Really enjoyed watching the DVD. It was fun to watch those that were in prior casts join them on stage at the end.

The final performance of Rent from Broadway. Great story and great acting. I definitely recommend it.

This could very well be the greatest musical ever, it had a long run on Broadway and walked away with countless awards too! It's message is beautiful and it's music is to die for; this show is awesome. This musical has toured all over the world, it's original cast has gone onto become icons in tv/stage/movies (Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, Taye Diggs, Jesse L. Martin, Idina Menzel) and it was even made into a major motion picture back in 2005. (I wouldn't reccomend that one though, it kinda sucked, even though it had most of the original Broadway cast) This is a great memento for "RENTheads" like myself to relive the final Broadway performance of this timeless classic. This particular cast is kinda weak though (Tracie Thoms who plays "Joanne" also played this same character in the 2005 film, the woman playing Mimi used to be on the Soap Opera "One Life To Live" and the highlight cast member is Eden Espinoza who played "Elphaba" in "Wicked" in Los Angeles and on Broadway; she's incredibly talented) But overall, this is a great keepsake for true "RENT" fans like myself....NO DAY BUT TODAY! This might not be for the casual movie-musical fan, but give it a shot, it's a beautiful show.

My wife and I love Rent and saw it on Broadway once and locally every time it comes! We liked the movie, but loved the play more. This is certainly a way to keep your memories alive of the play version. I was suspect that the cast would be weak, but I should have known they would only have great voices in the last weeks of RENT, and boy do they ! They do have the original Benny & "Seasons of Love" woman for this show, and the rest are top-notch! The DVD is so impressive, I had to catch my breath after at the first Act just like at the play - I let the DVD play for most of the 10-minute intermission they filmed. If you love RENT, this is a must have; you will not be disappointed.

I think this is a priceless DVD for any RENT or Broadway fan. I was able to see one of the final shows of RENT with most of the people you see in this filming of the show. The story of RENT shines as it is presented on the stage, full and uncut, the way it was intended. Jonathan Larson the man behind RENT was amazing. Will Chase (Rodger) is an amazing talent and has a beautiful voice that will stick with you for a long time.

As a young teen who never seen a live RENT show and who only seen the RENT movie with the original cast, this movie is a great expirience even tho i wished i was there to see it =)

I have seen Rent on broadway quite a few times and it is by far my favorite show I've seen and I am moved by it every time I see it. I was however, slightly disappointed in the cast of the DVD with the exception of Tracy Thoms. I thought the interactions were forced and there was no intrinsic chemistry between any of the actors. I thought the cast tried too hard to encapsulate the vibe from the original cast. In trying too hard it was a little more over the top than it needed to be and a lot of the subtle nuances in the interactions were lost. Point being, don't try to hard to mimic a good thing, let sleeping dogs lie and let's remember Rent at its finest, not with this DVD rendition.

Great movie. Not only do you get to see the final Broadway performance but you also get to see all the off stage action.

Such a great Broadway show! In my humble opinion, it's a must-see. Changed my life. :)
