Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Blade 15.6" gaming laptop's impressive performance and solid build quality, frequently praising its portability and excellent display refresh rate. However, some users noted that the laptop can get quite warm during intensive use and that the price point may be high for some consumers. The loud fan noise during gaming sessions was also a recurring concern for a few customers.

Great build quality, but a bit overpriced

As the title says, the aluminum unibody is sturdy and rigid with minimal flex around the keyboard area. The palm rest area does get a bit hot while gaming, but not to the point where you can't keep your hands on it. Overall a great product, but if you want to spend less, you can get more performance for cheaper while sacrificing build quality with other gaming laptops.

The Laptop works fine. I love the refresh rate on the display and the size of it is amazing. It's on the heavy side of things with the high quality materials that its made out of. Overall excellent laptop. The charger came in defective making clicking noises under stress. It took a while to get it taken care of but whatever...

    Great Video Editing Laptop

This has been great for video editing with Adobe premiere. I had previously purchased a Dell XPS 15 with i7 32gb ram and a 1050ti. The 1050ti was not powerful enough to handle the 4k footage in premiere so I returned and purchased this. The 1060 MaxQ works great for editing and I was able to upgrade the ram to 32gb easily. For the price, I think this is a great value! Performance aside, I think this is a great looking laptop, I'm not a gamer and I enjoy the professional look of this.

Been playing tons of games on this laptop and I've only had it for a few days. All games I've ran so far work flawless. Biggest con is the laptop gets really hot after an hour of gaming. Had to use a fan cooler to keep it cool while gaming. We'll see how to runs in a few months.

I am pretty happy with this gaming laptop. I finally ditched my old laptop, and my desktop, and consolidated into one all purpose unit. I was finally able to play some games I owned on Steam but hadn't been able to play No Man's Sky. I also hooked it up to three Philips Hue lights, and it was pretty grand to see the lights, screen, and keyboard play well together. It has run very smoothly so far, and I am pretty happy with it.

This laptop runs flawlessly. I use it to DJ music videos to multiple screens at full quality without any issues. The gaming experience is flawless and the build quality and customization is too notch. I would no doubt in my mind again, but this thing is a workhorse and don’t think I’d be needing to purchase one any time soon since it’s proven it’s durability time and tone again

Bought this for Black Friday with $200 off. Got the 1060 version since I could ride over to a local Best Buy and pick it up same day. I love the look of this laptop and the performance is all there (though the WiFi reception was poor in my home). The screen is ok (1080p 144 hz) but not amazing. The keyboard layout is terrible, most notably the right shift key and the super sharp leading edge near the trackpad. Speaking of the trackpad it is the highlight of this machine! Glorious surface and tons of real estate. But for the price tag, I need a lot more than a sexy looking device and a wonderful trackpad. My search for a do everything laptop continues!

It's a good, but the 2019 RTX models are better

The 2018 Razer Blade 15 models are great, but they lack three important things in comparison to the updated 2019 RTX models. Firstly they lack backlit secondary function keys. This was huge to me, especially when using my laptop in bed or in darker rooms. I couldn't see which keys were my brightness adjustments and which were my volume adjustments. These are backlit on the 2019 version. Secondly with the new RTX models the laptop is slightly thicker. Not enough to notice, but enough to improve thermals significantly and allow the laptop to run cooler to this 2018 GTX counterpart. Lastly the 2019 models have Windows Hello. A function this 2018 model does not have. This is still a good buy if it's discounted, but I wouldn't pay the "Razer premium" price.

Wonderful machine. I use it as my daily driver. I don't run games on it as mush as I thought. I have a gaming desktop and thought this would kind of replace but it doesn't quit do it. BUT, if you are wanting to run a heavy duty IDE and emulator and about 10 Chrome tabs and maybe another program......WOW it does it amazingly! Thermals are good. I came from a surface book. The only thing I wish this laptop had was different vents. I wish they were on the side, con't put this on top of a pillow. The panel is amazing no complaints, main reason I got it. All in all it is amazing! The only ONE MAJOR thing I wish it had was bio-metrics. I had to get a small fingerprint scanner. And Razer need to fix Synapse 3 it sucks.

Probably one of the best overall built laptops as of 2018. The fan can get pretty loud when under heavy duty work. Razor’s hardware is good quality as always. Expect freezing or crashing, which happened to mine about 3 times in 4 months, but I guess that’s just the nature of Microsoft’s softwares. P.S. Webroot Security is pretty useful, get that.

bought this for my son- he loves it's speed, the way it can fold backwards and basically be a tablet, thin profile, everything! he's a real computer geek so if he likes it, and picked it out- believe me, he did his research- and promises me this will last him for years to come (into college, let's hope!- he's 17/junior in high school now)

This laptop is sleek and has great performance for something so slim. However with the thermal throttling and the fingerprint attracting chassis, the laptop leaves something to be desired
