Best ps5 purchase I've made. A remake of the best Resident Evil game and it did not disappoint

I never played the original (although I will before the year ends), but as a standalone game in 2023, this remake is one of the most fun, engaging, and thoughtfully designed single-player games I have ever played. Strikes the perfect balance of campiness, tension, and fun. The moment-to-moment gameplay is a dream, and even after spending over 20 hours on my first playthrough, I'm already eager to dive back in for more. The first true GOTY contender of 2023.

I am a huge fan of the resident evil series, but re4 original is and always has been my favorite game of all time. When they announced the remake I was extremely nervous that capcom would mess it up… but once I finally got my hands on the remake and dived into it, all those fears and questions disappeared. They put so much love into this game and didn’t leave anything important out. I enjoyed it just as much if not more than the original. I absolutely love this game.

Awesome remake of Resident Evil 4. I played the original and this is just as great. With modern graphics and gameplay.

This version can be played in PSVR2 - which makes it awesome. Regular cutscenes are still flatscreen, but that's okay. You manually reload weapons with your hands, actually throw grenades, and use the knife to your way. This is one of the best PSVR2 games that have lived up to the hype.

I was very concerned once Capcom announced the release of RE4 remake due to the disappointment that was Resident Evil 3 remake. Spoiler, for those who have not played the game yet, many parts from the game were cut out from the RE3 remake. With that said, i have played about 8 hours of RE4 remake, and i am pleased to say that it looks graphically amazing. Equally, the controls feel responsive, and the enemy AI are smart and tough. Re4 remake is a must buy.

Unbelievably great remake for one of the best RE games! I remember playing this game back on the game cube and the 3rd person combat changed the game for this series. Honestly should have been up for GOTY.

I had previously never played nor had any interest in Resident Evil. However, after a friend recommended it, I decided to pick it up and I cannot express enough how much I love this game. I put 90 hours into it and Platinumed the game on PS5 and I already want to dive back in and play it again. It's equal parts fun and exilerating and I loved every second of my 8 playthroughs. I had no idea how much I was going to love this game when I picked it up! 11/10
