If you live in Va Beach I would not recommend this product. It does not have enough power to be able to get anything out of it. You will need something with a little more firepower than this flimsy thing

Too expensive, bad reception

This is no better than the cheapest antenna Best Buy sells. We tried this one and it was worse than our super cheap rabbit ears! We got reception but it was poor at best, non existent at worst. Don't even bother with this one.

Doesn't work in my rowhouse

I've been trying to "cut the cord" on cable TV for years now, especially since one company holds a monopoly in our city (which means they can drive up the price & give so-so service at best.)
So I was psyched when I picked this up. But for me, in my house? With the antenna thisclose to a south-facing window? Nothing. Nary a blip, except for a local channel that shows nothing but frizzy "snow".
I'm jealous of the folks that can work with this one, especially since at under $25, it's a total steal. Guess I'll need to buy one that packs more of a punch. Bummer. Back to the drawing board.

This antenna did not pick up but about 3 channels for me and I am only 20 miles from Downtown. I even tried putting it outside as high up as i could and it didn't pick up anymore channels. I ended up returning it our of disappointment and and frustration.

No reception. Does anyone have tips? I will try to find out whether the resason is my home location or the product. I see from the review that some loves it, and for some, the product didn't work. Assembly is really easy. I would have loved it, if it worked. T.T

I bought this for my girlfriend that lives in South Indianapolis. Even though she is 10-20 miles from many TV transmitters you can only pick up a few with out having to CONSTANTLY adjust the "ears" . Really was disappointing to pay $40 when the previously $9 pair of rabbit ears did just as good.

Thought I would try this to get channel 11, which was taken off Cablevision. Set up was a breeze...unfortunately it could not receive a single channel. In addition, raising and lowering the antennas put a black coating on my fingers.

Not for users in certain city areas

I live in downtown Grand Rapids, and I was unable to pick up any channels in the area. The only channel I could get was one from the Battle Creek area. This may be more in part to the GR location than the product, but not worth the money if you're in the same situation. I returned the product.

I switched out from a non-powered to this amplified antenna and did not experience much improved reception in this center city Tucson location. The on-off switch is not very obvious and so I forget to switch off a lot, too. I may have to look at another manufacturer.

The frequency of the antenna is not strong enough to get station that I had with my old antenna. Other company have better antenna. I should have waited to get antenna but I brought this one because it was there andi didn't want to go to other stores to get one.

No better than $10 TV antenna

Review title says it all. I had a bargain antenna attached to a DTA box and the reception was fair. At least it brought in all the available channels, although it skipped a lot while tuned it. I thought maybe I should "upgrade" and spend some more money and maybe it would be better. Not. It's actually worse. It doesn't even pick up all the channels. Those that do come through are spotty. Channels pix-elating worse than with the $10 antenna. It only works the best if I stand there and hold it. No, it's not next to a phone line, trees, or windy areas. Taking it back to BB.

Not a single channel came in and no WPIX :-(

I was so excited to try and get WPIX in since there is a dispute between Tribune and Cablevision. Well, not only did I not get WPIX in, I did not get one single channel in.
Do not waste your time or money on this product if you live in Long Island it just won't work. Plus I got black oily stuff on my hands from the antenna. Yuck. Too bad, it looked modern and nice, but in the end it just doesn't work in Long Island, at least not in Huntington. It's being returned over the weekend. Guess I will have to watch Vampire Diaries a day late on internet, boo hoo.

Researched units in this price range for quality and reception. Also spoke with a Best Buy employee. I explained to the employee I primarily needed it to receive WGN due to the Directv outage. I was told this unit would pick up a station from that distance. After determining this would be the best option, I purchased it. It was easy to hook up, however, it did not pick up any stations from anywhere. I had total snow and a few squiggly lines as though it were trying to connect to a station. And that was as good as it got. I returned the item the same day.

OVERCHARGED for In-Store purchase; Poor reception
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
To begin with, the InStore price was $40.99 while the OnLine price was $19.99. I tried repositioning the device, changed how high it was located, adjusted the length of the dipoles (rabbit ears. I even belted it carefully to a hat/coat stand that I have here. Nothing could improve the poor reception quality nor pull in even one network channel. Got one station in spanish with weird stuff. Another station from Canada, in french. MEtv, CoolTV and a bunch of fuzzy stuff. Worthless piece of junk. Packing it up right now and driving the 20 mile round trip back to the store.

It is slightly better than the cheaper version, but not by much. I had to rearrange for most channels. Took it back and using the cheaper one. I was disappointed, I wanted a better reception, not the same.
