The discs themselves were in perfect condition, but the product itself was already opened and the Digital Copy claimed. Didn’t realize it until I got home and pulled the Slip-Sleeve off. Went back to the store to exchange it and noticed another copy was open and stolen.

A very pigeon movie that I feel has nothing to do with the other resident movies and the story feels very forced and some characters very meaningless.

It’s not a perfect film, but I really dig the carpenter vibes and eerie tone. Give a shot if you like cheesy fun horror.

An excellent start for a return to the Resident Evil franchise. The movie mostly follows the first two Resident Evil games. Fans of those games will have plenty of easter eggs to appreciate throughout the film. Much like the Resident Evil 2 remake game, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon blends horror and action together very well. My biggest gripes with the movie are, where's Barry? Almost every character from the first two games are present except for Barry Burton. My other gripe is that for some reason they made Leon, one of the franchises most popular characters, into a complete bumbling moron. I'm not sure if someone had some hate for his character or what but I'm very displeased with the decision. Those two issues were my biggest reason for knocking it a star. Hopefully if we are granted a sequel to Welcome to Raccoon City my big disappointments will be addressed and maybe even make sense, along with a few smaller ones I didn't mention here.
Overall I really enjoyed the movie. As a long time Resident Evil fan since the 90s I found it to be a fun nostalgic experience. I would definitely recommend this movie to any RE fans, especially those of the original two games and their remakes. If you aren't a fan of Resident Evil this may feel like an empty horror action film to you. But as far as Resident Evil movie attempts go, I'd say this one is the best place to start for those new to the franchise. 4 out of 5 stars

No, it’s not a 1:1 recreation of Resident Evil 1 and 2, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable. The first 30 minutes do a great job at setting up the plot, and the next 30 minutes do a great job of creating tension starting some action. My only issues with the movie are that the end (last 47 min) was rushed (ideally, this movie really should have been at least 2hrs and 30min for all that they tried to cram in plot and character-wise.) Then my only other complaint is that three of the characters (I won’t say which to avoid spoilers, but you can probably find out by watching any Resident Evil fan review the movie online) are written to be very different from their video-game counterparts. This was likely done to make them stand out more considering there are 5 main characters and a few more with varying degrees of prominence. Not every change is “for the better,” but at least the writers committed to doing their own thing instead of being too afraid to take a risk,
Still, I had a good time watching this, and I think most people would too if you go into it with lowered expectations.

This is the latest movie in the Resident Evil franchise, and although it's not a direct sequel following Milla Jovovich's character Alice, it remains a worthy soft reboot that retains the best features and thrills of the story regarding the ruination of Raccoon City. 5 stars.

Surprisingly faithful, yet still taking an original approach. We really enjoyed it. As fans of the previous series of films, and long time fans of the game series it was nice to see the film series return to its roots in Horror over action. That said, don’t expect John Wick crossed with Scream. This is a very straightforward adaption. One people really slept on, or were too harsh. Remember this is “Resident Evil”, and not Midsommar. Actors are serviceable in their roles, and not winning awards. The story feels like it could be a game, and I honestly feel that was intentional. So take a chance, and I hope you enjoy this very good new film in the series’s.

RE Welcome to Raccoon City us very impressive on so many levels
This film is in the George A. Romero RE timeline
Many elements were taken from Romero's script adding more grounded real world logic with countless Easter eggs from the History/Games
The result is very good some of the GCI looks rushed/cheap but, almost all the infected citizens/Zombies look really good!
Lots of unique little details classic body horror elements
Umbrella is spot on and built up the proper way!
Cast seem to actually be doing there best,
if there was a Director's Cut submitted to the MPAA) The pace is very smooth wish it was longer
The score is awesome
Purest might have problems with some of the story narrative being changed up (Taking two major stories mashing them up)
But, these same critics will gush over RE7 & RE Village
The fact this film was buried online from the jump is actually heartbreaking it should've been a hit/Horror Hit!
It's actually a real legit live action RE Film (That doesn't insult your intelligence)
It's also a love letter to the fans, George A. Romero and low budget Italian Horror....Love this films so much bought both UHD home video releases

I am not a game fan or player but I do own all the original Milla Jovovich Resident Evil movies and I was rather looking forward to this prequel. I found the the first half of Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City quite entertaining as it introduces the characters and added a few creepy moments. However, its second half was a lot less than stellar and while the imaging and sound were still good, not much else was.
