If this game wasn't marred by unnecessary survival mechanics & a plodding pace, I'd easily give this a 5, but its shortcomings hold it back. Graphically, it's a stunner. Narrative wise, it delivers a tale that is fun to experience. The world is massive & beautiful, but you will be traveling A LOT, and it gets boring & repetitive real quick. Honestly, this game is too big for its own good. If you have a life outside of video games, this may just be too overwhelming. There's so much crammed into this game that it's throwing tutorial message after tutorial message at you for a while. If you take breaks from games & don't rush through them, you're very likely to forget a good portion of the mechanics whenever you return to the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

I play this game on my XBOX ONE S. So many games take place in the future; this one takes place in the past, so the premise is interesting. Due to the timeframe, I DEFINITELY think that this game is more 'relatable' (as much as can be that is). It is fun, action-packed, and is no more violent than comparable games with the same rating. Every kid is different, but I do let my 13 year old son play this game. It is fun!

Immersive story and beautiful graphics. I've loved every second of it, but I haven't had any online experience and can't speak for it. Nothing wrong with the 60 dollar price tag and it's certainly worth it, but as with any title at that price, wait for a sale! As of the time of this review (5/8/20) it's on game pass, so if you want to try it out get game pass for a month or so!

Positives- The story is great. They put a lot of effort into dialogue. Negatives- Some movements are over complicated with button controls. And controls are clunky. Bump someone riding by on a horse? They fall off and shoot at you. Mission failed. You can't run when you want. Some areas you're forced to walk which gets annoying. My main gripe is travel. Play the game for 10 hours? 4 of that will be traveling between points on the map. Play the game for 100 hours? You get the idea. A real fast travel option really should have been included. Not the crap they put into this game.

Gives you a run for you money, worth it if your ready

This game might pull you in with its remarkable story. It also might take 3 months to complete the story, so make sure your significant other understands you'll be busy. I finished this game in HD only to get a 4K TV shortly after. HD looked incredible, but I had to test it in 4K afterwards and it looked amazing. Highly recommended, especially if you played the first one.

I can’t play 1st person shooter games due to my eyes being so sensitive but in this game you can play in 3rd person which helps so much! The graphics are the best I’ve ever seen in any game and the storyline is so amazing and makes you want to keep playing and you get so invested in Arthur’s/the gang’s lives! And online just launched and even though it’s a beta with a few bugs to work out, it’s so much fun!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a gorgeous game, and quite possibly the most immersive single player game ever. Sometimes it can be immersive to a fault, as you have to remember to eat, sleep, clean your gun, and brush your horse. However, I don't feel like any of that comes off as a chore, but I can see it getting old for some people. Either way, it's a sprawling game with well over 100 hours worth of stuff to do.

If you’re an RPG gamer you simply must play this!!! Story is amazing, graphics are fantastic, side missions and tasks are really fun (geez I literally spent an actual month wandering around just fishing and hunting). This game is incredibly long and you truly great your moneys worth.

Rockstart is known for meticulous game design and testing. Red Dead Redemption 2 shows the enormous amount of time spent on developing, testing, and refining the game. All aspects including the graphics, sound, gameplay, and story show incredible attention to detail. They have recreated the rough frontier life. It feels as though you are living in the world with the main character during that time period.

I've been looking forward to this game since Red Dead Redemption on 360, but delayed getting it until I upgraded to Xbox One X... And although it still looks pretty good on older models, nothing short of a high- spec gaming computer can compete. It looks simply stunning, the story is compelling, but most importantly the gameplay is deep beyond belief and just plain fun.

Bought this game a few weeks ago and have spend way too much time playing it. The graphics and story line are awesome. I don't want to get too much into the blood and guts or the killing of wildlife for survival but it has it all. Still haven't finished the story and I'm pretty confident I have close to 80hs or more invested. That's crazy! Yes, I would recommend this game to other!

This is an excellent follow-up to the original. There is a wealth of content to pursue. Side missions and activities aside from the main storyline will keep you engaged for many hours. The extra content can be tedious at times, such as keeping the camp stocked with wild game, but these are not necessarily required to enjoy the overall experience. That said, it can be relaxing and enjoyable to just hop on your horse, and go hunting, or just enjoy the countryside. You are never pushed to continue the main story. Sometimes you just want to put on some old timey country music and pretend to be an old timey cowboy.

Rockstar has done it again, delivering a massive, thoroughly entertaining game that appeals to many different gamers. The world is beautiful, the characters well-developed, and the story interesting. Like it's predecessor, the best moments are those random encounters as you freely wander around the world full of crazy NPCs. Gameplay is fun and the controls easy to grasp despite the complexity.

I don't play a lot of Video games. I'm fairly picky. But this game is awesome. Red Dead Redemption 1 was one of my favorite games and this RDR 2 is on par with the first one, might be better. If you love the old west, this game is for you. The story is awesome and the graphics are simply amazing. I'm really hopeful that they make RDR 3.

Graphics are excellent as well as the storyline and gameplay

The story, character development, and game play are phenomenal. I really enjoyed the game and my one complaint would have to the amount of time it takes to traverse the game world. You will spend a lot of time riding your horse long distances to complete relatively short missions. The amount of side missions and random character events while traveling really help to break up the monotony.

Gameplay and story is awesome. Can't believe how much was crammed into the game!

Best game to exist for generally everyone to play.
