Customers are saying

Customers value the K552-2 Kumara keyboard's solid build quality, attractive price point, and ease of setup. Many appreciate the backlighting and compact size, finding it ideal for their needs. However, some users found the blue switches noisy, and others missed the absence of a number pad. Overall, the positive feedback on build quality and price outweighs the negative comments regarding the switches and lack of a number pad.

Great price, good build quality and overall usage while gaming has been great. Price did went up, no idea why but still affordable compared to other gaming keyboards! Its a small keyboard so no num pad. Mainly using it for gaming but 0 problems using it for other typing jobs. Sadly Redragon webiste does not offer keyboard firmware updates but overall considering the price vs build quality and plug & play, totally satisfied!

Does everything I want it to, plugged it in and it was ready to go. Lighting has different pulses and modes but not lights. The keyboard Keys only glows red. Other than that it works perfectly fine an awesome keyboard I got on sale. Love it.

Although blue switches are primarily used for typing. I think for the price to performance ratio of this item that it is well built and solid for even an enthusiast gamer. it doesn't have a number pad but i think a 60% keyboard has alot of the functionality of what a gamer would use as it reduces the amount of space it takes on the desk.

Excellent mecha keyboard for an unbeatable price. One of the few hotswappable TKL keyboards that don't cost an arm and a leg. Very nice doubleshot keycaps with clear legends. Not a fan of the font but it is very legible at a glance. Nice typing feel and sound profile, a bit crunchier sound than your average cherry blue keyboard but smooth, clacky actuation on every key. Comes with 4 extra switches, a keycap puller and a switch puller. Switches have box type stems. Doesn't need any special software for the mono-color lighting, all functionality is controlled using the Fn key macros. One thing I was disappointed about was the lack of a lighting mode where the keys are all lit and when pressed fade out individually. There is the opposite, where the lighting is off and pressing a key illuminates it. Also, the special lighting modes do not work when one of the game-specific lighting macros is being used. Aside from not being able to pull off those party tricks this is a good board. The replaceable switches and great build quality for the price make it or it's RGB variant worth picking up.

I have one gripe and that's my problem not the keyboards and obviouslywon't dock a star for that. I am used to Red switches, not Blues. Blues are fricken loud. There is some nostalgia here in sound and feel. The build quality is good and priced right. Overall a 5 star keyboard.

Good keyboard, really love that they send extra clickers. You can change the keyboard to only light up certain keys as well which was really cool to me. Was alittle disappointed it didn’t have the numbers on the side of the keyboard as well but that’s 100% my fault and lack of paying attention! Love this keyboard!

Best entry to mechanical switches. Nothing beats the price and value of this Red Dragon keyboard. Very responsive and it also has pretty lighting settings.

Ok, I have used the K552-2 Kumara Wired keyboard for about a week. I like it. The switches may not be authentic Cherry MX Blue but they have good feel and give a nice loud click. The Ten Key-Less (TKL) layout is perfect for both gaming and work. I use the arrow keys a lot but the numeric keypad rarely so this is a perfect compromise that frees ups desk space. The red-only LED backlighting is per key and shines through the keycaps, not around them. Brightness (and other things) are adjustable without software. The keyboard is good and heavy so it stays in place even while gaming. There is no extra width so I can easily pick it up with one hand. The USB cable is high quality rubberized and not detachable which I actually prefer.

This is a very solid keyboard for the price. It is incredibly loud though and lacks a keypad (as you can see). Due to lack of keyboard, the size is pretty good. The keys are spaced out pretty nicely. Just be warned, it is louder than most “mechanical” keyboards.

It is really loud. The build is solid. The keys feel nice and good. Even came with extra switches, nothing crazy special. If you need a small keyboard with the arrow keys. You like to save money and if you like mechanical key switches. I definitely recommend it, the only thing I'd like to see would be a wrist wrest as an optional accessory. When I was typing an essay (still in school) My father said from across the house "Are we in a doctors office" overall it is a good solid keyboard and I feel it will last a long time. Just don't smash your keyboard after losing.

I was looking for something with Cherry MX blue switches, and was initially drawn to this keyboard because I thought that they were Cherry MX. When I realized that they were “Cherry MX Blue equivalent”, I was going to pass on it, but at it’s listed price it didn’t seem like there was much downside. We have only used it for a day, but the feel / feedback is great. I can’t speak to the longevity, but I am definitely happy with the purchase. Anyone looking at Cherry MX blue switches, knows that they are loud (which these definitely are). In my mind, the noise is worth it.

If you're looking for an entry-level mechanical keyboard with clicky switches: your search may be over. Pros: + Swappable switches, no soldering required! There are 4 spare switches included along with keycap pullers to make cleaning and mods/repairs easier. + True plug-and-play. If your device supports USB keyboards, you'll be able to use this board with it. I tested mine with: Windows 10 PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 Pro, and an Xbox Series X. It won't magically work with games that don't support keyboard and mouse controls. + Full N-key rollover (NKRO): you don't have to worry about holding down too many keys at once, as they'll all register and be passed along to your device. + The included Outemu blue switches provide excellent tactile feedback. I find that I make fewer typing errors compared to my other board with Cherry MX Reds. + The macros are pretty neat. Being able to disable the Windows key should be a standard feature, along with mute and volume control. This board has all that and more, but may be more limited than other boards. + The cable does feel nice: good flexibility, but doesn't feel fragile. It should be long enough for most users. There's a velcro cable wrap on it out of the box to help manage excess length that you can slip off if you want. + The price! I managed to grab this for under $20 on clearance. Neutral/Subjective: ~ Wired only. If you gotta have wireless peripherals, this ain't it. I prefer wired peripherals based on cost, latency, and it's nice to never worry about battery life. ~ The blue switches are quite clicky, and everyone in your voice chat will be able to feel every single keystroke. Consider using push-to-talk if you are unwilling to assert dominance. If you want a quieter typing experience: consider another board, or look at compatible switches. Linear switches such as MX reds are fairly quiet, as are non-clicky tactile switches like MX browns. You can also put rubber o-rings under the keycaps to keep the caps from hitting the deck, but you'll always have the clicks from the keys themselves. ~ How it feels to play a game on this board will depend on the genre and what you're used to playing on. Personally, I switched back to my board with red switches after one match in Apex Legends, and will be trying with other genres that may fit better. ~ Very gamer-y key legends. This'll stick out like a sore thumb in any professional environment. You can swap these out with most keycaps, as Outemu's stems are MX-compatible. Cons: - Not all brands of switches are compatible, and may need to be trimmed to fit. Akko are confirmed to drop right in, while Cherry need modification. - The backlight color is red, and only red. You can adjust the brightness, and there are a handful of different options for lighting patterns. Full RGB backlighting and customization would be an unreasonable expectation at this price point for a mechanical keyboard, but it is worth mentioning. - The cable isn't detachable. This is normal for a cheap board, but having a standard USB connector would be a substantial value add. Having a user-replacable cable would make it incredibly easy for said user to pick the exact cable length needed/wanted for their setup, or replace it if damaged. - The USB connector is huge, and may interfere with nearby ports, or be unable to connect at all if the port is recessed (like the front USB ports on a PS4 Pro.) It probably sounds like I'm being harsh on Redragon, but I do quite like this board. If they address some of these admittedly minor complaints on this board's successor? They'll have a real winner on their hands.
