So, this Mic is wonderful for those who have crappy on camera microphones, however my Sony so, this mic is wonderful for those who have crappy on camera microphones, however my Sony A7 III’s isn’t terrible and I find that it is comparable. This is not the mic for you if you were doing like an interview between two people and a large room because there will be a lot of echo. You need to get wireless lapel microphones for that. It’s definitely a great thing that this has a rechargeable battery.

I've used it primarily in an outdoors setting hooked up to a GoPro Hero 8 with a videomod accessory. Functions well as far as audio goes, but with the deadcat on it (that I purchased separately), it gets into the field of view of the GoPro when mounted directly on top of it. Of course, there are several workarounds for this (such as getting a coldshoe mount extender to increase the distance between the mic and the GoPro). This would be a great option for those doing interview with DSLRs or larger cameras/camcorders, since I doubt the mic would get into the field of view. Happy to have this in my arsenal and to put it to good use.

Great micro. Great update with auto on and off. Work well with my 4k camcorder and my canon dslr. Two issues. Cost little too much for what it is and in the way when you are taking pictures on dslr.

Looking for something to record audio while shooting with SLR. While a bit pricey, I think it is a good value - good quality sound, adjustable pickup and rechargeable battery puts it a step above the res.

I bought this Rode to use it with my Sony A7 iii camera. The sound is so smooth while using Rode. It's easy to attach it to the camera and setting it up. There are many extra features that are added to this michrophone which helps make your videos or recording better.

It's a little bulky once you swap out the foam windscreen for a deadcat, but the audio it produces is well worth it. Battery life has lasted throughout every shoot and the high/low channel function has saved me more times that I can count.

Best microphone available, especially for DSLRs. I use this with my canon and it’s great. The sound is great, the ease of use especially with the auto on/off feature is awesome.

Sound quality is excellent. This unit is the the BIGGEST RODE yet so be prepared. I found it a bit cumbersome and you will get lots of stares when out in public.

We purchased this as a municipality to use for live-streamed Covid updates for our city in March. We have a much more elaborate setup in place for scheduled or planned releases, but this lives on a mic stand with a cellphone clamp close to the Mayor’s office for quick and easy cell phone recordings that need to happen fast; he can set this on his desk and go live with great audio in about 2 minutes if needed. We also use this setup as the audio for our failover encoder (on iPhone) for planned live streams. We love the ease of use, dead simple design, and directional polar pattern (it’s not a shotgun, it’s not supposed to be. It’s not a micro-condenser, it’s not supposed to be!)

Excellent audio quality for the value. The new long lasting battery design is awesome, long life span, unit turns off on its own when the DSLR shuts off. Performs very well if boomed in a pole. So good I had to buy 2x!!
