Great for receiving over the air TV signals. Can pick up a fair amount of free local channels. Very little adjusting needed when switching from lower numbered channels to the higher ones. Just a little turning of the base to adjust the directions of the antennas. Not the most out of sight antenna out there we put it behind other decorations to help hide it.

Better than basic cable

I was on the fence about getting an antenna, but couldn't justify paying for the same channels with basic cable. After giving this antenna a try, I know I made the right decision. It was ready to hook up out of the box and I immediately got crystal clear reception from all of our digital stations (including a few channels that we're available from our basic cable).
Best of all, the picture quality and aspect ratio blows basic cable's HD channels out of the water. My Toshiba HDTV finally gets to take advantage of the program lineups and descriptions that cable never provided.
Granted, I live in the city limits so I can pick up all of the broadcasts easily; so I can't attest to how well this works if you live far away from the nearest stations. But all-in-all, if you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to basic cable, I would highly recommend this product.

Pretty Decent Antenna

Being stuck in the middle of a subdivision- there is usually that *1* channel that just never really comes in quite right. I have tried just about every antenna out there... from $10 to crazy expensive, rabbit ears to roof antenna, etc. to bring in that main channel.
This antenna was very moderately priced- I almost bought the more expensive antenna but a few Best Buy employees told me to give this one a try first.
I don't want cable- it is just me and my kids. But it makes me furious when my team is playing and I can't get good reception!!!
This antenna was perfect for that. I have to adjust it on occasion going from station to station- but I don't watch enough TV for that to bother me.
The rabbit ears extend out but they move forwards to backwards and not side to side which was pretty pointless to me as they tipped the unit over if moved too far back. It is wall mountable and had to be plugged in to a power source... just FYI

Very Good Antenna

Ditched satellite TV but wanted the local stations. This antenna is wonderful, I get all the locals, no tiling and was very easy to install. The only negative I can say ii makes no difference whether it is switched to amplified mode or not via the switch on the back.

Great - just remember the variables

So odd to have a set of rabbit ears atop the TV. But ridiculous cable prices and way too much lousy cable broadcasts will do that! The antenna sets up easy - I plugged it into the outlet, plugged it into my HDTV. Voila! 15 or so channels, about half of them local HDTV boradcasts that came in beautiful!
But remember the variables will make you happy, not the antenna. Do you have an HDTV with a converter built-in or a separate converter? Do you live in an area where you'd get decent aireal reception anyway? Does your TV/converter process an HD signal well? Is your TV 1080 or 720? Do you have a 120mhtz TV to make your action clearer? All of these things have EVERYTHING to do with your HD experience. Your antenna is just landing a signal. If you don't get many channels, or the picture is not the greatest, it may not be the fault of the antenna.

Works great...with a cookie sheet

I was hoping this would be awesome, but signal was a little sporadic out of the box. But what do you expect when you're paying less than one month of a cable bill?
I figured out it works well with a metal cookie sheet sitting upright behind it to deflect signal towards it. This stopped the digital glitching and provided perfect HD. I get the PBS channels, CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC, CW, and other local channels, so I'm satisfied for the price. Aesthetically, it's an eye-sore with the cookie sheet. I wonder why they don't just make it with a round metal plate behind it like a satellite dish??

For the price I don't think you can beat this antenna, especially if it is on sale. I bought it because a lightning strike took out our cable and the fine folks at Verizon won't be visiting until sometime before 9pm on Saturday. Television auto channel scan found 30 channels for me to watch after I hooked this up, many of which provide little interest. Why one needs three different home shopping channels over broadcast television escapes me.

This antenna is really an excellent purchase. I read reviews where professionals stated this was better than more deluxe products, And I agree. I am able to get some 60 odd channels, including hd, clear as a bell in my area. You can't use it behind the tv I found out and it likes to be up as high as possible. I have it on a swivel stool near the tv. I can move it a bit or give it a turn here and there if there is some reception problem...different stations prefer it pointing in different directions...that's the trick. Also, you have to do a scan frequently to make sure you are getting all the latest channels and positions.

Easy install, nice size, excellent reception for HD TV and brings in many sub-channels I didn't know were out there. A very great antenna for the price. I like how it is an amplified HD antenna.
Works great with my 2006 Vizio HD TV.

Mid Range Antenna - Talking Quality
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I bought this antenna hoping for something that would work well in a closed indoor environment away from the windows. At first, it worked okay but now the quality seems to be dipping. I turned up the gain boost or whatever that knob is and it came in a little better, but it demands constant readjustment. When the picture comes in, it's clear and perfect; compares to cable. But what threw me was the fact that it worked better when I hooked it up to my computer rather than my TV... Shouldn't be anything wrong with my TV, it's a year old, nice flatscreen from RCA as well and that is a quality tube right there. It just goes to show that even though a brand might have really done something well, that doesn't mean they're cut out for the other departments. Overall, not a bad antenna. I don't watch much TV, but when I do, the major networks come in super clear. If you want more than that though (not counting the crystal clear religious channels, which I get 3 of), then you probably should invest in some quality, reliable rabbit ear antennas.

Works well - location is everything

personally don't like having the old rabbit ears next to my TV but due to my location this is my only option without getting something attached to the roof. it is able to receive most of the channels in the middle of my house and i am about 30-40 miles from the signal location. for the price and not having to deal with the cable company any more i'd say it's worth looking at but if you don't like the look of it there are other more subtle options out there but they are not going to be powered like this one and thus all will have a lower range compared to this one. so do your research and find out exactly how much range you will need. and be prepared to return it if you can't get all the channels you want.
