Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the BlackWidow Chroma Keyboard's high-quality build, vibrant lighting options, and extensive customization features. Many appreciate the satisfying key feel, although some find the clicky keys a bit loud. While the software is praised for its ease of use, the relatively high price point is a common concern among buyers.

My son wanted one of these keyboards and I looked at the display model and pressed the buttons to hear the loud clicking sound. I was like there is no way I am paying this much for a click sounding keyboard. After weeks of asking, I finally gave in. It is the coolest keyboard you will ever find. I had no idea that the keyboard lights up - he actually programmed it to be different colors for different games and different seasons. It is really cool looking. It is so amazing the way you can program it to do all these cool design things. He uses it every day - and it turned out to be worth the money!

I'm loving this keyboard. it is a little different for me because it has a different feel than my last one and still playing with the lighting effects.Caught this on sale at best buy for $114.99 most i have spent on a keyboard. the feel and responsiveness of the keyboard is great. My only con would be is that the software seems a little glitchy ive lost controls a couple of times, but going to re-install software to see what happens. With that being said i already had the software due to the razor mouse that i have as well. overall still love the keyboard! would recommend!!!!

    Good Gaming Keyboard

have had this keyboard for over 2 weeks now and have been using it mainly for MMO gaming. Pros: Mechanical keys provide good audio feedback on key presses. Backlit keys. Audio and USB passthrough. Synapse software lets you customize key functions, including disabling keys. The plastic has a nice feel to it. Feels sturdy, difficult to move on accident. Gaming mode can disable accidental key combinations that bring you out of game, and is easily activated. Cons: The Macro buttons add width to the keyboard. The backlighting does not extend to secondary functions of keys. Audio and USB passthroughs are on the right side of the keyboard. May be too loud at times. Personally, I'm not a fan of the font used for the keys. Other: The light indicators for the lock keys goes: Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock. The lock key indicators and the Gaming Mode and Macro lights are blurry, underneath the normal case plastic. Synapse is the software that is used to provide many of the unique features of this keyboard. This is a very nice keyboard for gaming. The macros are easy to set up in Synapse, which allows the use of 10 different hotswappable profiles, using Fn and a number 1-0. One thing that has made my life slightly easier is the ability to easily disable Caps Lock from doing anything at all, though it can be remapped to something else you find useful. Gaming Mode can be linked to a specific program using Synapse or manually toggled by pressing Fn+F10. Using synapse, you can have Gaming Mode disable key combinations that bring focus away from your game, such as Alt-Tab, Windows Key, or Alt-F4. With the mechanical keys, I sometimes become aware of how active my hands get. The keyboard is loud, loud enough that I can hear it while also listening to team mates talking in voice chat through my headset. One con I found about this keyboard is the extra width. It took me a day to adjust to the width, as occasionally I'd misplace my hands initially, roughly a row or two farther right than where they should have been, as if my mind subconsciously uses the left edge of the keyboard as the main reference point. I am a little disappointed that the backlighting does not cover the secondary key functions (what you hold shift or Fn to use, such as !@#:"<> as well as volume up, down, mute, play/pause, music forward, and music back buttons). Unfortunately, the passthroughs are found on the right side of the keyboard. With my desk setup, this means that I am occasionally bumping into my headset cables with my mouse hand.

    Very solid

The landscape of mechanical keyboards is littered with tons of different products, all with different stats, specs, and build quality. Razer products have a reputation in some circles as being less than reliable, and on the low end of the build quality spectrum. However, there was some positive word of mouth about the Chroma, so I decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. As the title of the review states, the build quality is very solid; it's heavy and substantial. The Razer Synapse software lets you define key macros and individually control the color of the LED beneath each key, so that works well. There's also a game mode which disables the Windows key, which is a feature that is much appreciated. It also has full NKRO, headphone jacks, and a USB port, so you're never left wanting for features. I think my only real complaint with the board is that the Caps / Scroll / Num lock lights are extremely dim, and it's a bit difficult to tell whether or not they're even on. A minor complaint, but still.

The ability to dim the brightness of the lights, the performance and quick response, the way the keys feel...it's incomparable to any other keyboard.

The very first night the colors got stuck at one color in only a few random buttons. I changed the color setting to cycle through and it corrected itself. Otherwise, the buttons work great and the overall quality is solid. The colors are awesome and I can configure it any way you'd imagine.

Pros: Custom key colors, sync setting to cloud, continuously updated software, program specific color combos, pass-thru USB Cons: Caps lock, number lock, scroll lock indicator lights are hard to see; though not intended to be quiet, audible key clicks are louder than expected.

This keyboard is off the hook. It has so many options I have yet to discover them all. If you are a gamer or even a music composer this is your keyboard. I have used this keyboard for several months now and I have never been so satisfied. Love the lighting options, often when gaming or composing I prefer a dark environment and it is nice to be able to choose the color of the keys so they don't distract. I say five star, try it if you are on the edge, best buy has always treated me well even if i don't like my first choice.

    Clicky Goodness

This keyboard is bloody amazing, great key response and feel. I really needed to get a RGB keyboard because my build theme is blue and very few keyboards were offered in that color. I first gave Corsair - Strafe RGB MX Silent Gaming Keyboard a go but I hated it. Keys had different sounds depending on which ones I pressed (different mashy sounds) and the keys felt mushy and unresponsive. The keyboard is the opposite and I have been in love since day three. The reason for that is one of the two problems that I had with it. The 5 keys on the left of the keyboard felt out of place because I was used to having my hand placement all the way to the corner and not a bit to the right. The first 2 days I hit one of the side keys more often than not trying to hit shift or tab. I adjusted slowly and now it doesn't bother me, something to keep in mind though. The other problem is the placement of the USB port on the keyboard. It is on the left side of the keyboard where the mouse is, if you put anything in there other than a wireless dongle then you could have a big problem with the mouse and the wire coming out of it. This is still probably the best RGB keyboard around and I love it. Recommend.

I was looking for a backlit keyboard with color optimization, that could stand up to a decent amount of abuse. I found it here. This thing is built like a small tank. For a gaming keyboard, it's got a fairly small footprint. My desk space is grateful for this. :P The lettering on the keys is larger. This works well for me, as I'm partially blind. All in all, after a month or so of use, I think this is the best keyboard I've owned. My only complaint is the price, but sometimes you have to pay for quality. :)

I bought this for my son who plays overwatch for his birthday and he absolutely loves it. The different lighting is very cool but I think he likes the feel of the keyboard even more. It is like typing on an old electric typewriter and makes it very easy to type. A little expensive for a keyboard but the boy absolutely loved it!

Mechanical keyboards have so many benefits and are much better than the standard keyboards we get now, though this keyboard is expensive, you are paying for the LED lights, if you don't need that get a cheaper keyboard, but this clicking feel is amazing and worth it.
