I seen the 2012 remake of this movie and loved it so when I saw this original at best buy I knew I had to see it. It was a great movie and I love seeing the versatility of Patrick Swayze. Definitely worth watching.

Another movie that was fine the way it was/is/and forever etched in Blu-ray. Girl should have left her nose be though. She was beautiful already... That's a minor niggle though....

Grew up with this movie. Action packed, will keep you on the edge of your seat. And lots of actors who we grew up with some that are still here and some that are greatly missed

I watched the newer version before I saw this, and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. Sadly, this 1984 film holds a glimpse of the future for us now.

Okay, this is one of my favorite cult movie classics. Not the very best of acting, but it just somehow works to make a very entertaining movie. Plus, who doesn't like explosions and some fighting American wolverines!

Still holds up better than the remake. It has been well over 20 years since I had seen this version and it is better than I ever remembered.

It is the dawn of World War III. In mid- western America, a group of teenagers band together to defend their town, and their country, from invading Soviet forces.

The film portrays war in a somewhat negative light, but preserves patriotism and acknowledges the legitimacy of the Second Amendment. I highly recommend buying this DVD because of that! The only blemish that it has is the sound quality.

Such a classic movie from the 80's. Back when everyone in the US was afraid of Russia. This movie plays on that fear. Should be in every movie collection.

Great young actors in Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, and Charlie Sheen make this a fun movie to watch.

1st saw this when I was in the Army back in the '80s. Great movie! The remake isn't bad, but get to know this 1 before watching it.

I always loved this version of Red Dawn. The new version just seemed too far out there for me, but the older version of the movie was full of great actors and great plot.

Swayze, Sheen, Grey. That pretty much sums up how silly this movie is going to be. Take Platoon and try to add in some Dirty Dancing and you're almost there in terms of how seriously this movie can be taken. It doesn't matter, however, because this is a true Cold War Flag Waiving Classic. Russians invade America and High Schoolers save the day. There are some particularly good scenes with C. Thomas Howell and Powers Booth as well as some nice work by Harry Dean Stanton, but this isn't about the acting, it's about killing those darned Ruskie invaders. Pure silliness that leaves you satisfied on a 4th of July.
