Red Sparrow is a film that may not be for everyone. It can be dark and bleak at times. However, I found it to be a solid watch, especially if you like thrillers. Jennifer Lawrence was good in it and the cinematography is also quite good. The 4K transfer is nice in terms of picture and sound quality. If you liked this film, definitely pick this up. If you are on the fence, I'd recommend renting it first before purchasing.

It's a good movie that follows the general plot of the book, but does take an unnecessary detour from the book to set-up a sequel (that I don't actually think is coming). Jennifer Lawrence is compelling in her portrayal of Dominika Egorova but the CIA characters are not nearly as compelling as their novel counterparts are. Nash's portrayal comes closest, but even that is not enough to save this movie.

It's ok -- not something I'll watch often -- better as a rental. Just couldn't really get into this one. Seemed to cold and detached.

I’m guessing I didn’t realize what a red sparrow was, well this movie definitely showed what it was. Like it enough to watch several times.

The movie was better than I thought. I have read and watched some movie reviews about this movie. Some of the critics were complaining about the length of the movie and sexual violence. The violence might be a bit too much for certain individuals to watch. The movie moves rather quickly for two hours plus movie. I watched Red Sparrow twice now so far it's a decent movie.

The idea of the movie is decent. But overall it is not a great movie and drags at points. Would have been a better rental... :-D

I’m guilty of checking out the critics reviews before heading out to the movies, so I passed on Red Sparrow while it was in theatres, even though it looked interesting. In my opinion, the critics were too hard on this movie, Jennifer Lawrence was very good, the action sequences were strong and the plot kept my wife and I guessing all the way to the end. Would definitely recommend for those who liked Atomic Blonde or Hard R rated spy movies

POSSIBLE SPOILERS I'm a Jennifer Lawrence fan but she was horribly miscast, No way could she pass as a ballerina-- too big and too busty though seeing her nearly nekkid was kinda nice and her acting was very good--what kept me from giving this flick one star. I'm pretty sick of the old saw of blaming Russia as so heartless when we are just as bad or worse. Also the 4k presentation was pretty underwhelming

Nothing special here just a mediocre drama. If you want to see Jennifer at her sexiest and most uncomfortable, this is a good watch.

I usually enjoy her movies. It had a good premise, but then did not do much with it. The picture is over without much happening.

The long dialogues and quiet innuendos were boring and made me tired. The scenes of violence felt inhumane. It felt blah overall

I feel like this movie has been done to death. La Femme Nikita, Salt, Columbiana, and on....and on... The only real diffence is the people who star in these films. I always go into these films hoping to get surprised by something original. This is just another take on the same themes of the previous films I mentioned.

Atomic Blonde this movie is not. It slow moving, more psychological thriller than physical. There is quite a bit of nudity.

Jennifer Lawrence starts out as a Prima Donna and ends up recruited by a relative to be a Russian spy. Her training would kill a lesser woman, but hatred drives her on to become an important asset to the Ruskies as well as the Americans. Lots of gross out violence and nudity is the reason for the "R" rating. Who is the real hero is the question that you must answer.

The movie is alright but overall kind of bland. Nothing new. Nothing exciting. More of a time killer.

I was expecting more action due to the nature of the profession. However, the movie was still good.

The film itself is criminally underrated, it feels like something you've seen before but at the same time it give Lawrence the chance to shine in a unique role for her. The steel book is incredible! Sometimes less is more and in this case I couldn't agree more. I love the high gloss case but it's a nightmare for fingerprints.

Red Sparrow in 4K is fantastic. Jennifer Lawrence plays Dominika Egorova who struggles to survive as a Russian Sparrow spy against an American CIA agent. To really understand the way Russia uses spycraft and her agents, I highly recommend the companion books written by Jason Matthews, a former CIA station chief for many years. The books are: Red Sparrow, Palace of Treason, and The Kremlin's Candidate. By reading the books, which are tremendous, you will totally comprehend the way Russia spys on the US

Jennifer Lawrence never fails to deliver. One of my favorite actors and she is spot-on in this edgy role. The fact that I was able to use a reward certificate and pay virtually nothing for the movie was an added bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and if you like Jennifer Lawrence I'm sure you will too!
