Overall, this is a halfway decent microphone. If you like the fancy colors, I expect you’d be happy with it. For gamers or discord chatters, this is a good choice. If you are recording a podcast or something like that, you might want something with better noise isolation and improved vocal clarity. If you intend to hold the microphone in your hand like a Gen Z YouTuber, definitely steer clear. This mic works best sitting on a desk or mounted on a stand out of range of any touching or bumping.
UNBOXING
The microphone came in a standard cardboard box. I appreciate that a printed quick-start guide was included so I didn’t have to search online to figure out the basic features. And this one was printed with incredibly nice paper and metallic ink—a neat touch. The box also included the obligatory Razer stickers.
CONSTRUCTION
The first thing I noticed is that the mic itself is much lighter than I would have expected. The stand, and especially the base, are heavy and sturdy enough, but the microphone housing itself is plastic with not much inside. This was a red flag because usually a microphone housing like this would be weighted to minimize unwanted vibrations. See below about the sound quality.
Other than that, the product looks great. The touch panel on top and the volume knob front and center feel nice and seem to be responsive. The included desk stand is in two pieces: a weighted base with rubber pad on the bottom, and a fork that affixes to the microphone via a screw knob on each side. There’s a standard microphone screw mount on the bottom of the fork as well as the bottom of the mic itself, so it’d be easy to mount on a different mic stand if you choose.
COMPATIBILITY
The specifications indicate that this product requires Windows 10. I was pleased to find out that this is not entirely true. The microphone registers without drivers through any USB port (tested with MacOS), so presumably you only need Windows 10 if you want to install the Razer software that lets you do fancy things with the lights. Even without downloading the software, the product is quite functional, including basic light modes. It shows up as an input device as well as an output device (more on the headphone jack below).
The included cable, for some reason, is a USB A to USB C. The mic has a USB C jack on it and expects a USB A port on your computer. I assume you could substitute a standard USB C cable but I didn’t try it.
SOUND
For a microphone that retails for $130, one might expect halfway decent sound quality. “Halfway” is about all you’re going to get from this. The overall design is modeled after a traditional large diaphragm vocal mic, the standard in the recording industry for decades because of its beautiful clarity and warmth for vocal sounds. However, this is not a large diaphragm mic; it contains a smaller condenser element. Nothing wrong with condensers in general, but they don’t have the richness of the kind of mic you’d traditionally see in this form factor.
That said, this is a decent condenser mic. I did an A/B test with my Zoom H4n professional field recording mic which also has condenser elements. The Zoom gives a crisp, bright, and accurate sound as one would expect from a good condenser. The Razer lacks some of the highs and lows in comparison, and my voice sounded a little bit flatter. Assuming this microphone would be used for vocals, it nonetheless offers a fair performance.
With a supercardioid pickup pattern, this microphone is reasonably directional. It cuts back on room noise (fans, echos, other people) and is most sensitive directly in front of the mic (note, “front” is the side with the volume knob on it). This is a good thing. However, with the light plastic housing, plenty of noise still gets through in the form of vibrations. Any time I touched the mic I could hear it being bumped and jostled. The worst came through any time I moved the cable: any vibrations there sounded like they went straight through to the microphone element.
Likewise, adjusting the knob or tapping the button on top could easily translate unwanted noise into the microphone, so I would expect to not use these features while using the mic if sound accuracy were important.
The integrated pop filter helps cut back on wind noise but it is not perfect, especially if the vocalist is very close to the mic. Under normal use, though, I don’t expect that this would be a problem.
After testing, I was still curious what was actually going on inside the case, so I took it apart. The condenser element is a little bit larger than I expected (larger is usually better in this case) at roughly 12mm diameter. And, to my surprise, there’s actually a rubber noise isolation ring around the element. It doesn’t do much in my estimation, but at least they tried. (I’d hate to hear how noisy this would be without it!)
HEADPHONE JACK
The specifications claim that this product has a “headphone monitoring jack.” Based on this name, I would assume that the microphone sound could be monitored directly through the headphones, and adjusted with the level control knob on the unit. That’s not how this works. The headphone jack is simply direct sound from your computer, no internal monitoring of the microphone. Of course you can do monitoring with software, but it seems like there’s a missed opportunity here.
So, what you’re getting here is a conveniently located headphone jack with a physical volume control right on the mic. However, given how much vibrational noise gets passed to the mic from the cord plugged into it, I would definitely not recommend using this feature. Just plug your headphones into your computer or your monitor.
In my testing, the headphone jack was also quite noisy, with a hiss and a hum audible when I turned up the level.
FEATURES
This microphone lights up!! Honestly, even though this isn’t a big part of my review, I think the RGB lights are probably a big selling point here, and a large part of what you’re paying for in the price. Out of the box there are a few light modes, including either a solid color of a fade from one color to the next. With the downloadable software there are some truly impressive light modes, including game synchronization and matching your other Razer devices. For the user who is into this kind of thing, the color options could be very cool.
I was pleased to see that the volume knob was well considered. It works at the software level, not just a physical volume control, which means there’s feedback to your computer about the level, and levels can be adjusted seamlessly with either computer settings or knob adjustments. The knob alternately controls microphone level or headphone level by tapping the button on top.
Overall, I was not particularly impressed with the sound quality, but it is a huge step up from a headset mic or a mic built into a monitor or camera. For something that looks fancy (from a distance—no touching!) this is your product.

There's only so much you can expect out of a USB mouse, that being said, if you want to up the quality of your voice feed when chatting and gaming or want something good that isn't going to complete break the bank to get you started with podcasting or streaming, The Seiren V3 Chroma is a good place to start.
This mic uses a Super Cardioid pickup pattern, that's a fancy way to say it's built to pickup sounds in front of the mic, while reducing the amount of sound that it picks up from behind the mic. That said, if you are using a Mechanical Keyboard with Tactile Clicky Switches, it's going to hear every single keystroke weather you like it or not. Thankfully the touch sensor on the top of the mic is a mute toggle. When muted the whole mic glows bright red so you know. This is possibly my favorite feature of the unicorn rainbow vomit capable 'Chroma' features the Seiren V3 has. My second is the audio monitor that makes it glow from green/yellow/red as your speaking into it indicating peaks and helping you keep your pitch/tone/volume in check so the recording stays clear for those listening.
That Mute toggle on top can also be set to do a few other things. A long press will change the function of the knob on front between adjusting the mic volume, or adjusting the headphone out volume for those that use a pair of headphones to monitor your mic. Double and triple tapping the button both can be set to different toggles. Changing the chroma pattern, turning on advanced gain controls, toggling chroma effects on and off entirely etc.
I'm extremely happy with the quality of the mic overall, it's build is a soft touch plastic keeping it pretty light with most of the weight in the included base. The lighting effects are bright and colorful, and if desired can be synced up with the rest of your Chroma enabled accessories. If you're using the quick effects in the settings, you can also toggle a setting to prevent other apps and games from controlling the lighting of the mic which is nice when you have it set to light up in response to sound.
As a bonus, I tested the Mic out plugged into my iPad, and while obviously you lose the customizations in Synapse, it just works without any problems. So that's a nifty bonus.

It’s amazing I’ve had no issues with it. It’s easy to mute with one tap and is very good quality. It’s easy to set up. You can change and customize the RGB lights of it with the app which is easy to use. Would definitely recommend.

The Razer Seiren v2 USB Condensor microphone brings RGB to external microphones. It's an interesting idea let down by some odd choices in execution.
-= In the Box =-
In the box is the Razer Seiren v2 microphone, a braided USB A to USB C cable, and the mounting base.
-= First Impressions =-
Like all Razer products the Seiren looks cool. Has a good weight and looks premium - probably because of the matte black finish. There is excellent weight to the Seiren base. The volume control dial has the right resistance to feel like it's quality and there's a headphone jack on the rear.
-= Setup =-
There's two parts to setup, hardware and software. Hardware, screw on the base and your done. But to get the most value and flexibility you need to install the (free) Razer Synapse software. Installation is quick, you are prompted to create an account but it's not necessary so you can use this as a guest. More on the Synapse software later.
-= What's Good =-
Audio recording is clear. I tested in game (via Discord) and in a call and there were no complaints or issues. According to everyone I was talking to, it was clear, well balanced, and no issue. The RGB colors are fun, I set mine to be default audio level indicators, which is surprisingly useful and helpful. I also don't mind a bright backlit red microphone to indicate it's muted. Cool.
-= What's Not So Good =-
The controls for the Seiren are all touch controls on the top of the microphone. Tap 1x to mute, tape 2x for the RGB options, tap 3x times to turn off RGB effects. I found the taps not responsive and there was a weird lag-delay. It's also not intuitive, years of being around audio engineers has condition me to not go tapping microphones. Yes, you can customize all of this via the Synapse software and yes, you can use your normal software for mute/unmute etc. FYI, there's also no custom cardiod settings for the microphone. If you don't know what this means, these are settings you would want on a microphone if you're using it for recording podcasts, interviews, or in a noisy environment. The absence of cardiod settings is not necessarily bad, but something you should know if you want to use the Seiren for more than gaming.
-= Final Thoughts =-
I really thought hard about whether the Seiren was a 3 or 4. I love Razer products as a rule. But the poor touch controls are a bit disappointing. If you are a fan of RGB though and want RGB everywhere and you don't think you'll want to adjust settings on the microphone itself and are happy to use the Synapse software, then this could be the perfect microphone for you.

The Seiren V3 Chroma is a well-built microphone. It came with the most heavy-duty USB-A cable. Unboxing the microphone you are greeted with the microphone itself, cords, a baseplate, and instructions. The usual with a microphone these days.
You can position it on a table. I prefer the mic-arm method. It has a universal mic attachment mounting thread. There wasn't much movement or drop on the mic arm from the weight. The microphone itself is excellent and premium. It has a heavy plastic feel to it. You get some minor adjustments with the baseplate. It has a big giant mute button on top.
The audio experience out of the box was phenomenal. I hadn't heard my voice recorded unfiltered in a while. The voice that played back was clear. No background noise or anything. As a plug-in-play microphone, I don't see it getting any better than this. You get a clean recorded playback with no effects.
The software was the biggest letdown for me. First off, this microphone is mainly for gamers and it has a lot of RGB and effects. The Razer Synapse software is what controls and guides all of that. A lot of flashy colors if you're into that. I like simple and easy. That isn't what this software came across. It had too much customization inside the software. Yet, no VST plugins or stuff to enhance outside of the basics. I didn't feel this was much for production and mainly tailored toward gaming. As long as you know that upfront.
Along with the app came a lot of background tasks and operations in the background. I didn't care for that. Outside of that if you are a gamer and you like RGB. If you want a clear-quality microphone, this might be for you!

Great mic. Picks up my voice really well, which is always a plus since I'm very soft spoken. It's very easy to use and I love that I can use it with either the stand it came with or my mic arm. The RGB is also fun to play around with to match the rest of my setup

Bought the microphone a lil under a month ago its been great so far no audio issues just be carful when your in a big room thought has a tendency to produce feedback in certain areas. Also dont know if the mic is know for random cutoffs cause i noticed when i had my mic in my pc there was 2 moments where it just turned of and it started flicking purple every 2 seconds might have to contact razer on that one. Asside from that audio is very crisp and its got several led options to choose from with the synapse sofware that comes with first time setup and you not just limited to presets do a little digging and youll find that they have a feature that allows you to fully customize preset patterns and potentally make your own. It has a gain knob and a tap to mute feature on the mic itself alongside with options to adjust the sensitivity, volume, and more a fantastic microphone for streamers or competitive gamers

I’ve never had a mic before and found recently that I needed one for many things. I did alittle research and found one at Best Buy. This was a good pick. I’ve bought many things from here and have very seldom had to return anything to this store because in every case so far it’s always been a good deal. This mic is powerful and easy to use. And it has many up to date features. I’m sure I won’t be returning it.

Another solid product from Razer. I love the lighting and the easy mute tap feature. Works perfectly with Synapse software. A well-built USB microphone for any occasion, be it with the included stand or attached to a desk boom arm.

Easy to set up, clear crisp sound and easy to mesh with wireless headphones. LED options easy to customize with razer system on computer, boom arm could be convenient depending on set up.
