Such a excellent remake! If you are a fan of the original you’ll love it!

1998. Aunts basement, popcorn and pizza out and about. Late at night, creepy music, sounds of horror, then BAM zombies everywhere. My cousins and I jump on each other in fear as our oldest cousin is making his way to the Raccoon City Police Station. Fast forward 24 years, upon start up of this game, it brought me back to my Aunts basement. This brought back so many nostalgic memories that I have thought were long forgotten. I just made it to the parking garage and this game is as epic as I remember, and proves why this was one of the Greatest Games ever made.

Now this is what a true remake is supposed to be like if it’s classic. The entire game is gorgeous and well worth every moment to play.

I would definitely play this game in the dark by yourself. Scared me when I played this game since it’s been awhile I remember where to go on the game. Now I understand why this game is nominated for game of the year.

Really enjoyed this game, i only played As the female. So i feel like just that was worth it if you get this game on a deal.

The original is better, but this is still an amazing remake

I have own the all original Resident evils and a couple of remakes. Mainly the gamecube and wii remakes of resident evil. And RE 2 on the PS 4 is the best in my opinion. The graphics and game play upgrades make it a blast to relieve my wasted youth. The zombies and mutations arent too over powered and the amount of ammunition is just right.... if just a little too available. Which makes it fun to kneecap zombies for fun, but a little to easy. BUT fun. This game brought back some good memories and has decent replay value with the two character stories. It takes about 10 hours per character to complete and unlock at all the hidden goodies in the game. I hope RE3 is this well done.

This resident evil 2 game is one of the greatest remakes in my opinion. Which I believe gets a PS5 upgrade. Incredible graphics! Awesome story and great action

This is a fantastic remake of a fantastic game. The controls, atmosphere, gameplay, characters, and story are all top notch. Highly recommended.

This game is a re-imagining of Resident Evil 2 (1998) from the ground up for modern systems. No direct port with HD filters. Core story and locations say the same with some quality of life changes There are additional dialogue and cutscenes that get you more involved in the story without changing the overall plot of the original. Game flushes out minor characters more. Characters give off more than a few lines with more serious dialouge . New areas and rooms. There for treading more ground with more zombies to fend off than being part of the core narrative. No loading screens for room transitions. Now you can walk seamlessly from room-to-room with no pause inbetween giving more immersion and tension. They've reworked the puzzles. Something new for veterans of the series, so they don't breeze through them having experienced the original There are 2 main story campaigns following Leon and Claire . You go through the same map/areas but both have different story beats, and use different weapons. Leon' story revolve around investigating the reason for the outbreak, while Claire is more of a rescue mission. Each campaign can last around 6-10hours long depending on difficulty setting and how much you explore, get game over screen. Unlockables include: Concept art, character models, skins/costumes for getting A & S rank in missions ---Gamplay: 3rd person over the shoulder compared to the fixed camera tank controls of the original. Very reminiscent to Resident Evil 6 except less action based. Your melee weapon and knife can break, giving off more tension seeing ammo is scarce. You can move while aiming, but if you stay still, your aim reticle expands giving you more precision There are new weapons, along with new secondary weapon You can now board window down limiting access to zombies. New item fusions. Item management similar to RE7. Boss fights are more tactical with each being a puzzle on it's own, having to figure out how to take them out --Difficulty Modes There are 3 difficulty settings: 1. Assisted. Has aim assist, health re-gen, and weaker enemies 2. Standard. Adaptive difficulty. Enemies become easier or harder depending on how well you're doing. Gets harder if you constantly land head shots, and easier if you're pause in fear and let enemies hit you during pop-up scares. 3. Hardcore. Saving requires a ink ribbon. There's no auto save, and enemies are stronger --- Graphics and Sound Visuals are very good. One of the best of the current generation consoles. A huge leap up from the original. Best played with headset on, or with surround sound system Environmental sound, echos and lighting are really good. Comparable to Resident Evil 7. Voice acting is really good compared to the dialed in B-movie voice actors in the original Very fun survival horror game, and re-imaging of a classic for modern audiences

Re2 is a nice update to the classic game. I have been having a blast revisiting the game. But, not going to lie...I miss the evolution of his the game played by re4. I hate having to struggle with ammo especially early in game. This game is far more survival horror then the action horror it became. I’ve had the the pleasure of playing every RE game at the time of its release. Having seen and felt The series change so much. The story remains strong and well intertwined into the RE universe. My only complaint is I do feel like ehhh I’ve done this before at times...because I have played the game before. I wish they had added more new things to it. I can highly recommend it if you have never played. If you have you will surely enjoy the nostalgia. But might be lie me and wishing a few things were different.

Great game. I'd probably give it an 8.5. Graphics are exceptional, controls are tight. Pretty bloody of a game, but you should expect that with Resident Evil. Game has several fairly difficult puzzles, and ammo is severely limited, so you may get frustrated if you're looking for a run-and-gun game. Still, I recommend it.

The original RE2 was my favorite of the fixed-camera style RE games. I had high expectations for this remake and they were well exceeded. Following the third person entries of RE4, 5, and 6, REmake 2 is a much needed return to having normal zombies feel like a threat. Once again, finding yourself in a room with even a couple zombies is an anxiety-inducing situation. That's not to mention more challenging foes like lickers, dogs, or the infamous Mr X. I've startled others by yelling loudly as I suddenly landed in these types of intense moments. Inventory management and resource scarcity demands you familiarize yourself with the levels' layouts. But this comes naturally as you go from area to area finding keys or tools to access a place you were gated off from previously. Lighting and graphics are top-notch, and the story has the classic somewhat cheesy RE charm. One of the most tense horror games I've played in recent years.

An excellent reimagining of the original game. While not scary in the same way as the original, this one's creepy in its own right.

I wasn't expecting this game to deliver on so many front! Graphics! Story! Control mechanics! Replay value! Character design! This game was awesome! Definitely worth playing at night in a quiet room. Has great frieght moment! A quality game!

This is such a good remake of a classic PS1 game. Plays so well and I am looking forward to more remakes after we got RE3. Resident Evil 4 and 5 should be next and those will be must owns as well.
