I like it. Sucks that you can't add custom binds, though. The paddles just mirror other buttons on the controller.

I have been using the 1st generation of Razer Wolverine, also Microsoft Elite controller series 2. I do like both controllers, but this Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma is my best Xbox controller by far. Honestly, I feel this controller is molded to my hands, the feel is excellent, and the finish is textured for better gripping. Buttons feel smooth with tactile sound, and D-pad is also very smooth and responsive with tactile feedback, which is fantastic. Thumbsticks are interchangeable and stick magnetically, so I swapped them out with shorter sticks included in the box for a better experience. Extra four triggers and two bumpers are remappable via the Razer controller app on Xbox and PC. The controller uses USB-type C. in fact, a wired controller provides a better gaming experience by reducing lagging issues that may occur with wireless models. The extra button below the share button is for audio control. By pressing and holding the audio control button, then press the D-Pad directions up and down to increase and decrease the Xbox volume. Also, doing the same steps but instead pressing the directions left and right will increase and decrease the game and chat volume. Finally, I love the shape design; it is very comfortable and feels high quality in hands. Chroma lighting is definitely my favorite, and Razer is well–known for that.

Premium feel, and plenty of customization options. Got it on sale for $50 for my gaming laptop, as I wanted an Elite controller, but did not want to spend the 120-200$ required to get one.

    Definite upgrade from run-of-the-mill controllers

Finding a controller that fits you and works for your game can be a difficult match to make. Forutnately Razer has this amazing controller for Xbox Series X|S users that features some pro-level controls as well as RGB lighting effects. It’s definitely a step up in the controller world and an upgrade from a standard Xbox controller. Unboxing: The controller comes in a Razer-branded box with an image of the controller on the front. I like that this is provided so that you are sure you are getting your controller of choice for the correct gaming system. It’s a very noticeable package and I believe it would stick out on a retail shelf. The back of the box calls out the main features of the controller like the 6 additional multi-function buttons, interchangeable thumb stick caps, mechanical-tactile action buttons and D-pad, hair trigger mode with trigger stop switches, powered by Razer Chroma RGB, and improved ergonomics. When you open the box, you will find the controller sitting inside some foam. There are replacement thumb stick caps resting above the controller. There is a small black box compartment that holds the connector cable, Razer stickers, and a user guide. First Impressions: When I took the controller out of the box, I was immediately struck by the weight of the controller. It felt similar to my standard Xbox controller, but a little heavier. I liked this about it. I plugged in the controller using the provided cable (USB-C to USB-A) and my Xbox immediately powered up and the controller lit up. The RGB effect is definitely a plus in my book. I like adding fun lighting effects to anything in my workspace and the lights on the controller are bright and colorful. Another thing I noticed right off the bat was the mechanical ‘click’ you get when you press buttons. It’s almost like using a mechanical keyboard, but in controller form. Gameplay: One of my favorite games to play is Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s a game I know really well and I know how a standard controller feels while playing it. So, I started it up and played for a bit to get a feel for the Razer controller. Overall, I was very impressed with the reaction timing of the controls and how good the tactile mechanical buttons felt in comparison to the standard softer buttons on an Xbox controller. The only thing that ended up throwing me for a loop was the position of the menu buttons. They aren't in the exact middle of the controller and that ended up hindering me a little bit since some of the gameplay of RDR2 deals with recalling the menu quite a bit. Overall: I think this controller is a great alternative to the traditional Xbox controller. It looks great, feels awesome in the hands and is incredibly responsive. I really love the trigger paddles on the back even though I haven't used them much yet. They feel solid and don’t feel as if they will just fall off like some pro-level triggers do.

I am loving this controller so far. The feel is really good, even though it appears on the smaller side. The handles feel a bit shorter compared to the regular controller, but the fit is just very nice. You don't hit the back paddles by accident as much as the Elite controllers, since they're more centered. May be a bit harder/more awkward to reach for some, though, if you've got shorter fingers. I know it's wired, but I think the pros of this controller outweigh that. I love the RGB lighting on it and the sticks and buttons feel good. I haven't found a way to disable the slowdown of the left stick when pressing the back bottom left paddle. Even changing what it's supposed to do in the Razer app on the Xbox, it still keeps slowing down my left stick. May be a bug and they'll fix it later? Still loving the feel of this though. I haven't used my Elite in a long time but this one I'm keeping plugged in.

Best High End Gaming Controller with paddles, blows Scuf away in my opinion, as if paddles break easily within a month of hard use sometimes, I’ve used Razer Controllers now for years with the paddles and never broke a paddle they last longer the overall build of the controller is just much better then a scuf or any of it’s competitors, it feels like your holding a quality controller for the money you paid not just a piece of plastic, let alone the feel of the mechanical like buttons on this is insane, feels so smooth and way more responsive.

I love this controller! I’ve owned a Scuf, Elite 1 and Elite 2 controller and this is by far my favorite. I love the placement of the back paddles, no more accidental clicks! I really like the mechanical buttons. The only thing keeping it from being perfect is it’s not wireless and I wish the Back and Start buttons were closer together, the Back button is awkward to press. To fix this, I mapped one of the extra bumper buttons on top of the controller to the Back button. The controller has a really good grip. The Xbox app is easy to use. The lights looks great. I’m very impressed!

This controller performs amazingly well and fit great in your hand like a glove. My preference of center back buttons perfect for them being there but out of the way when not needed. Only fault after some time is the type-c connection. It not very will seated with no other structural component to support it, so over time connection gets loose and and may loose connectivity during play. Recommendation is purchase the protection plan to replace the controller when ever it starts happening.

I usually prefer to use a wireless controller when I'm playing my Xbox, but the Razer Wolverine V2 Chrome Pro changed my mind. [Pro: The build quality is awesome.] The controller is plastic, but sturdy with very comfortable rubberized grips. Buttons are clicky, but provide a gentle feedback to the fingertips without being loud. [Pro: Button feedback is quick.] It may sound crazy, but I actually noticed that there was a improvement to my gameplay. While playing FPS and a few sports titles, I noticed that my characters moved in a more swifter manner. Truthfully, I thought it was hype, but I actually did game better. [Pro: Additional Mappable Buttons and customization] The previous V2 lacked additional buttons on the back, but Razer provides more than enough buttons with this version. I was worried about the placement of the 4 buttons on the back, and needing overextend to reach them. Fortunately, the placement isn't an awkward as it may look on pictures, and the buttons are easily accessible for in-game usage. The biggest selling point is customizing sensitivity in my analog sticks. I often find myself responded to early to the action going on, but I was able to create many profiles to tailor toward specific games. [Con: No zones in the RGB] I love the inclusion of RGB patterns in the controller to give it pop. I did wish it included zones that could be customized to give it more uniqueness. [Con: No carrying case is included for attachments or controller] A carrying bag is the biggest missing piece for this controller. Because there is no storage, accessories such as attachments can easily be misplaced. [Conclusion] I have very little to complain about for this controller. I love it, and will be using it as my primary controller for Xbox and PC.

A great controller can really improve your gameplay as well as make it more enjoyable. The Razer Wolverine is my first high-end gaming controller and I'm really digging. I'm currently using this for my PC and it's quite nice. I'm not a keyboard/mouse player so using a controller is how I roll. I previously used my old PS4 controller however that seemed to have quite a few issues with connectivity. This being a wired controller, it resolved those issues as well as added a few benefits. The controller feels good in the hands. The RGB on it is subtle and adds a nice touch to the controller; especially for my PC. There are the normal buttons on this controller as well as 2 additional bumper buttons as well as 4 paddle buttons under the controller. Having never had a controller with these underside paddle buttons, it's taking me a bit to get used to. I guess my hand placement is wrong since the buttons don't quite line up with my fingers however, after some practice, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. There are also additional thumbpads included with this controller so you can mix and match ones that fit your playstyle. The cable is braided so it's pretty heavy duty and I don't expect any issues here with the cable. With this controller, there is software you can download to change the RGB lights as well as setup different profiles and map the extra buttons. Pretty intuitive software and works great I've only been using the controller for a week or so now playing GTA V and it's pretty sweet. It installed easily with my laptop and was ready to play right out of the box.

There are some things to know about this going in: 1. It doesn't have Bluetooth 2. It is configured with Razer's Xbox app (installable on Win10/11) and not Razer Synapse 3. It's wired only If you can get past these three things, you will have a comfortable, configurable, RGB bling controller for Xbox and PC. This controller also works on Android via direct USB wire though there is no config app on Android from what I saw ... but the controller's configurations are saved to it as best I can tell (unlike in Synapse). Why did I grab this? I had a Razer Raiju mobile controller that died. That controller was designed for Android but worked on PC via direct USB connection. Thusly, I got used to playing via a direct USB wire for my PC. And, I found that over time, the built in phone holder wasn't that great vs. the Razer Kishi. I certainly didn't like the jump in price -- the retired Raiju is selling for ~$38 online right now and this was "on sale" at my local BB for $130. Yet, I was using the Raiju as a wired-to-PC controller 97% of the time and rebuying for a use case that never materialized seemed silly. The regular Wolverine V2 was also on sale for ~$70 at the same time but I chose the more expensive chroma version because of well, the ability to color match other devices, and, more importantly, the V2 Chroma has a detachable USB cable and gives you the flexibility to use different cables with it. What am I doing now? This product, the Wolverine V2 Chroma, is what I use when I am sitting at my desk. And it is nice! For on-the-go or as a second controller I have the vanilla Xbox bluetooth controller (with a cheap phone clip), which at $60 is the best all around value.

The Wolverine V2 Chroma is a solid choice for gamers looking for a high-performance controller. It features an ergonomic design that provides a comfortable grip, even during long gaming sessions. The buttons are responsive and have a satisfying click, which is great for intense games. The customizable Chroma RGB lighting adds a nice touch, allowing you to personalize your controller to match your setup. Additionally, the controller offers a range of customization options with its remappable buttons and interchangeable thumbsticks, making it versatile for different types of games. Overall, the Wolverine V2 Chroma delivers a premium gaming experience with its build quality and features.

Very different from a regular Xbox controller. In the package, it looks way smaller; this change in size makes it hard to play competitively, as I’ve become accustomed to the feel of the Stock XSX Controller. I wouldn’t say I liked the thumb stick as they aren't comparable with my older Kontrol freaks and have little to no grip. The sticks aren’t as high as they could be because of the controllers size. The higher the thumbsticks, the more aim control you have at a certain point. The software was glitching out, holding me from running in a game on the right thumbstick. This happened twice, and yes, I did update my controller. No Case, Only Wired. I’m very disappointed with this product.

This is a very nice controller. I may get a SCUF controller also to compare, but it can’t be too much better and SCUF seems to have a stricter return policy vs the convenience of Best Buy. The “ABXY” buttons have a solid click. The paddles are nice but I could imagine that the paddles closer to the handles on the SCUF may be better, but I don’t know how well those work? I have the Xbox elite controller (version 1) and I like this one better. Paddles on my elite keep sticking.

By far the best console and PC controller that I have ever used, if you don't mind using a wired controller that gives you 10 ft making it easily reachable to nearly all distances especially competitively, as it has left my Elite Series 2 sitting on a desk and literally collecting dust in case I need to use it for a day or two if my Razor chroma V2 is getting replaced and the reasons for the High Praise are the lightweight of the controller, the amazing feeling of the texture on the hand grips and mechanical buttons, and the remarkable buttons and custom color settings overtaking my previous favorite controller also made by razor the ultimate and this is after the app came out so I suggest that you go and adjust the analog sticks in the razor app on Xbox from 4 down to 2 as that was the only reason I didn't purchase straight away but makes all of the difference in the world as it makes the sensitivity and controller drift, if there there, perfect for competitive and Casual gaming so that minor function in the razor app for the chroma V2 controllers has made them overtake all others so for $120 I really suggest that you try them, if you don't mind wired even though cord is 10 ft long, and if you don't like them you can always return them as I've converted all of my friends to using these controllers as they have set a new standard and gaming for all of us and they also work with PC as well.

Comfortable controller with amazing customization. The paddle positioning and start/select button positioning are hard to get used to. I see where they were coming from, but pretty much every xbox controller that I have held up to this point have had their start/select buttons in a specific spot, and Razer unnecessarily changed the positions of them. If you can get over that, this controller may be for you. I'd give a 4.5/5 if I could.

I purchased this more or less on a whim. I had been eyeballing the Elite 2 controller as a friend recommended but wasn’t patient nor willing to pay the price tag. I had been using the Razer Wolverine Tournament edition for over 2 years and started finally getting issues with double inputs and stick drift. I wanted the quality and longevity of that controller and wanted to buy again but was looking for an upgrade really. I looking into this controller previously and didn’t like the look or shape from pictures and wondered if I’d end up hating it so I took it off the list. Well once my old controller was messing with my gameplay, I got frustrated and immediately went to Best Buy to get whichever they had in stock. It was the Wolverine v2 and I’m actually very surprised at how much I like this over my old Tournament Wolverine. For starters, compared to that controller, the ABXY button press requires more travel but it hasn’t affected gameplay for me. What I really like that was improved upon is the build quality. It feels so much more sturdy and the buttons don’t feel as brittle, although I’m sure that will change with time. Honestly, if you’re like me and play just about daily and are competitive in FPS, you probably won’t get much more than a year and some change out of even the newest generations of controllers - I’m pretty tough on the buttons to be honest. But I feel like, barring any accidents like dropping it or spilling something on it, that I will get another 1-2 years out of this controller. The upgraded design seems ugly and like it will be uncomfortable but my big hands are just as comfortable and I actually feel like I have more consistent control over my analog stick inputs. Really happy with the V2 - although it’s not for all folks I’m sure. In the end, if you came from the Wolverine Tournament/Ultimate (and even used the Wildcat from back in the day like me) you will enjoy this controller. My only gripe may be the D-pad being a bit out of place/requiring more reach to use, but is something I’m getting used to. I highly recommend this controller for its price and quality over the Elite 2. Also, invest in the Best Buy protection plan so you can just swap it out in a year or so and restart with a crispy controller without putting down another $130+. Another note, if you’re on PC like me, don’t download any razer software - it’s garbage and I’ve have multiple experiences of it messing with my computer. And actually it’s unnecessary for this controller, as button mapping and settings are accessed through the Microsoft store Razer controller app, which is much better.

after having 3 Xbox elite controllers break over the course of 1 year I starting using a razer wolverine ultimate controller which lasted for 2 years with no issues. when it was time for a new controller The wolverine V2 chroma was a easy choice based on my experience with my Wolverine Ultimate. The V2 chroma is a very responsive well built comfortable controller as was my ultimate and I fully expect to get a few years use out of the chroma as well. I would highly recommend trying one out.
