love this movie as a comedy but the underlying truth is what makes me watch it again and again

The reviewers who don’t like this movie are the very people Maher is satirizing in the film. Even if you are religious, you should be able to find this film funny and enjoyable as long as you are smart enough and open-minded enough to accept the fact that all faiths are based on stories that have been passed down for thousands of years, and that no one knows for sure what lies beyond the physical universe. Everyone has their own set of beliefs and no one on this earth will ever know the truth, so we should all be accepting of other’s faiths and stop wasting so much time and energy hating each other – this is the message that Maher makes clear at the end of the film.

If you have a mind that refuses to accept whatever is spoonfed to you in life, and insists on finding the answers for yourself, this is a movie you owe it to yourself to see. Maher is on the same quest. In looking for his own answers he decides to look into the commonly accepted and not so commonly held answers of other people and belief systems. And there are some amazing answers out there. He takes us on a trip throughout the world to examine the wisdom of the ages, questioning the basis of each. His commentary is hilarious but right on the money. You will find yourself examining your own basic beliefs about life, and have a great time doing it!

Truly an eye opening film for those who have questions about the various religions of the world. Maher isn't afraid to take on the big three (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) as he asks the big questions. Sadly, most of the people who really need to see this film will be told by their preachers that they shouldn't. And more's the pity because without questioning, faith is blind.

It's an amazing documentary that simply explains things without making up lies or stories. If one does not the answer... why make up one! .. or 2 or 3 Where we come from and where are we going? We don't know... let's just live life as it is!

I'm so glad that this documentary was made. I don't understand why most Americans blindly believe in things that are unprovable. Bravo Bill Mahar!

This is a must see. Bill Maher once again shows he is one of the smartest people on earth.
