If ignorance is bliss, then Floridajpr must be the happiest person on earth. This movie is filled with great music and lyrics and they are sung by some very talented singers. No, the producers didn't get people from bands trying to break into show biz. Obviously some critics don't know who Sarah Brightman is or didn't bother to look into the back ground of the actors in the movie. Anthony Stewart Head and Alexa Vega are mainstream actors that have a heavy background in music, Terrance Zdunich has a fantastic baritone voice, and Sarah Brightman is a consumate professional soprano opera singer... this movie was actually her first experience with acting. All in all... if you're looking for something fresh and entertaining, and you enjoy rock opera type movies, please check this one out.

I love this movie! I got the soundtrack months before the debut tour that hit a total of eight cities nationwide; then I dressed up and attended the show! :) I am a fan of obscure movies and dark comedies and the like have a special place in my heart, I love movies like "American Psycho" and "Shaun of the Dead," however I also enjoy chick flicks; "Two Weeks Notice" is one of my favorites :3 It is safe to say that I have a very wide taste in films. Honestly at first glance I was turned off of this movie because of two main discrepancies: Paris Hilton and Darren Lynn Bousman (who directed Saw's 2-4 which I was not impressed with) HOWEVER after getting hooked to the soundtrack and then seeing the movie I was turned into a devoted fanboy! The directing was ingenious, that coupled with brilliant acting by those such as Alexa Vega and Anthony Stewart Head and the amazing operatic vocals of none other then Sarah Brightman brings forth a cult classic that has the potential to last through the ages! My only problem with this movie is simply the fact that it is so obscure that many won't bother to give it the chance that it deserves! I hope that all those who stumble across this post and have even the slightest taste for the peculiar will go and check this out. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

This movie was incredible I originally got it because I'm a huge Anthony Stewart fan and it did not disappoint it had everything action drama glory murder scenes and of course musical numbers to the beat of people getting their hearts ripped out lol not saying this film is for everyone if you're like me and have extremely warped sense of humor it will definitely entertain make you laugh and leave you with a feeling of what the hell did I just see lol all in all I am extremely happy with my purchase and I would definitely recommend this film to everyone including the people who would not get it at all because it's just funny seeing their faces when they're like did that really just happened =)

I have been listening to the soundtrack from Repo! The Genetic Opera for 2 weeks straight, ever since I saw it in theatres, and I haven't once gotten sick of any of the songs! First drawn to the film because Anthony Stewart Head was in it, then wary because Paris Hilton also plays a part, I decided to give it a try and was amazed. The plot is creative and unique with excellent cinematography. There are wonderful performances from Alex Vega, Anthony Stewart Head, and, my new favorite, Terrance Zdunich!

This movie has quickly gained "cult icon" status with it's national tour. Being a mix of comedy, horror and drama, it can be best compared to Rocky Horror Picture Show with lots of steam punk/gothic overtones. The cast does an amazing job bringing this futuristic world to life. The only thing I did not like is that with all the singing, sometimes it is hard to follow what is going on. Should be a lot easier to understand on the home theater front than in a crowded noisy theater. A definite must see hit!!

I am a musical/theater guy and really wanted to see this when I saw previews for it. I rented it first and then ended up buying it soon after. Although it's definitely not one of the better "musicals" out there, I still enjoyed it and thought it was pretty interesting. This film is really not considered a musical, though, but rather a "rock opera." A rock opera has much harsher, darker, and louder music to it, sometimes with the songs lacking actual melodies. In a rock opera, the lyrics almost sound like they're spoken. This film is pretty graphic and is definitely not for kids. In my opinion, this shows more gore than "Sweeney Todd" did. It's about our world in the near future. Our planet has suffered from a major plague and many people have died from a mysterious illness. One company, Geneco, runs all the healthcare for everyone, so every person is at this company's mercy. This is the only company that can give you your kidney transplant or a new heart. However, the owner of the company decides to give everyone a break. He gives people their surgeries and transplants whenever they need it and they don't have to pay for them -- for a while anyway. When time comes to pay up and you don't have the money, you'd better watch your back. Repo Man will be on his way to collect back Geneco's property -- your organs. There are a few different subplots as well, but it would take forever to explain on her. There are a few relationship issues and twists throughout this film. "REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA" was made by the same companies that created the "SAW" franchise, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures. "REPO!" stars Alexa Vega (SPY KIDS), Anthony Head ("BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER"), Paris Hilton (HOUSE OF WAX), Sarah Brightman ("The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway), Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL'S REJECTS), and Paul Sorvino (ROMEO & JULIET). I wouldn't get the soundtrack to this flick, but some of the music is cool. There are some cussing and nudity in it, which really wasn't necessary at all! Over all, it was pretty decent and very unique. If you see this film, however, you must not have a weak stomach. Although some of the gore was purposely made to be fake-looking and humorous, there's still a ton of graphics in here that are pretty gross. With all that said, I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

I saw this movie when it came down to San Diego. I had been a part of a group that had been waiting excitedly for weeks for it to come down here. I was not dissapointed. Even my mother enjoyed watching it and this is totally not her thing.

Awesome movie.... the cinamatography is a bit different from maintream film, so some viewers may not like or apprciate it for the art that it is. I was pleased that the plot was the main focus of the movie not all the gore.... which there was a lot of. If you like musicals you might consider giving it a try... Definately different from any other musical I've ever seen and I love it!

What drew me in was the fact that it was a violent and gory rock opera. When I saw the cast and how very eclectic it was, I knew I was going to love it. I went in with extremely high expectations which usually ruins a movie for me, but not this time. There's another viewing in LA and I'm there! I downloaded the music to my ipod that night and I listen to it all the time.

it was just the regular feature length and i could have watched it ALL DAY long. stunning visual effects coupled with an all-star cast. i even liked paris in this flick. with a wide range of music styles i was never bored. can't wait to go home and watch it again.

Completely twisted & deranged this movie totally rocked! Not knowing exactly what to expect going into it I was immensly pleased with the way it turned out & have since watched it another dozen times...

This is a great show! The plot is wonderful, and yes even with a gory rock opera it is touching. It has an awesome soundtrack full of people from great bands and wonderful acting. This is definitely a must have!

At first I thought wasn't going to really like this because Paris Hilton was in it, but even she was good in it. The singing in amazing, and the plot is very original.

A very good movie adaption of Terrance Zdunich and Darren Smith's story and characters. The songs are very catchy, and you'll sing them after the movie's done.

I LOVE this movie. Everyone should see it. I totally recommend it to everyone I know. And I hope to see you all... AT THE OPERA TONIGHT!!!!!

Not a fan of operas or musicals for the most part. I absolutely love this movie.

I watched this movie with my two daughters, 10 and 13, they loved it! Personally though, I don't care for singing in movies. But, the kids seem to like it. If you're looking for a good family film to sit and watch with your kids, I'd say yes. But, for a serious adult film I'd say no. Most of the people I know that liked it were kids and teenagers. Most adults don't care for it. Like I said, it's a great kids movie.

My nephew loved the DVD. It was just what he wanted.
