Since the live-action films are such junk I'm glad Capcom produced these CG films that actually takes place within the same continuity as the games. Excellent story just, as one would expect, the CGI is quite dated.

I believe this animated film is canon with the games. If you're a Resident Evil fan pick this one up. The film feels like the cut scenes you work so hard for in the games. Leon & Claire make this the best of all the RE films (including live-action - sorry Milla)

The cgi movies for resident evil are much closer to the games than the live action ones and are by far much better quality. Really enjoyed this movie and an adventure with Leon and Claire is always awesome.

This was one the first 3D animated movie for the resident evil series. Although, I was wish they would have worked in the english dub a little better, its still a great action packed movie; full of the famous characters from the video games series.

Now this movie is the first in the animation series but I still prefer/recommend to have all of them in the collection from the Resident Evil movies live-action but I still don't give up any spoilers!

The visual looked pretty good for its time and the story was tight and had that classic resident evil feel to it.

It's got a lot of action and suspenseful moments, but it kind of looks like an outdated PS3 game. A most own for hardcore fans of the franchise, but not many other people will appreciate it...

The First TRUE resident evil movie to come out.

This is the first Resident Evil movie to come out that has the exact storyline of the past games. The directors chose Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield (NOT ALICE!!) to star in this movie since RE 2 was the most famous and highest grossing game of the whole game series in the world and they were pretty much the embodiment of the Resident Evil game. The story sets off after the events of RE4 (the Game) with a focus on the RE3 Nemesis Raccoon City explosion. The whole movie was like playing a whole game but only with insanely better graphics (watch how real the water is at the end of the movie during the WilPharma lab explosion when Leon and Angela escape, the fire during the WilPharma truck explosion, and the fire that Curtis Miller started in his house). Couple these with a great story leading up to the soon to be released RE5 and you have a great Resident evil plot. I give thanks to the people who gave justice to the characters and the T-virus! A MUST buy for RE fans.

I am in love with this movie!

I expected this movie to be good, but it was better than I ever could have imagined. If you're a fan of the games, you'll recognize Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. There are also a few new characters, who by the end of the movie, you'll either love or hate. That's what is so great about the movie; you feel a connection with the characters, the new and the old. The movie fits right in with the games, but can also be enjoyed by anyone who isn't yet familiar with the Resident Evil story. If you are familiar with the games, you'll notice slight details (for example, when Claire and Leon meet) that will have you *squee*ing with glee (I was!). The plot was excellently written and played out. There is action in the beginning, they build on the new characters, and then more action until the end. I was never once bored watching this film, and I get can bored fairly easily. The movie never felt too short or too long, though in the end I was wishing for more in a "I love it too much to see it end" sort of way. All in all, I say this one of the best movies I've ever seen. And it is most definitely the best Resident Evil movie ever made. Five Stars - Two Thumbs Up - A+!

    Best Resident Evil Movie Ever.

I would have to agree with Goingxcrazy. This Movie was very well made and the best Resident Evil Movie to date. Tough what do you expect from the people who created the genre. The movie keeps you fixed from start to finish. Action never lacking, no characters suddenly developing force powers like Alice in RE extinction. Characters live up to what they were made for and more. It also bridges the gap between Code Veronica and RE4. The graphic are beautiful almost rivaling that of a Final Fantasy full motion video. There is just enough story mixed with just enough action to make it a perfect combination. The only thing I could possibly see wrong about this is the same thing anyone would notice wrong with an import dub movie, the mouths are off. Otherwise, if you are a survival horror fan and/or Resident Evil Fan, this is a must have. Full and top ratings from me.

I only recommend this, because my friends are fans of the games. This is one of those cases I'm not sure how to rate it. I couldn't get past the idea that I should be playing this instead of watching. I didn't have that problem with the live action movies, so I have to blame it on the CGI. The lipsyncing is pretty well done since this was originally in Japanese (if I remember right), but the acting still needed some work for some of the characters. The extras are cool though and pretty good for fans.

This film is a must see for any Resident Evil fans. I started playing RE4 and got into the franchise. This film clearly explains what happens after RE4 and I guess it is a prologue to the events in RE5. The CG animation was excellent, it made it look like we were looking at real people instead of CG animation. Leon has definitely changed alot since RE4 but with a moire serious look now. Claire still looks good and has age a little bit. I wish the next movie could explain About Barry Burton or Rebbecca Chambers. Overall, good movie with lots of non stop action to watch if you're a RE fan or just getting into the saga.

"We all now the Resident Evil movies with Ms. Jovovich right? Well forget Alice couse in this movie she never existed. This movie remaines true to the RE games and is a sequel to Resident Evil 4. The movie takes place a year or more after the events of RE4 and returning to scene after battling with Alexia Ashford is Clair Redfield and also back from his mission is Leon S. Kennedy however fate conspires against them and the repeat of the Raccoon City incident is about to be played out again only this time at a local airport."
