Quiet & silky-smooth strokes with precision

These keys are so smooth. I typically use a keyboard with a lot of feedback and that’s on the louder side which is quite the opposite of my typical experience. The pressure I normally use when resting on my daily driver is probably too much to use on this and not expect incidental keystrokes. And I can see why it would be something sought after for those who want as little ambient sound as possible yet still need to type.
However, there is a noticeably present firmness in the volume knob. This firmness is highly appreciated as this keeps any incidental graze of that knob from triggering a large spike or drop in volume. Especially for those who frequently use their number pad rather than the number row.
The multi-connection abilities are fantastic and easily recognizable. When selecting a specific Bluetooth connection, numbers 1-3 will light up to give a visual cue of exactly what connection you are using. Setup can be different across devices but my Surface picked up the connection almost immediately after switching to an unpaired Bluetooth connection.
Software setup was a breeze, but the amount of space required to add the entire suite of programs is rather large. Most are not necessary for all users. Updating the firmware took little effort as the software package provided a near automatic update process.
Overall, this is a fantastic gaming/work keyboard for those who need something responsive and quiet. It has everything from flashy RGB lights to hidden macro storage and execution all in a well-built and great looking frame. You definitely get high level quality at a high premium.

My overall experience with this keyboard has been great. Since I type a lot for work, the red optical linear switches are perfect. Typing feels smooth, responsive and overall quiet compared other keyboards that I've tried. Playing Warzone 2 on this keyboard feel great, there isn't any noticible input lag.The ability to switch between multiple devices via bluetooth is perfect for my use. Having the volume scroller and media control button right next to it, works really well in my every day use. The customomizabilty of the lighting effects is really nice and you can really make it your own by experimenting with the Synapse software. I like the sleek design that although may not stand out compared to to others, it doesn't come with those extra buttons that add to the footprint/size of the keyboard. Although this keyboard is relatively expensive, it comes with a lot features and functionality that ensures I'll be using this keyboard for years to come.

Great Wireless Razer Keyboard

Yes, there are cheaper RGB gaming keyboards and I would love if this was in the $150 range. I wanted to stay in consistent with my other Razer devices and wanted a wireless keyboard. I do love the keyboard, low profile, feels sturdy and well built, I'm personally not a fan of the gaming loud clicky keys so these keys feel great to type in. I WFH most of the week, so I have to recharge 1x a week. I could probably tweak my settings more to make the battery last longer. I've had this for a few months and have no issues.

Best Keyboard I've Ever Used

I've not been a huge Razer fan in the past, but this is far and away the best keyboard I've ever used. I love the low profile keys, design, and overall weight. The optical switches are satisfying to use without being obnoxiously loud. The old Razer software was abysmal, but the newer Razer Synapse software is very fast, responsive, and easy to use. I have had the keyboard for over 2 years now and it still shows almost no signs of wear and still works flawlessly. I was hesitant to purchase such an expensive keyboard, but I'd buy this one again in a heartbeat. Worth every penny!

Hands Down a Great Keyboard Gaming or Not

I usually prefer a mechanical keyboard, but the Deathstalker Pro Optical gaming keyboard has one me over. It has also won my wife over since there is no more clanking the keys. The Response time of the keys are amazing, the low profile makes it a lot easier to switch gears from work to play. Using the Razer Synapse program you can customize the keyboard any way you want. The on-the-fly Macro Recording makes saving your favorite keystrokes into a simple push of a button. By pushing the Function button and F10 at the same time puts you in Game Mode and disables the Windows Key, Alt & Tab and the Alt+F4 functions so you accidently don’t hit them in the middle of a important battle. There are also shortcuts for changing your light settings.
There are three ways to connect your keyboard to your computer, Type C cable, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz dongle. It also comes with a USB extender to move your dongle closer to your keyboard,
The aluminum chassis is solid and heavy, you won’t have to worry about it sliding around in an intense gaming session. The Deathstalker also comes with media controls in the way of a roll bar and a push button. The button will pause, skip forward or skip backwards depending on how many times you press the button. The roller will turn volume up or down depending on which way you roll it. If you push down on it the roller will mute the tract.
This is my new favorite keyboard, might have to get rid of those loud clunky mechanical keyboards.

I've been using this keyboard for a few weeks now and the bottom line is, details to follow, that it is now both my primary gaming keyboard as well as my primary work keyboard. Let me explain...
With the Razor apps that you download to support the keyboard, you can customize the heck out of this thing. You can both download and create custom profiles on the keyboard depending on which game(s) you're playing. It also comes with some nice features I find useful in my work from home environment as well.
The softness of the keys make typing on this thing a dream. And while I may miss the loud CLACK CLACK CLACK of an old school keyboard, the smoothness of the keys on the DeathStalker V2 are almost like a massage for my fingertips and I type all day on my keyboard.
And when it comes time to game after work, I move the USB adapters from my work laptop to my gaming machine and I'm ready to go.
The only thing I really get frustrated by with this keyboard is the battery life. If you have any kind of cool pattern going on the keyboard with the LED lights and they're bright enough to see both during the day and at night, the battery needs to be charged quite regularly. Its understandable, but also frustrating. I do wonder why my smartphone can lat for days on a full charge but my keyboard can't unless I dim the lights and decrease the awesomeness. That is my only complain though because you can just plug it in at night and you've got a fully charged keyboard for the next day.

So technically, this is my actual first mechanical keyboard purchase. I have demoed other keyboards at stores, but I decided to try out Razer first with the option to return if I did not end up liking it. Well, I decided I am not going to return this, I just love this keyboard too much now!
Before this, I was using the Logitech MX Keys laptop style membrane/scissor keyboard for everything, work and gaming. It was great for a while, until it wasn't. Multiple issues with connectivity and slow response time. This Razer keyboard is most definitely a night a day difference in terms of responsiveness and overall feel. The key switches are very smooth a quiet, and the low profile feel is very welcome coming from all membrane laptop style keyboards. It is also quieter than I expected, although according to some reviews I've seen you can improve the feel and sound further by lubing the stabilizers. I don't game FPS games competitively often, but in all gaming scenarios my performance has improved even after not playing for months.
On top of the gaming, I use this keyboard for my work from home job as well. I work a lot with excel and have to type in a lot of numbers every day, so the full size with the numpad is very useful. I mostly use the hyperspeed wireless connection and occasionally the bluetooth on my phone. This keyboard just feels much more natural to use every day than the Logitech I had before it, granted that one is not mechanical.
I know people have complained about the Synapse software, but I actually really like it. There is so much customizability with the RBG effects and power saving features, you can really tune it to your own liking very easily. The RBG looks amazing even at only 50% brightness.
The only thing I can see being an issue here is the price, especially since you can get a nice custom mechanical keyboard for half the price. But this is still an excellent option if you appreciate the extra features like I do, the see through customizable RBG lighting, wireless connectivity, and the low profile feel.

Responsive, Bright and Extremely Customizable

I was in the market looking for an advance keyboard for gaming along with customizing quick keys for my daily activities. I decided to give this a try and was extremely impressed with the customizability and the brightness of the keys.
The keyboard is nicely packages and can tell the company takes consideration and care. It comes with a nice long cord with a dongle if you wish to use WIFI. Setup was very ease to perform and the software was very easy to install. Note that the software is not needed as plug n play works just fine for the basic usage with lights on the keyboard. Also there are already pre-programed keys you can use to check on the charge level and brightness instead of going through the software.
The software is amazing, extremely customizable for any advance to expert user. It does take into consideration for novice users as it provide an "Chrome Studio" that will perform most of the pre-set features. However if you wish to go to the next level in customization you are able to with the amount of settings and apps this connects with. I especially loved how it will sync with Phillips Hue! There is a ton that can be performed here so recommend taking your time and go through each setting and try it out! The Chroma Workshop is great and provide a great insight of all the abilities it can perform. I was impressed on how much it can sync with many of the triple A games out there.
The hardware itself feels very polished with the keys smooth to the touch. The keys are padded so it not loud nor mechanical sounding when pressing the keys. However there is one issue that may become an issue for some. The "buzzing / humming" sound that emits from the keyboard behind the "WASD" keys. Upon speaking with technical support it was discovered that there is a capacitor on the motherboard located behind those keys that hums when illumination is enabled. If you turn off the illumination there is no buzzing sound however not recommended as half the features are for the illumination settings. The "buzzing / humming" sound is light but is very noticeable. A replacement keyboard was sent to me however the sound was still there. I was informed that the company has switched out that particular capacitor in August so hopefully from that point forward the sound will be gone.
Overall this is an amazing keyboard, full of customizations and feels great to use. If you receive one of these with the buzzing / humming sound I recommend contacting Razor technical support. The support staff have been amazing, very kind and helpful a huge factor when comes to showing support for companies.

This keyboard is amazing. Love the feel and build quality is great. Price can be scary but after a few months of use I can say that it was worth it. Low profile, super responsive switches. Bluetooth connections are great for controlling multiple devices and onboard RGB memory is a nice touch. Battery life is AMAZING for a full size wireless kayboard.

The Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro is a decent keyboard overall, but suffers from some issues holding it back from a full five stars
The DeathStalker comes with two different types of switches, Optical Reds (the one mine came with) or Optical Purples. The switches to me feel a little mushy, and to make an input, you need to press down a lot harder than on mechanical switches. The keyboard is hot swappable though, so if you find optical switches you do like, you are able to switch out the stock switches for those.
There are two different ways you can use the keyboard. You can either use a bluetooth connection, or you can use the provided usb device in order to have a 2.4 GHz connection. Just a note, it's not very clear in the instructions on where this device is, but it will be in a compartment underneath your keyboard near one of the feet you can pull out.
Now this keyboard feels great to use when it works, however there is a huge issue I ran into while playing a few games. Sometimes when pushing down on a key (thus putting in an input) the input wont go through and the keystroke won't register. This can be a huge issue for people like me where in games every keystroke matters. The keyboard was great until this happened, but hopefully it won't end up becoming a consistent issue
The Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro overall is a great keyboard with a lot of options. The response time of the keys is fast, and there's not too much noticeable input lag. However sometimes there's no repsonse from the keys, as well as it feels pretty mushy to press overall. Whether that's worth the hefty price tag is up to the beholder, however I would think heavily before purchasing this again.

Great Input and Reliability - One Minor Issue

- Extremely responsive, zero latency
- Battery life during normal use seems phenomenal
- LEDs are fantastic as expected from Razer, bright and accurate
- Linear switches are a learning curve, but outstanding
- Software has been simplified and refined
The battery life is hit or miss because the lights don't seem to turn off when the computer is put to sleep or shut down. This is either a bug with the keyboard firmware or Razer Synapse itself. My battery went from 70 to 18 over night due to this. I'll be reaching out to support soon to see what's up with this since any online research is flooded with reviews only. Only reason why I docked a star.

Good quality keyboard but doesnt necessarily justify the price. I suppose in a world of high quality mechanical keyboards this is a relatively understandable price and if you like flashy customizability with rgb this keyboard is pretty good.
Of the low profile mainstream keyboards, i prefer this one over the logitech g915. The keycaps and feel when gaming or typing is a much higher quality than the g915. The linear switches are very sensitive and is great for gaming but i guess i have lazy fat fingers so when i rest my fingers on WASD i accidentally press keys.
Possibly the tactile switches would offer better resistance. Since they typicay have higher spring resistance.

Keyboard is amazing. Great size, the ability to keep it plugged in at a desk or switch to wireless when you need distance or to reduce the number of cables you are using. The only issue I have had is imply getting used to having such responsive keys as the pressure I used to use resting on a key is at the threshold of pressing the key with this keyboard. But that is all user error! Nothing to fault the keyboard, just get ready for laser switches!

Good with Some Issues

It feels like good quality. It has the right weight and the RGB function works well if you’re running its software.
My first issue was that at least once a day, it somehow loses connectivity to my computer, unless it is wired. Suddenly it stops responding and the key numbered 1, keeps blinking. I have to turn it off then on again and wait. Then it works okay for a couple of hours or so until it repeats that process. The reason I ordered it was because it could be wireless if I wanted, but it needs to be stable. I’ve included a couple of pictures to show that behavior. This happened on a gaming desktop and on a gaming laptop.
The second issue was the battery ran out too quickly the first time I used it. I assumed it was just because it was not fully charged, and I didn’t wait long enough to try it wireless. But as I write this review, the accompanying Razer Synapse software shows it is at 17%. I charged it the previous day to full and I have used it for just a few hours since. It seems that you need to turn it off completely when not in use, so it doesn't run out too quickly.
It does feel solid and is very responsive both wireless and wired. That is one of the advantages of optical keyboards when well implemented. Excellent for gaming as well as everyday typing, although it almost feels like a waste to use it for anything else other than playing games. I had no issues with functionality .
I like that you can create profiles for different games. For me, that’s a must in any keyboard that are labeled as gaming. The RGB function is fine and not intrusive.
One thing to note is that it feels premium and is heavy, which is a must for good gaming. However, it does not look premium. It’s almost a contradiction. Sure, feeling premium is great, but we want it to look that way too.
I sincerely would like to give it five stars, or at least four, but because of those issues, especially the two major ones listed above, I can’t.

The keyboard is very responsive to the user input and I enjoy using it while I game and do work but I do find the keyboards stands to be very faulty. They broke within about 2-3 weeks of owning the device, I take care of the device and didn't use a lot of pressure but alas the stands still broke off after some time.
The build quality however is very well done with the actual keyboard itself, I really enjoy using the keyboard and would recommend this to anyone who needs a good gaming keyboard!
