You must put in to fridge and hold the water dispenser on until bubbles clear through line. Takes about 5 mins to get the water flowing normal without bubbles.

Also the box the filter was in was in terrible shape and dirty but the item itself looked in good shape.

I believe it's recommend by the manufacturer to be replaced each year but it still shouldn't crack! Replacement works perfectly. Overall I think it's a system that can be improved upon.

That slowdown starts after about 3 months, and becomes irritating at about 8 months. So a biannual replacement becomes almost a necessity. Just wish they sold them in a multipack.
