game that I was eager to hear through the Blackshark V3 was Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 & 4 remake. I love skateboarding and hearing the wheels of my character’s skateboard rush upward off a ramp while the soundtrack plays Alice in Chains. It was like being at the skatepark without leaving the house. I am anxious to use this headset for the upcoming Battlefield 6 game. If you’re a broadcaster, I think you’re going to be very pleased with the microphone quality of the Blackshark. My voice didn’t sound like an echo in a coffin. Your friends will hear you and your chat will hear you clearly as well. Comfort and Design: As I mentioned before, my previous headset, despite having good audio, proved to be torture on my head around the one-hour mark. The headband on the Blackshark V3 has not pinched the top of my head, nor do my ears feel hot or crushed. The memory foam headband and ear cushions gently form around you instead of a hard pressing sensation. The design of the Blackshark is a modern minimalist design. The headset is flexible for comfort, but not loose enough where you’re constantly adjusting to find that ‘right fit’. The microphone is flexible, allowing you to find that precise mouth and microphone distance. The earcups are accommodating for those gamers who wear gaming glasses or prescription glasses. There’s no discomfort. The power button and mute buttons are easy to access, along with the volume dial(s). The one volume knob controls the game volume, while the other volume dial controls the audio that comes through your phone that is paired with the headset. This is great for when you’re using Discord. If you’re a fan of the Razer Blackshark headset series or if you’re new and looking for a sound investment for your gaming experience, then I believe that you will be very satisfied with the Blackshark V3 Pro.

Another Banger Headset From Razer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m always on the hunt for a great headset to boost my gaming experience, and the BlackShark V3 Pro is another standout offering from Razer. After putting it through its paces with my PS5 Pro, I’m pretty excited to jump back into Death Stranding with it strapped to my head. The BlackShark V3 Pro is comfortable for my larger head, and I’ve had no trouble wearing it during long gaming sessions. The controls are easy to use without needing to look, and the overall build feels solid. A mix of plastic and metal gives it a sturdy, high-quality design. The metal volume knob feels satisfying and precise, while the chat mixer feels decent. Fabric ear pads are breathable and kept my ears cool during extended play. Audio quality is excellent. Bass packs a punch, mids are clean, and highs stay smooth. Noise-cancelling adds major value, letting me block out my busy household while focusing fully on the game. With kids and dogs creating plenty of background noise, this feature kept all but the loudest sounds out. The microphone picked up my voice clearly and naturally. My friends reported no dropouts or clarity issues. The boom mic is on the larger side and can be a bit distracting, but it disconnects easily when not in use. Setup with the PS5 Pro was straightforward using the long USB cable and the unique dongle at the end, which provides flexible placement. No interference was had during use. I also connected it to my phone using Bluetooth, which worked well. Dual simultaneous audio sources didn't seem to be a thing, but having the Bluetooth option for music or calls is a welcome bonus. Overall, I really like the BlackShark V3 Pro. Comfort is great, clamping force is light, mic performance is solid, and the sound quality is impressive. The connection to my PS5 Pro worked perfectly as well. I'd happily recommend it to anyone using a console or PC that supports it.

Gaming headset absolutely loaded with features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Razer’s new wireless gaming headset, the Blackshark V3 Pro, is so chock full of features it’s hard to come up with anything it *doesn’t* have. Tons of sound profiles/enhancements/options, active noise canceling, THX spatial audio, Bluetooth, ultra-low latency 2.4Ghz wireless, and so many configuration options–it goes on and on. Sometimes such a laundry list of features can make the user feel overwhelmed, but I felt that the layout of both the physical controls and the enormous amount of configuration options within Razer Synapse were well-organized enough that I felt like I got a good grasp of everything pretty quickly. The headset comes nicely packaged, as is typical for Razer products. You get the headset, the microphone, a USB-C to 3.5mm cable, and a USB-A to C cable for charging and for the 2.4Ghz wireless dongle. I plugged it in to ensure it was fully charged before use. All the cables feel very nice and have the Razer aesthetic. The ergonomics are good–a combination of buttons and knobs and wheels, all put in a sensible place. Little details, like texture on the button to help differentiate them, are a nice touch. The mic mute button? It’s on the side with the microphone. It seems so obvious, but once you’ve encountered consumer electronic devices where those details are overlooked, you appreciate it. The headphone cups are comfortable and the padding all around is thick and very nice. Overall, I like the design, and it’s very functional, and the headset was comfortable for longer gaming sessions. The sound quality is very good. I did try a few movies and some music with this, engaging those presets, and found it to be more than acceptable . Is it “audiophile quality” with music and such? Perhaps not, compared to my very best headphones, but it is very good. The active noise canceling I found to be quite effective as well, and I liked the range of options provided: off, on (with 4 levels), and ambient passthrough. I tried this out with a gaming laptop set to maximum fans, which in turn sat on a laptop cooler pad with its fans turned up. It’s very, very loud under load–louder than my gaming desktop, even. Engaging ANC made it all go away. I came away very impressed with their ANC implementation–it’s one of the better ones I’ve encountered. Gaming is where it’s at though, with these. Synapse catalogs all of your installed games and allows you to adjust the sound presets for each game. Some games will have a THX moniker next to them and allow you to engage the THX Immersive audio preset–I had two installed (Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk 2077). Synapse has a helpful demo to illustrate the THX sound mode as well, but in game I felt it sounded terrific and sound positionality, especially in Cyberpunk, was excellent. For those playing competitive FPS shooters, there are a variety of pre-built sound profiles for each game (COD, Valorant, Fortnite, etc.), and the wheel can also be configured to serve as a volume control for footstep volume when using an eSports EQ. The microphone is similarly blessed with options. It gets its own equalizer, with esports, broadcast, and mic boost presets, a convenient mic preview mode, and a suite of audio enhancements: volume normalization, vocal clarity, mic noise cancellation, and voice gate. The latter one is especially helpful, as it alters the sensitivity threshold for the mic’s pickup. These can all be turned on/off or adjusted with a slider. (Voice gate is high/medium/low, however.) And with the preview mode you can instantly hear what’s being done. I found the mic to be about just about right out of the box, with a little voice boost and noise cancellation being all I added. It works well and sound quality/clarity were very good. Synapse also includes power configurations to save battery. You can have it power down after a preset inactive period (15/30/45/60 minutes), and the indicator lights on the wireless dongle can also be changed to notify you of either connection status, battery status, or low battery warning. In the Synapse enhancement tab (the same place ANC is controlled along with other audio enhancements like bass boost) you can toggle the ultra-low latency mode on or off. On promises ~10ms latency, but turning it off allows for “gaming grade” latency, better range, and extended battery life. I ran with both and found that I was generally fine with it off, preferring the battery life, while competitive esports gamers will likely want to engage this feature. Obviously with Synapse playing such a major role with this headset, the PC gets you the most. But the overall compatibility is broad–coverage includes PC/Mac/Playstation/Switch/SteamDeck/phones–so chances are you’re covered. Overall, it’s a fantastic headset. It’s well-designed and made, the ergonomics and comfort are great, and the list of features (and their configuration) is impressively long. The sound quality is especially good, and if you have games that can use the THX preset, that’s a great bonus, too. The active noise cancellation feature is one of the better ones I’ve encountered anywhere. I found exploring the features in Synapse to be easy to navigate and understand. Ultimately, there’s almost nothing I can really fault it on. Highly recommended!

An Excellent Choice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.COMFORT 9/10: Comes with a mesh memory foam earpads that have a good amount of padding. Also, quite large. My ears do not hit the drivers. Has good adjustability in all plains allowing for a good seal which helps with the ANC. However, with them being mesh don’t get quite as good of passive noise isolation but your ears don’t get hot. So probably a good trade for most people. I do notice some microphonics with it. The top pad is just normal padding. But a good amount that I didn’t have any pain up there. Clamping force is light. Overall, can wear it for long periods. SOUND 8/10: Not the best sounding headset. I think the A50x and Stealth Pro sound better in all regards. However, these are up there in the best that I’ve heard. Great directional audio where you can tell right where the enemy is. Also, have satisfying bass, mids, and highs. Even when listening to music. ANC 8/10: Probably one of the better ANC’s I’ve heard. But with the mesh earcups not as good as the Stealth Pro. They also have a passthough mode which is interesting. But I find it picks up fan noises a bit too much. That normally I wouldn’t hear with the headset off making it useless. As far too annoying to have that on. I like that you have a dedicated ANC button the right earcup on the bottom. Easy to find. And cycles through on, passthrough, off. And announces which mode you are on with a nice female voice. CONTROLS 9/10 : One of the better ones I’ve tried for controls. All buttons feel great to press. Left earcup has your normal volume knob. Which feels excellent and with it sticking out is very easy to find. Then you have the power on/off button. Along with the mute and unmute for your mic. Which depresses and sticks out when active. Which is nice from a tactile standpoint. On the right earcup you have your pairing for Bluetooth. Which works excellent. I had no problems with sound or connection problems. And easily was able to switch to different devices. Also, simultaneous with normal sound. You also have a voice/game chat slider. Which I wasn’t as big of a fan of. Is kind of wonky. Didn’t have enough time to really try out. Then you have the ANC button. BUILD QUALITY 9/10: The entire thing feels solid. I don’t notice any creaking. All buttons feel crisp and aren’t loose. Layout is well thought out. The joints feel good quality. Easily to move but also hold place. No complaints. OVERALL: Really enjoy this headset. One of the nicest I’ve ever owned. And I’ve own way to many of them. All of the flagships essentially for the past decade. While it doesn’t dethrone the best. It is a top performing headset and comes in at less money than those. I really don’t have any cons. The only thing is wish the ANC was a bit better. Wish it sounded a bit better than the A50x or Stealth Pros. And wish it had a quick replaceable battery. Otherwise, it’s great.

Great headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several higher end headsets and this one is up there with them. I primarily use these for the PS5, but do update the firmware to fix the mic issue. For that I used a PC, I believe you can update it through the app as well, I may be wrong. I have not have anyone complain about the microphone, so the firmware has definitely helped. The sound is very crystal clear and plenty loud. I do think they're accurate to help you visualize where the enemy is coming from. The comfort is there and the headset is very light. Light to the point where I feel it's fragile. Hopefully that's not the case and it has good durability unlike the V2 headset from Razer. I'm not the biggest fan of the cable dongle. I do like that you can place it anywhere as long as you have a USB C cable, but i might prefer a simple stick dongle. Some miscellaneous things are: -the volume knob is easy to reach and use -it has sidetone but must be turned on via PC and possibly through the app -good noise cancellation -usb c charging -long lasting battery -different EQs at the touch of a button Overall, this a very good higher end headset. 4.5 stars

Very nice gaming headset. ANC is top notch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a wired headset user for awhile and looking to get a decent wireless headset. I've had a couple wireless ones in the past but none really fit the bill quite right. Either the sound was off, wireless connection was spotty or the headset just didn't fit right for one reason or another. With this headset though, it checked off a lot of boxes for me and I'm thinking I've found my go-to wireless headset now. For background, I've been using Astro A40s, seemingly, forever now. Good sound, mic is clear and static free, fits nicely and is comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. Biggest two cons I had with it were that they weren't wireless and there's no noise cancelling on them. Having used this headset for a few days now, I'm really pleasantly surprised with these and it's coming time to, possibly, retire my A40s. Sound is crisp and clear. Whether gunshots in the distance or footsteps nearby, I can hear everything really clearly. Background noises in game are distinct but not muddled. All of this is aided by the ANC on these headphones. Blocks out quite a bit of the ambient background noise in my place so everything in game comes through crystal clear. Mic is also clear as well and teammates complimented me on how better I sound. Fit is also a plus for me. For those of you with big heads (I wear a 7 1/2 fitted cap) this one fits very comfortably with no head pinch. The earpads are a micro-suede type fabric. Not really my preferred ear pad material but they keep my ears cool during long gaming sessions. Button placement on the headset is quite intuitive so no fumbling around for this or that switch. Volume control is easily accessible and easy to manipulate as well. Only "downside" I can think of is that I kinda wished there was some RGB on this but that's superficial. Main point is these wireless headphones are great and looking forward to more gaming sessions with these bad boys.

Another excellent high-end headset from Razer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the blissful experience of getting to use this gaming headset for over a week and honestly, I am hooked. Razer really knows how to make gaming PC peripherals that just effortlessly blend into my daily use. I really love that this headset supports simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4ghz connectivity and audio! Being able to listen to music and game audio on my computer while watching a YouTube podcast on my phone at the same time is so great and supports my undiagnosed ADHD, haha! The audio of the headset itself is really great. I think that the esports setting is my favorite of the preset options as it seems to emphasize a good blend of mids and treble without going excessive on the bass. The set up of these headphones was very easy. The Razer Synapse 4 software was prepared to update the firmware on the headset and all the settings were able to be managed appropriately on it when I first powered it on with the 2.4ghz wireless receiver plugged in. Speaking of, all the included cables are fabric braided and the 2.4ghz receiver is able to be placed wherever in your set up you need it with the hook up to a USB-C to USB-A braided cable that is about 3-4 feet long. The only thing that I have found to be lacking is ambient noise mode and microphone. I could use more volume on my ambient surrounds when in that mode and I the microphone comes through sounding rather compressed and tinny at times. Altogether, I think this is yet another amazing iteration of the Blackshark gaming headset from Razer and they demonstrate a versatility and usefulness that is bound to be appreciated by most any user!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best headset i've owned after spending the time to set my EQs properly. It took some time to get the firmware updates and software installed and tweaked. Sometimes the software can be janky and needs to be restarted. It has a really good mic, and the software has a lot of useful enhancements. It's got EQ for outgoing mic, and it's better than the old nvidia broadcast noise cancellation. This headset has the most powerful bass of any headphone I've ever worn. It physically shakes your head. Battery life is superb, and the range is insane. I used to have my old headset cut out when I walked to the other side of my apartment to go to the bathroom. Now I can walk all the way to my garage and it doesn't cut audio. The ANC is good, but I don't have anything to compare it to as this is my first headset with ANC. The presentation is clean, no unnecessary RGB barf or logos, just the subtle black one. I wish the volume knob was on the right side, I just have to re-learn muscle memory. The sliding parts that attach to the cans could have a bit more friction so they don't move. The only real issue I have is that the pads are too shallow and my ears touch the inside of the headset. Hopefully some aftermarket/3rd party companies can make some thicker pads for me, but I know this is a new headset and they haven't had the time.

Absolutely Killer Headset & Worth Every Penny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new headset after my old one got uncomfortable and started costing me in-game awareness. After researching and comparing the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro and the Arctis Nova Pro, I went with Razer..and I’m so glad I did. This headset flipping rocks. Super lightweight, insanely comfortable, and the sound is phenomenal. Game presets are spot-on, THX audio is immersive, and the boom mic is removable. Active noise canceling? Yep, and it works great. There were concerns about the mic online, but Razer patched that with a firmware update. Even before the fix, I used Digital Foundry’s setup tips and never had a single complaint about mic quality. This is easily the best headset I’ve ever used for gaming. Comfortable, powerful, customizable. I love this headset, and you will too.

Puts you into the Game
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall these headphones provide immersive gaming and great audio quality due to the large drivers and software provided to tune it to your liking. I found the fit and feel heavier than I like and the foam ear muffs didn’t quite seal as tightly as I expected but that is an individual preference which yours may be different. Because they are large full ear covering headphones they do get warm especially after intense gaming sessions. The removeable mic has its good and bad side but overall I liked it. Bottom line is if you like the fit these headphones will put you into the game vs just hearing it. Pros: - Great immersive and THX sound quality especially for gaming - Good ANC - Vocal updates and status notifications - Synapse 4 software offers lots of options and control - 2.4 wireless and Bluetooth connectivity - Removeable microphone Cons: - Big headphones = can get hot and heavy after a while - Big volume control sticking out of an ear muff – almost Frankensteinish - No RGB - No flip up Microphone mute function - Not the best fit for me around the ears Performance: The Synapse 4 software has a THX demo that really showcases the immersive ability of these headphones. Playing Forza 5 it was quite obvious that the sound was much more immersive. Even playing War Thunder which isn’t THX still provided a much more 3d sound stage than normal. The overhead aircraft sounded directly over me as they flew past my position. In FPS games you definitely get more directional sounds which are an advantage. The microphone is an attachment so it’s not built into the headphones. Because of this it has a separate mute button vs the raise and lower boon type mic on other headphones. I was able to have the headphones connected wirelessly via the dongle while also connected to my phone via Bluetooth. Because it uses voice status updates instead of cryptic beeps all the functions are much easier to perform. All the controls on the headphones were easy to reach and recognize by touch. Razer provides full control of the headphones via the Synapse 4 app which is quite helpful and easy to use. The software list the games on your computer and will actually tell you which games support THX so you can get the most out of headphones. Fit and Feel: These are heavy headphones and the large volume control sticking out of the ear muff give you a sense that they are extra heavy. In reality the fit is comfortable but a tad on the heavy side which combined with the full ear muff can get noticeable over time.

Excellent, comfortable headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this headset. I've struggled to find a headset that I like and this one meets all my needs. ANC is important to me because my PC fans are rather loud and the ANC on this completely removes fan noise. Typically ANC has meant uncomfortable, warm, and heavy headsets, I was shocked by how comfortable this headset is. The fit/comfort for me is perfect. The headset is relatively light, has the perfect amount of clamping force for my head, and doesn't get warm. Sounds good and that's about all I can say about sound. I've been using with the Battlefield 6 beta and the sound immersion is very enjoyable. I'm able to locate enemies via footsteps too so I feel competitive.
