I've got a shotgun mic mounted on the stand that I use for video conferencing and also for voice over during video creation. The base is surprisingly heavy for its size and has a bit of a rubber ring on the bottom of the base that may dampen vibrations as no bumping or knocking the desk turns into audio noise. I can have this low and away so it's not in frame on video and I prefer this over a boom arm.

Not cheap, which had me hesitate for a minute ... but incredible quality, and you get what you pay for. Pairs perfectly with my PodmicUSB+ But it would work with any desktop application just right. Recommend!

Sturdy, easy to adjust; fits my work style

I ordered this on Saturday and it got delivered the on Sunday. It's heavy, sturdy, and easy to adjust. I use it as a stand in front of me at my desk to get the mic close to my mouth. I'm using a Rode NT-USB Mini USB Condenser Microphone so I had to remove the mic from the stand it came with and remove a piece of rubber in order to attach the mic to this new arm. I now have the mic close to my mouth and my arms are on either side so I can still type freely on my keyboard. I position the mic so that only a small portion of it is visible during video calls or content recording. The sound is improved because of how close the mic is. Please be very careful and keep yourself on mute because everyone will hear everything you say including thoughts you unconsciously verbalized that you assumed were too quiet to hear.
