Very Good Resident Evil Game

This game is more or less the same style at resident evil 4. RE 4 took a departure from the Tank controls and pre rendered backgrounds from the previous RE games. If you like RE4 then you will love RE 5. RE 6 is the worst in the franchise imo, but RE5 is still a solid title but not as good as RE 4. This verision has all the previous dlc content from the ps3 and xbox 360 vers .

I like that they have done HD remakes. Thats why I got this game again and played it all the way through. It made sense to make this into a HD remake.

Resident Evil 5 sees the return of one of the original RE legend, Chris Redfeild! Continuing the revolutionary ganeplay of Resident Evil 4, but to the next level! Now you can play the the whole story coop! An amazing game, with quality through the roof. One of my favorite series, favorite games, and favorite characters. Awesome game, awesome experience. Especially with a friend.! >;)

Still Holds Up But Beware!

Love this game! If you were a fan of RE5 back when it first released then you'll be happy to hear it holds up very well and is still great fun. HOWEVER, the game does need an update. If you're playing online co-op there are some major bugs. Issues managing your inventory and upgrading your gear. Hopefully Capcom fixing this issue soon.

Co-Op Dream!

When this game initially came out, it changed the way Resident Evil approached multiplayer. Definitely one of the best Co-Op games from this generation where you would go through hours of grueling challenges and puzzles. Not much has changed from the original version with the exception that all DLC and maps come in this package at an awesome price to this day is a steal.

Plays great on the PS4

The game runs great in HD on the PS4. It runs around 50-59 fps and seems incredibly smooth. This edition includes all of the DLC of the Gold edition and comes at a budget price. I already own the Gold edition on PS3 and double dipped to play through on the PS4. The story line is great and well worth the price of admission especially if you haven't played it before.

An Underrated RE Game With Only Minor Improvements

RE5 on the PS4 feels like a natural fit for the console, even if the graphics haven't actually been improved. It is sharper, cleaner, and better looking all-around, but it doesn't appear anything has been changed. The game plays at a steady 60 FPS, and still looks good, so if you're looking for some RE4-lite coop action, this is still a great choice for the lower price point.

Best RE co-op experience you can get!

Between the full co-op campaign, the Mercenaries, and the extra DLC co-op content as well, this is the BEST action-oriented RE game you can get for the co-op, with Revelations 2 being a close second place finisher. If you're going in solo, RE4 still reigns supreme, but don't overlook 5 if you have a friend to play couch or online co-op alongside.

Despite the forced co-op ( which will not be a problem until the final boss fight by the way) the game plays well, better than 4 actually, with improved controls and features. The bright setting detracts from a typical RE game though, and some things are too over-the-top, even for this series. Otherwise though, it's every bit as good as 4 and this version features so much additional content you'd be considered foolish to not partake.

I had purchased this game because I wanted a game I could play with a friend while they were visiting. We had played a previous version in the Resident Evil series together and enjoyed the game play. Unfortunately from the start the controller set up and movement in this game was limited and not efficient or functional in comparison to the other RE games we'd played. We are use to being able to move and shoot in most of these games but in this particular version anytime you shoot or slash with a knife you are halted and stuck/immobilized in one place. Strafing and/or pivoting to attack is next to impossible. I am sorry I spent money on it. My only hope is that perhaps there will be an update that will fix the movement game play. I will say that the graphics were like many of the other RE franchise but that was the only plus I could give the game.

Great Restoration. Never Going To Be Perfect

Like I said, it's not perfect but it's hella fun and the couch co-op abilities are awesome on this game. Definitely classic resident evil controls. I actually bought and played RE Revelations 2, then sold it and used the money to go buy this on PS4 because Revelations 2 just wasn't as solid as this game. It's definitely a great game and a lot of fun to play on co-op.
I am definitely impressed with the restoration of this game from the xbox360 and Ps3. It brings the game up go full 1080p 60fps. The original is only 30fps.
Many people online were upset at the restoration of this game but honestly, it will never be 100% perfect and that's okay to me. It definitely is solid on the new platforms.
In comparison, the PS4 restoration is definitely better than the XboxOne in terms of frame rate. There are many times when the Xbox drops down to 40 or 50 fps rather than 60. Although the Ps4 does this as well, the xbox does it more often.
Overall, if you liked this game before ...buy the restoration and play it again. Worth the money.

Still Holds Up as One of the Best RE Titles

RE5 is the best-selling of the series for Capcom, and while it may not be the masterpiece that was RE4, it is leaps and bounds better than RE6. RE5 was the start of Capcom moving the franchise towards an action-shooter with a little less horror, and a lot more explosions. It works here. The PS4 version enjoys a better frame-rate, and sharper textures. The improvements are subtle so if you've already experienced this game on the 360 or PS3, it's hard to recommend it.
This version does include all DLC content. These add-ons are on-disc so if you missed out on the DLC, you may want to pick this up to play through the short stories and try the add-on costumes. Again, neither are meaty DLC, so if you've played the campaign already, it's tough to recommend.
For those who never played RE5 on the earlier console, or (like me), started but didn't come close to getting anywhere, then the PS4 version is worth the price of entry. The game holds up pretty well, and for $15-20, it's a solid title that beats most other budget games handily.

If you been a fan of the resident evil series, then RE5 should be your alley. You play as Chris from the original resident evil series as he teams with Sheva to uncover a threat of a virus outbreak in Africa. Good team play mechanics and good storyline make this a classic resident evil game.

Amazing action game and a LOT of fun to play with a friend!! Is it scary? That's debatable (I say it isn't). Is it a good action shooter? Absolutely! And the $20 (or less) price tag makes this game an absolute steal!! Same with RE6 and 4! Support Capcom!!!!

Action-Packed Resident Evil.

After Resident Evil 4 the series started to take a more action-game turn. Resident Evil 5 was the first game to approach this role. It's a good game but just an okay Resident Evil game in my opinion due to this. It is co-op which made it fun but also made it less survival horror.
