I've been a rabbit ears user for ages now but with the digital switch, suffering through screen snow to watch something with poor reception is no longer an option. After attaching aluminum foil to one of the antennas in order to watch the super bowl last year we decided it was time to look into getting a better antenna and this is the one that worked.
The first one (AntennaDirect ClearStream Micron) we tried turned out to be UHF only which got us 4, 5, and a handful of other minor stations and at no better reception than we'd had before. Channels 7 and 9 didn't come in at all since they're VHF.
We tried this one next and were disappointed the first night to find that we got 7 and 9 clearly but now got nothing else. However the antennas on this one can each angle and swivel separately so I had hope that there was an angle that would work which I just hadn't found yet. The next day I found that moving the antenna away from the digital receiver box greatly improved reception. Now with the antenna on top of the TV and the receiver down beside it we get pretty much everything except 9 (which I'm working on). I'm happy enough with the results that I actually created an account just to give this a positive review.

Living in the Bronx I was affected by Cablevision's dispute with Fox5 and My9. I read the reviews for this and have to admit I was very hesitant and didn't think it was going to work. Boy was I wrong.
I took it out the box and hooking it up was a simple process. I just hooked it up to my HD tv via my coaxle hook up in the back of my tv and ran the search for channels. I have my antena sitting right next to my TV. It took about 15 minutes for the antena to scan and not only did it find all my local channels in HD, but I have 20 other channels that I never knew I could receive.
It picks up both HD and SD channels. Most in HD. They look amazing. They look better than the ones coming off of Cablevision's service. It is a amped antena so a plug is required and the coaxle cable that comes with is is about 5 feet long.
I am watching the ALCS on Fox right now in crystal clear HD. This product was worth the money and some.

When the signal is there, it's there..your picture will be clear as your tv can display it..
signals sometimes fades due to outside interference.even when you haven't moved the antenna..(Just like rabbit ears in the past)..Locate HD towers, adjust antenna and save some bucks!
I'm in Stockton, and Sacramento channels come in clear when signal is strong (45) miles

I only used it once, when satellite was down. Am keeping it as a backup. Placed it in the window beside the TV. Reception was excellent for me. I picked up quite a few channels with very good definition. Very simple to install. Just attach the cable to back of TV.

It gets the job done. Simple enough to install. We bought this for our mother is doesn't have cable or satellite. I don't believe it would work any better than a non-amplified indoor antenna. Bottom line is indoor antennas are sketchy at best depending on how many walls and where you put the antenna. She's now getting 80 some odd channels...no tin foil required.

I wasn't expecting much when I bought this antenna. I went to the store looking for the Mohu Leaf 30 mile antenna but all they had was the 50 mile for like around $70. This was out of my price range so picked this bad boy up for $30. I was anticipating returning because I have tried a few already and was not able to pickup FOX. Sure enough once I did the scan after hooking up there was NO channel 4. After about 6-7 tries and pointing the antenna towards where channel 4 was in the city I was able to get ALL local channels in my area crystal clear.
With a little work and determination this antenna does a good job at getting all the channels.

Just bought a new HDTV for a guest bedroom, and I don't want to pay for cable or fios for this TV so thought I would try an antenna. I almost bought a $60 one but the sales person directed me to this and it was a 3rd of the cost. Evidently, just as long as it's amplified you should be ok for local channels. I did need to play around with positions to get both the ABC and NBC stations in NYC, but now but are crisp and clear. Save
cable bills and buy an antenna with a ROku for spare TVs!!o

Here's the deal-when channels 7 and 9 went to VHF from UHF, my ANT111 became completely worthless. Channels 7 and nine completely disappeared, and I suspect the same will happen when 12,6, and 4 go vhf later this year.
When I plugged this antenna into my TV and rescanned, I got 27 digital channels, BUT 9 and 7 still didn't really work. I tried adjusting the gain controls, moving the rabbit ears, nothing worked. Then I tried moving the antenna itself around, and that worked ONLY for one station at a time. One position worked for one channel, but not the other channels. I would have to move the antenna every time I changed the channel.
Well, that seemed silly, so I planned on putting the thing back in the box, changed to channel 12, and called it a night. After about ten minutes watching something I didn't care about on PBS, I decided to try one more thing: I coiled the coax that came out of the antenna onto itself, moved the antenna so that I could get channel seven, and sat down on the couch. For some reason, coiling the antenna cable up worked, and all channels came in perfectly.
Not sure why this worked, but it did. If you buy this antenna, keep the cable coiled up, put the antenna anywhere but directly behind your tv, and you should be good to go (that is, if you live in Aurora, Colorado...)

This antenna allowed me to receive all channels in the DFW area with almost 100% signal... except 8-1 (ABC) which didn't show up at all at first. I know ABC is broadcast in VHF unlike all of the other major networks around here which are UHF, so I am assuming that is the difference. I moved the antenna around a little and was able to get ABC to come in at about 40% at best. Since I really don't want to install a better antenna on the roof, I am going to stick with this one for now, but I might end up taking it back if I have anymore problems receiving VHF channels. I live in Southwest Fort Worth, TX if that helps anyone.

I have this setup with a 25 inch Samsung P2570HD TV/Monitor. The Tv has internal TV Tuners but you need an antenna for broadcasts that aren't from Cable or Satellite. The local cable company Comporium has only Fox in HD for basic subscribers. I didn't want to buy a huge TV and pay more for cable without trying other possibilities. This size is perfect for my bedroom. This did the trick. I am now in HD heaven and with my XBOX(upscanning to 1920 by 1080 with pc cable) and netflix having HD content now I'm in crazy HD mania heaven now. I watched Leverage (tv show in hd on netflix) Antenna seem to be like most things. Some work better for different situations. Do research on the tv stations you want and find out how far you are from them. I'm impressed that I am pulling so many channels with this solution. I'd buy this again. I'm taking back a Terk flat antenna which I did not open because this worked so well. Antenna.org helped with a lot of information. Good Luck to all trying to get HD. It's really cool when you finally see the difference.

HDTV Off-Air Antenna

Placed this antenna in attic about 25 ft above ground. Got 100% signal strength on local channels,(signal source: Direct TV AM-21 Off Air Tuner [Direct TV $ 50.00]) but only 50-to-60% for channels 60-70 miles away. Still, I am able to get the distant channels in HD. Waiting for Direct TV to supply locals in HD!
Live in Chico, CA, distant channels are in Redding, CA.

Bought this after an ice storm damaged my DIRECTV satellite dish. I tried another RCA model (non amplified with rabbit ears) which picked up nothing but ant wars on every channel. I took it back and exchanged it for this one. Suffice to say I didn't have high hopes when I plugged this one in. Right away my TV found over 30 digital channels (plus 10 HD equivalents). All the major/local networks came in great and I was able to catch the NFL playoffs. I was thinking I would return this antenna after my Dish was repaired but after the success I had - am having; I will definitely keep it.

I saw the reviews online which prompted me to call local retailers-got best price point from Best Buy-Best Buy rep owns same model-gave me the comfort level it would work in Tampa Bay.Picked up in nearby Clearwater store within 90 minutes. I found the higher you can position this unit, better the reception; I tried on a window shelf, next to TV, top of book shelf inside with fair results. Best reception from my screened porch-6 feet off floor w antennas extended. Still get reception inside house.
I was able to receive the major networks, ABC,CBS, FOX, (2) PBS except for NBC's affliate WFLA. The station transmitters are 32 miles east except for WTSP (ABC) which is 8 miles southeast. Over a half dozen Spanish channels appear which is of lesser importance to me since no habla espanol. Also receive CW Network (ch44), ION, MORE TV and a movie channel.
I'm more than pleased, even though I'll be forfeiting CNN. At least I feel more in control of my programming choices rather than paying for channel programming I don't watch and saving over $100 monthly. Cable is all about locking one into a "bundle," which cable providers should know by now that savvy consumers view bundles as a flawed concept.
This RCA antenna is powerful for its size and impressive in its results. I added an additional 10' coaxial cable using a gold coupler to extend length.

I've been using this for about 8 months with one of the new digital converter boxes to receive on air broadcasts. Sitting on top of the tv I get about 7 channels with around 30-40% signal strength.
I had to move the antenna and set it in my south facing window sill (about 4 feet from the tv) and I now get 17 stations at about 45-55% signal strength.
On the stations I do receive, the picture is great. But any weather, especially wind, really messes with the signal strength and causes channels to cut on and off.
It's ok, but I'm sure there are better performers out there.

Our local CBS station in Columbus is in contract dispute with Dish and is blacked out. So I did a lot of research and came up with this solution. This antenna is everything it claims to be. At least it is for me. I believe all antennas probably work good but there are way too many variables if it will work in your location. I'm in a rural area about 15 miles east of town, and there are no mountains, hills, buildings, or other obstructions. I was assured by the sales associate at Best Buy that I could return it if it didn't work for me. It took just minutes to hook up. I have a 3 year old Toshiba HD. I have the antenna sitting behind the tv and you can hardly even see it. I did the channel scan and got 13 channels. Granted, some of them I will never watch, but at least I have my local networks. The picture is clear and sharp. So now I can just toggle my input between Dish and antenna with ease. And I figure I will also have my local stations when the Dish goes out in bad storms! Yay! Well worth the money.

Recently dropped cable and going OTA. Since all my local stations towers are listed as less than 15 miles from my location, I tried an old set of rabbit ears first and got all but two stations in my area. Decided to try this instead of the more expensive "flat square" antennas. Got all my local stations plus two more that their towers are listed as just under 60 miles from my location. I'm in an apartment on the second floor, near the top of a hill, so I'm sure that helps with reception. Sometimes I do need to adjust the position of the ears based on the station I'm watching, that's just a minor inconvenience to me.

This antenna works very well. I have been using for 3 months and love the reception I get on my TV. No need to pay for cable!!! You can get all or most of the network stations in HD for free with this antenna. Highly recommend. I have to occasionally adjust it to re-focus the signal strength; but that is just the nature of using an antenna.

We moved into our new home and set up for our cable company to transfer service (cable TV, Internet and VOIP). The home is new construction and the cable company sent out a tech per our appointment to hook up all services only to find that the cable feed had not been run to our house yet. Installation would need to be postponed for 3-4 weeks! A friend suggested this antenna so I went to Best Buy and picked up a few just in time for Masters weekend. They worked like a charm though we sometimes had to adjust for certain stations. Our TVs picked up about 18 stations, all broadcast in HD.
