I couldn't find my old one from 30 years ago. The quality of manufacturing is poor to fair. The fabric should have a defined one-way nap, and you can't tell by feel with this one. Even if the fabric was better quality, it was sewn crooked on one I purchased. Older (other) versions of this style cleaner have one side of the handle hollowed out to store the cleaning fluid, this one does not. I believe ION makes one that might be worth comparing against... or dig through the attic to find your old one before buying this one.

I always liked the discwasher as my main go-to when spinning vinyl, Was a bit disappointed that the new versions don't have the same 'directional' fabric the original does, but still seems to do a pretty good job of pre-play dust removal and touch-up.

Everyone that owns a turntable should own this product. If you want your records to have a long and healthy life you need to clean them almost every time you listen to them. This product makes cleaning a breeze! The records sound better to me once they've been cleaned as well. This is probably because dirt and debris isn't getting between the vinyl and the needle.

I bought this after reading reviews and got a good deal from bestbuy through price match. Saw video on YouTube for how to use this effectively. Still I find some dust that stay there after cleaning multiple times. Maybe I have to learn more or get used to this. But as read from previous reviews and images of the old discwasher, it looks to me that the old have had a great material on top for cleaning and the one I have looks and feels cheap.

Had a genuine discwasher back in the late 70's early 80's. Recently a friend received a turntable as a gift and needed a way to clean her old records so I ordered this. Doesn't seem to work as well as the originals but work ok. Easy to use and works best on records that aren't extremely dirty

Discwasher is still the same product it used to be. D4+ is just as good as it used to be, the Brush IS Microfiber, NOT FELT. THE CLOTHE ON THE BRUSH IS THE SAME AS IT USED TO BE. I am a record expert and say it is exactly the same as the original. It is as good or better than the old brush and does an impeccable job of cleaning records and keeping them maintained just like it used to do. The formula is exactly the same as it used to be in the 70's and 80's and I trust only D4+ to keep my records in playing shape. Buy this product every time. I will lift finger prints and hard to get dirt from any record. It won't help scratches but will keep your record in it's best shape.

This product has been around for many years! If you want clean vinyl, and great sounding albums, this is something that you need to invest in! I have an old one from the 80's and also a new one.They both work well on the vinyl.Spend the money on this IF you don't have one! Go to YOU Tube IF you don't know how to work it!

I found a box of old 45's and used this to clean them up. They look good and sound fine after 40 years.

It's not the old school one we all remember...... but it works. The vinyl looks better than it did.

This item is going back to the store as soon as i can get there. This Discwasher is a cheap imitation of the original and is definitely not worth the money. The "corduroy" covering that replaces the original fiber brush is totally useless. The fact that the bottle of liquid cleaner no longer fits into the handle for storage is a moot point because the "brush" itself is so useless.Shame on RCA for passing this off to customers as a Discwasher. Years ago I purchased the original and at the time, it was a quality product and years ahead of any other record cleaning product on the market at any price. I only wish I had read the reviews on the new one before I rushed to make a purchase. I was so disappointed, I actually tore my house apart hoping to find the one I purchased many years ago. So far no luck, but I'm hopeful. In the meantime, I'll look elsewhere, and maybe I'll be lucky to find a used original..

If you have old records this will get the dirt and finger prints off of them.
