    Decent, too short

I finished the game in about 8 hours - and I play REALLY slowly: I take my time, enjoy the graphics, try to read all background stuff pinned on noticeboards, hide around corners while a single zombie shuffles slowly into view, and backtrack miles just to dump stuff in item boxes so as to avoid leaving any goodies behind! And yet 8 hours for £35 seems a bit steep. As for the content, despite being survival horror, it was a refreshing change from The Last of Us Part 2(!) - a game I had eagerly anticipated for 7 years and quickly ended up despising (Amazon won't let me review it as I didn't buy it from them. A suspiciously inconsistent policy, especially for a game that deserves 1 star out of 5). The designers of NEMESIS took the novel approach of making a game that is actually *fun* to play (imagine that!) and does not take itself too seriously. Unlike LOUII, it does not sanctimoniously proselytize the correct moral thoughts and political opinions you need to have. There were genuine jump moments and, despite being much overused in the zombie genre, the hospital setting is sincerely creepy with its blood-stained walls and floors. The dodge button is good for large enemies but I found it mostly useless for zombies. The secondary weapon mechanic of RE2 is gone as is the option to use it to break free from enemies (sadly missed); but frequent autosaves, typewriters (manual save stations) and item boxes keep the action flowing. Jill is made very likeable which is nice as she, along with Chris, was the original protagonist, but seems to have been largely forgotten in favour of Leon and Chris. Even Carlos is not too grating, as many military characters (caricatures) in the Resident Evil world are. In summary: a simple, fun zombie game, enhanced by nostalgia, but you'll be done within a weekend.

Full disclosure: I have never played the original RE3. However, I really enjoyed this R3make - the graphics are excellent, the controls are solid, and the overall story is quite well told. I understand the a lot of people are upset with some of the story changes and the length of the game; wait til this is on sale then, because I really feel that this game is worth playing. For those worried about replay value, it definitely is worth replaying multiple times.

This game is awesome and blows the original version away by a long shot, the gameplay is intense and nerve wracking every step of the way. Seeing how RE3 is a prequel and sequel which takes place 24hours before and after RE2 (the first half of RE3 happens before Jill gets infected with the T-Virus, then RE2 begins with Claire and Leon going into Raccoon City and after their adventures they escape the city with Sherry Birken....then the 2nd half of RE3 story picks up with Carlos healing Jill with the T-Virus vaccine). The story telling really gives even further insight that explained the events on how the Raccoon City Police Department went downhill and how the zombies and monsters took over the station killing everyone, plus you get to see how Marvin Branugh was injured before Leon and Claire meets him at the police station not to mention how the hole was made in the shower room before you get to the S.T.A.R.S. office etc.. Also Nemesis is stronger and scarier than ever and he’s much much faster, MR X in RE2 is child’s play compared to Nemesis because he so fast when he’s chasing you. If you don’t have the right firepower to defeat Nemesis just run, if you don’t you’ll be continuing the game from dying a lot but that’s just only the beginning because he has 3 stages he changes to......good luck with that.....lol

This remake is good. Awesome graphics, beautiful lighting and decent story. The only problem is that the game is too short. And if you compare it to the original, there is a lot of sections missing. Also there really is no replay value other than the shop you unlock for infinite weapons. This game is definitely not worth $60. It feels more like a DLC to RE2 if anything.

I avoided the modern remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 for quite some time because I was angry that Capcom did not hire the original voice actors to reprise their respective roles. However, after eventually breaking down and playing the demos for each one, I softened my stance. The gameplay is fun, and heart-pounding at the same time!

I never played the original RE3 game, so I don't know how exactly this compares to it. This game feels similar to the RE2 Remake in terms of graphics and mechanics. Even the Nemesis boss feels like a slightly different version of RE2's Tyrant. Yet, I loved the game all the more because of it. I think this game is exactly what it needs to be. It's a refreshed version of a beloved classic that attempts to capture a new audience. I'm a long time RE fan, but the first RE game I owned was RE4 (still the best in my book), so these remakes allow me to experience the story of the original games with updated looks that match the expectations of current generation gaming. I've seen fans of the original complain that the remake is not as long, but I think the story feels complete. I feel satisfied by the amount of gameplay I got out of it and the game even include REsistance for free (for those who like that type of gameplay), which is a whole different experience. Now, I have to give BestBuy a shout out because they always win me over other retailers with their steelbooks! I love collecting those and getting a free steelbook with most games (even with the regular edition) is just such a great value.

before I say anything else, this game may not be worth your 60. Buy, if you: -if you are a hardcore RE fan -enjoyed re2 remake and want more -enjoy high replay value Don’t buy, if you: -don’t like short games -don’t like one off campaigns -don’t like asymmetrical multiplayer If you call under don’t buy, wait for a sale. I say it’s worth a playthrough as it is a quality campaign, but may not be worth 60. I have played through this game twice now and have a had a great time. It’s a more action oriented RE2 in a bit more open environment. Nemesis is a fun and scary threat although his presence is completely killed after a certain point due to him becoming a boss only. Jill and Carlos are seriously so fun to watch and they are at their best here (I’d love to see them in future installments.) I enjoyed RE3 classic but I always felt it had a mish mash of weirdly executed ideas that I didn’t really care for. To get to my point, RE3 remake cuts out a lot. There are some key locations/boss fights/enemies and a game mode cut out. I personally don’t mind the removal because as I said I never took a liking or dislike towards them but I can understand why some would be upset and you should take that into account before making a purchase. As much as I enjoyed this game and can excuse the removal of some things, I can’t deny this game has a sense of laziness to it. There’s definitely a rushed feel to it. My biggest gripe is the removal of the Mercenaries game mode which seems like it’d be a no brainer given the much more action oriented approach this game carries but I guess not. I love the replay value a lot of the RE games have and this one has plenty (there’s also a store to unlock items such as infinite ammo weapons, certain items to give the characters better stats, and a costume) but it has gone down significantly with the removal of mercenaries. Pros: - A great Resident Evil game. - Still manages to scare you - A much better and more pronounced soundtrack than RE2 - Combat is still relatively fun - Story is thrilling and I’d even say better than classic - Jill and Carlos. Amazing - two extra difficulty modes that challenge the hell out of you - great voice acting - some fun boss fights - nemesis. When he works, he works exceptionally well - replay value still great albeit not as great as RE2 Cons: - has a real sense of laziness to it - no mercenaries - is a bit short (I don’t mind but some may.) - nemesis is toned down after a certain point - lacks a certain “oomph” a lot of RE games carry - gore significantly downgraded which is probably due to the increased enemy count but I feel it was downgraded just a bit too much

Great nostalgia for the original RE3. A nice retelling of the story with superb graphics. The story is short but it does have high replay volume because of all the challenges.if you’re a player that likes to get all the trophies/achievements you’re going to play this game at least 4 or more times. It also comes with RE Resistance which is a fun online game as well.

This is a worthy remake of the original classic game . There’s a lot of new stuff added but also lots of older stuff not in the game . The original will always be best but this is quite fun. Definitely stuff in this that wasn’t in the original . It’s fun but seems a little more challenging then the original as well.

I'm a big fan of the resident Evil franchise, so for me it was a no brainer purchase wise. I'm usually a first person shooter player, but this game offers so much including superb story, amazing graphics, and non stop action. Definitely suggest purchasing this game.

Many reviewers complained about how short this game is but I don’t mind it at all because you’re required to run through it multiple times to snag cool unlimited ammo weapons like the rocket launcher. If the game was any longer, I’d probably put away and let it collect dust on the shelf with my other games that I don’t play anymore. The fact that it’s short makes it tolerable to play it again and again. The graphics look amazing and so are the sound and gameplay. It’s less puzzle oriented but I appreciate this change to make this third installment remake more action oriented. I think this game is perfect. The characters are likable and it does carry the baton well from RE2 Remake in that it didn’t disappoint me. This and RE2 are now my two favorite games and I find myself replaying both games a lot, with FF7 Remake sitting on the sideline (which I barely touched).

Capcom did it again. They made this game into such a joy to look at. And it also plays very well. It is very short. I believed it was gonna be expanded upon. But nevertheless the game is really fun and opens up once you complete your 1st run. .

Resident Evil 3 is a great action/horror game that brings the classic RE feel! Puzzles and zombies galore with a decent replay value. I’d give it 5 STAAAAARS, but the game runs pretty short. A good pick up to play in-between other bigger titles.

Don’t let any bad reviews you might have read fool you, this is a really fun game. It does feel a bit more actiony than horrory, but the gameplay and graphics are great. For me personally it wasn’t as good as part 2 since it feels a lot shorter and less scary overall, but I still had a blast playing through it and multiple times as well, which I don’t usually do. This also isn’t a 1 for 1 remaster of the original RE3 and is missing some stuff that was in the original, but if you can overlook that, I think you’ll still have fun with this game.

Resident Evil is my favorite horror game franchise of all time, and this game, Resident Evil 3 Remake, is no exception of a great RE game. Gameplay while more actiony compared to it's predecessor, is a lot of fun. Still has the elements you would come to expect from a survival horror game, and the combat is in line with Resident Evil 2 Remakes combat which is fantastic. Un-surprisingly, the game has amazing graphics, considering that the game was made on RE Engine. The soundtrack is also fantastic. The two main gripes I have with this game is the game is really short, and parts like the clock tower sequence in the original are missing. Overall, it's a fantastic Resident Evil game that I can't recommend enough. If you like Resident Evil 2 Remake, you should definitely check this out.

Although it is a step down from the excellent Resident Evil 2 remaster, this is still a solid game that focuses less on the horror/dread and more on the action. It's paced well, and gameplay and graphics are outstanding.
