I bought one of these RCA 3.5" portable TVs a couple of years ago and decided to buy another one to use in another room in the house. First of all, a big plus with this small, portable TV is that it runs on regular batteries. It was actually the only portable model I could find that ran on regular batteries. Most portable TVs run on a rechargeable battery. I had one of those and it never did work properly. This TV would be great to use in an emergency if you did not have electrical power in your house. Because of its small size, you can also carry it about, use it anywhere inside or outside. Even though it is identical to my first TV, size, brand name, series, etc, there are a few differences which makes me wonder why not all the same products were not made identical. Perhaps they were made in different factories. The menu selections are formatted differently. It took a while for me to figure out how to fix the picture size, make it darker or lighter, that sort of thing. Also took me a while to figure out how to make it scan channels to set them up, which must be done when you first use the set. Also, with my other TV, you just turned it on and off whether you were using batteries or A/C. This one gives you the option of turning it on using electrical power or battery power. I would say the quality of the picture on my other set is excellent. I would give this one good to very good, but not excellent. Both sets bring in many channels, at least 25. I do live close to a major city so that is a factor of getting so many channels. Not sure how it would work in a more rural area. The quality of most of the channels are good, but to get an excellent picture, and perhaps more channels, you would need to attach an external antenna. Also, these sets do not come with an A/C adapter. I had to buy one on the Internet which was about $15 and you have to be sure you buy the right kind that fits directly into the TV and then into your electrical outlet. For the price of this set, which is not inexpensive (I have seen prices vary considerably with different vendors) it should come with an adapter. There are many functions that this TV offers, such as a channel guide. It would be nice if the size of picture were a little larger, such as a 5 in. screen. 3.5" is pretty small, yet, that is part of its portability. There is a little stand on the TV on the back so you could sit it on a table, but it is delicate, and could easily be broken off. Also, the little antenna that comes on the TV is very fragile so you have to be gentle with that. All in all, it is a good TV, great to have if you are watching one show on your large TV and want to glance at another one and might be good to take to sporting events. I have never tried to use the TV outside and I don't use the battery function much so can't comment on how long the batteries last. But my set does work well with only the battery function the few times I have used it. I prefer to plug it in to my electrical outlet. It does not come with a remote but with the size of this set, you would most likely hold it in your lap. There is an instructional guide that comes with the set which is definitely needed.

I like the size of tv but wish it would pick up more channels. Need a RF connector I guess which didn't come with it. Wish it would have come with a charger or a choice to order it. Best Buy doesn't carry these things at least I couldn't find them to order the items. Not happy with over all product

Didn't know what to expect when I ordered this. The reviews are all over the place. I am very satisfied with this portable tv's performance. The picture is clear. It picks up the main local channels and several others, about 16 channels in all. I like that it uses AA batteries. The only thing it's missing is a power cord if you didn't want to use the batteries.

This little TV wouldn't pick up my local channels. The screen scratched very easily. I could not buy an external antenna to add to it. I returned it and bought a Samsung Galaxy instead, which does everything virtually!

My wife loved it, was a gift for her. And it is nice...
