Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the Blade 15.6" gaming laptop's screen, citing its high-definition graphics and amazing display. However, some customers noted that the laptop can get quite warm during use, although this is sometimes considered acceptable given its size and performance. The balance between battery life and heat generation was also a point of discussion. A few customers suggested considering a higher-end model for improved cooling.

Overall 95/100 Pros: - Very Fast - Superb Speakers - Sleek and beautiful laptop design - Its a Razer Laptop! Cons: - Low SSD storage for base model (not a problem, you can upgrade it) - 60hz only but its still good - not individual letter chroma on keyboard Base model is best than the advanced model simply on my preference because its budget friendly for a gaming laptop on under $2000, you can also upgrade the SSD and HDD in which the advanced model doesnt have, and ITS A RAZER BRAND. Best professional Gaming PC EVER!!! Ready to jam, right out of the box. The horsepower power inside this laptop is incredible. Hi-Def graphics display does not disappoint. I'm using the Nari Razer headset in combination with the laptop and enjoying every sweet second of game play. The purchase included one free copy of Call of Duty, which is a nice add. Extremely satisfied customer, highly recommend this product!

This laptop from the first day I got it was beautiful. The smooth case, the colorful lights, the bright display--all of it. However, it does have it's downsides, one being the lack of quality of the display, and the power of the GPU compared to its newer and more refined brothers. If you have the extra money, I would go for the 144hz screen with a better GPU over this one. However, if you are the casual gamer/student/video editor/cryptominer this laptop will do its job for you without breaking into Macbook Pro territory.

I will be honest. I was skeptical at first due to some poor reviews. They went either way. Youtube reviewers praise this laptop as one of the best, if not the best gaming laptop. Yet people on here or other sites will give it one star reviews. Perhaps they received a faulty model, which happens rarely, and doesn't summarize the laptop as a whole. Anyway, I had an Alienware R5 17 I returned for this. Excellent laptop and more powerful, with a 1440p 120hz Gsync screen and a desktop grade 1070GTX overclocked. The issue it was simply too large to carry around all day. As a desktop replacement, I would highly recommend it. So I squeezed the trigger on the top tier Blade (144hz, 1070, 512 ssd). My first test was to see if there was any backlight bleed. Fired it up, and literally none. I was happy about that. The second test was keeping it on a flat surface and testing the speed / temps. I started downloading a few games, had Youtube videos playing, and loaded up the CPU / GPU with a few other programs. The temps never exceeded 85c for the CPU, and GPU never broke 70c. Fan noise was very minimal. The real test was gaming. I booted up Shadow of the Tomb Raider and put it on Ultra settings. It was able to sustain 60-70 constant fps. I gave it an hour and checked temps. The CPU never broke 93c, and had an average of 75c. The GPU never broke 80c. I was extremely pleased to see this. For gaming, I did use a basic laptop cooler however. The settings were also left on default (fan / gaming mode that is). So the build quality is fantastic. People claim its a fingerprint magnet? Wash your hands. Unless you're super greasy you won't have any issues. People claim theres major backlight bleed. Perhaps the very first batch had issues, I'm not sure, but I'm glad I held off a few months. Ultimately it's an excellent laptop. I had this and the Alienware side by side and a made a comparison video on youtube. If you want more information you can find it by searching Alienware R5 17 vs. Razerblade 15. Both are excellent machines, but to have nearly identical power in such a small package is amazing. Lastly, I have heard many things about Razer support. This worried me, in case there was a future issue. My thought behind the matter is Razer expanded exponentially once they created this new line, and started selling a lot more product. They probably had to play catch up to meet the customer's needs and demands for a while. Furthermore, the first of Blades / Blade pros were more issue prone. I must say though, I had an issue with product registration and used their live chat. I got a response within a minute, and the rep fixed my issue within 10 minutes. So if you're considering this laptop, I would ignore the negative reviews and test it for yourself. Worst case, you return it. Watch Youtube videos on the matter. It was praised. Hopefully this guides you in your purchase

The programs and game i use it for run great! It almost never freezes, the only down side its that it can heat up quickly but is understandable due to its size. Great purchase!

Nice laptop... just not giving me the performance I was looking for. The Max-Q GPU is great if your looking for longer batter life and lower heat then prior Razor laptop. Returned it because it did not meet the needs I have for a development gaming laptop.

I would have to say this laptop is a beast honestly but there are a few issues I will let yall in on before purchase. the biggest one is how hot it gets when playing. the only game I played hardcore on this was Subnautica, without it being connected to the wall the heat would be mild but after maybe 1 and half hours of playing the battery will almost die on me needing to be plugged in. Once plugged in whilst playing this bad boy would be hotter than the Devil's toenail burning my little testes requiring me to separate it from my lap with an object(pillow or jacket) no I do not own a desk. the fan gets mildly obnoxious as in it's not too loud but noticeable unless you have a headset. The hotkeys like turning up the brightness or tuning the volume were annoying because you have to hold the FN button to use these hotkeys but I kinda fixed the issue by using the chroma function by color coding the hotkeys for brightness i.e. made them blue to stand out but one I hold the FN but the whole top row and arrow keys turn blue kinda defeating the purpose of color coding it. Maybe I just need to play with chroma a little more. One last problem I was facing that was extremely annoying was the fact whenever I would simply shut my computer off and when I do I EXIT OUT of EVERY WINDOW OPEN BEFORE TURNING OFF. I come back a later time to use my computer and whoa and behold twitch is open as well as Spotify and that gosh dang notorious MCFREAKINGFEE!!! And what is more aggravating is that I wouldn't have had any of the apps running before my last login or before that I can go weeks without using these apps and it would open it itself as well as having to constantly put it back on battery saver mode everytime I reopen the laptop. Other than that the laptop is a beast not perfect but I feel great whipping it out no pun intended oh and when typing the sharp edges really start to hurt your wrist as in it cuts into you but I heard the new model fixed that

Please never buy this product from Razer since they have lots of issue with the wifi adapter that they use. None of my other devices have problem with the wifi (home, work, cafe), and this Razerblade can stay connected for more than 10 minutes. Never again!

I have zero complaints so far, other than being a finger print magnet, but im getting a Dbrand skin anyways. Speakers are great and the screen is amazing. For me personally it is worth the price. Get the protection plan because I read razer QC can be a pain to deal with, and I have never had an issue with Best Buy's warranty

    Terrific power laptop

I purchased the Razer Blade 15 2018 base model to be used as a mobile workstation in a light weight and thin profile laptop. So far this laptop has been impressive. Build quality is outstanding. The display is very nice although I would have liked a higher resolution screen but the 1920x1080 is decent. Sound from the speakers is very good. The dual memory storage (m.2 sata and 2.5" sata) allows me to upgrade the total storage from 1.128tb to 6tb total (2tb m.2 ssd and 4tb 2.5" ssd). RAM is also easily upgradable (from 16gb to 32gb). I have had no issues with over temperature or fan throttling as has been reported by some users. I have set up a virtual computer running Windows XP and run a graphics based offline robotic systems programming software package and have seen no issues whatsoever. While I am not a gamer and may not utilize the power of this computer to it's maximum, this laptop seems to be a terrific answer for a thin and light mobile workstation.
