I have it in a room sized probably 11' x 14' & it barely cools down the room. The heat coming from the vent is stronger than the cool air. Also, it cools off only in front of it for about 3-4 feet. Any further than that, the airflow is not felt. I can't call this unit portable since it needs to vent out of the window & I can't put it anywhere I want. The window venting parts are of such low quality & flimsy. The unit's so heavy that if it didn't have wheels, no way I could move it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Excelent performance at a good price. The instructions for setting up the WIFI connection, however, are doable but somewhat confusing (like instructions Chinese translated English into).
