Customers are saying

Customers commend the Blade 18's outstanding performance, noting its ability to smoothly run demanding applications and games at maximum settings, exceeding expectations and rivaling high-end desktops. However, some customers find the price to be high, and while acknowledging its powerful performance, a few also mention that the laptop can get quite warm during use. Despite the heat concerns, many users still praise the overall performance and quality.

Go big or go home with Razer

I’ve had this laptop for over 2 months now and I can surely say razer got it right with this one. I’ve had previous issues with thermals with smaller form laptops, I.e. the 14’ and 16’ with burnt out cards. But the extra fans on this larger 18” form handled the new heat intense 4000 series graphics very well. Razer should really be advertising the 18’ laptops as their main preferred heavy gaming+task intense laptop because software alone will not fix thermals and heating issues with some of their 4000 series smaller form laptops! It’s a beast, handles everything I throw at it. Graphic rendering, editing, 3d modeling, gaming, crisis 3 etc you name it. I guess you get what you pay for because it surely isn’t the most affordable, but for the sleek looks and light but powerful design it makes up for some of that.

The thing is a straight up beast. For the 18" size, it's sleek and elegant. I like the simplicity and it's super thin. The screen quality is absolutely gorgeous. I develop games in Unreal Engine and after just a few moments in UE5, the laptop does get quite hot, so that's something to be aware of. I run it on Epic settings so scaling them down helps. But it does its job just fine. The laptop is quick and responsive. 24 cores and 32 GB ram handles just about anything you throw at it. This allows me to do some of my dev work on the couch and away from my desk. Which is what I got it for. If you want to spend this type of coin on a gaming laptop, I recommend it this one.

Wonderful laptop. Of course on the pricey side but it's a monster. Best Buy made everything super smooth and got the Geek Squad protection to go with it. Highly recommend the Blade 18 and when you're investing so big, be sure to get the Best Buy Geek Squad protection for peace of mind.

    Beautiful display, excellent gaming performance

When I got it home, I immediately updated the display drivers and installed Fallout 76. I set the game to full screen with ultra settings, and it performed flawlessly at the native resolution. No stalls, screen tears, or sluggish frame rates. I have an RTX 3090TI in my desktop system, and the mobile RTX 4090 is a major upgrade. The display is gorgeous with vivid colors and plenty of brightness to play even dark, shadowy games. The keyboard, however, is nearly unusable for gaming. While the keys are very responsive and only need a light touch to activate, the problem is that the keyboard itself is too small. There's just no comfortable way to use WASD without your hand resting on the track pad, and even then, the travel between the keys is too short. It's really easy to hit the wrong key. Since it doesn't make sense to get a heavy laptop that needs an additional keyboard for gaming, the design is flawed. The reason for the small keyboard is the THX speakers on either side. They sound great - far superior to any speakers on a laptop you are used to. But they take up real estate that would be better used for the keyboard. I suspect most people will use headphones anyway. One last note about the mobile RTX 4090 GPU. The key word here is "mobile" because laptops simply can't run a GPU with as much power as a desktop can due to heat dissipation. While playing Fallout 76, the fans were on high speed constantly. It's loud, but fortunately it is not an annoying sound. And it doesn't drown out the onboard speakers. With headphones, you won't notice it. After doing some research on the internet, I discovered that the mobile RTX 4090 performs more like a desktop RTX 4080. All the specs like CUDA cores are roughly 60% of what a desktop RTX 4090 has, and in many games, the mobile version performs worse than a 4080 because of the difference in the maximum power a laptop can tolerate. So be aware that the mobile RTX 4090 is not the same as the desktop version. That said, this is the top of the line GPU you can get in a laptop, and you will probably be happy with the gaming performance.

This Laptop looks and, more importantly. feels study. There's no bend in the screen or body when you apply force, the keyboards doesn't feel fragile or thing. Solid construction. Easy to Undervolt and Overclock if you know what you're doing (watch some YouTube videos if you don't, its a lot easier than it sounds). Once done, this thing is a monster. Playing Crysis Remastered at max settings and resolution, consistent 100 FPS throughout. I'll stop short of fully recommending this for the price. If all you want is a gaming rig and don't care about portability, you can buy and even more powerful Desktop for the same price. If you want a powerful Desktop replacement machine that you can take with you and game where ever, then get this.

    Wifi connectivity issues

Was very excited to game on this beast but unfortunately was not able to due to its wifi card issues… it’ll connect sometimes but once im 5 feet away from my router i lose connection… ive tired everything from uninstalling drivers to reinstalling drivers to older drivers, network resets.. factory resets etc you name it and nothing… i figured it was the pc as all my devices work perfectly even when i was outside with my other devices. The laptop is very nice built well but wouldn’t recommend its price tag. Will be posting pictures from my old blade 13.3 stealth blade speed test and the new blade 18 which wasnt even able to connect to the wifi… from the exact same spot from my bedroom. My router is in another room.

The box that the computer came in was horribly mutilated to the point I was shocked that the computer wasn't broken Though the delivery man was nice he waited for me to check if the computer screen was cracked, or even turned on. Shockingly it wasn't broken like I said. Pros I'm no expert but from my understanding about gaming computer thier quite loud and this once a lot it's quieter then I expected. I haven't taken the computer to it's extreme, but it handles all my tabs a old maple story like game in the background while I play Skyrim or Baldae gate 3 on Highest graphics settings, Gets a little loud while doing that but not too hot that I can't touch the keyboard. Pro and con It's a big laptop it's a nice screen it's amazing however this also a pro it also a Con mean it's way less portable and when you think laptop on the go that is a bit a of Con, The computer itself isn't that heavy however it's not light either although it is it is do able if you wanted to take on car trip airplane trip it might take up more room then willing. Over all the laptop so far is amazing I love it.

Amazing, I have tried high-end laptops from ASUS, Alienware, and CLEVO. Nothing else comes close to this Razer. I am 6'4 and 260 lbs and I can still feel this in my backpack so if there is any con, that is it. There are some major questions about reliability based on other models so I grabbed Best-Buys membership/warranty total tech thing. I hope I don't have to use it, but if I do it will be well worth the price.

The Razer Blade 18 with the RTX 4090 is really what past customers have expected when purchasing. Earlier versions ran a bit hot, but they've solved the cooling issues with this one. It is comparable to a high-end custom desktop, smoothly running everything at max graphical settings. It's not just a gaming laptop anymore; it's a serious consideration when wanting to get a great PC.

I've tried all the higher end gaming laptops on this site. This unit is as good as it gets. I love the 18 inch screen and I don't care its not mini led. I have that on my macbook pro M2 and its fine, but the bigger 18 is sooooo great for gaming and content. I play all the AAA games at max settings on "silent" mode in Razer's settings, and the fans don't even come on most of the time. If they do, its silent. Runs very cool and quiet, which I like because honestly I'm a macbook fan and I hate loud fans. Make sur to get BB warranty on this! I don't write reviews often, but this unit is the best out right now.

What a gem. High quality construction. Beautiful screen. Sent an m18 4090 back to dell for issues. Could t be happier with this as the replacement. My only small complaint is i wish the keyboard was bigger like the m18. Otherwise this is it. Screen 10/10, speakers 10/10. Battery 8/10. Aesthetic look 10/10. Keyboard 6.5/10. Heat 8/10 noise 8/10 charger 10/10 weight (for the size) 9/10 (the m18 alienware was HEAVY). Best buy open box experience 10/10!
