If you’re a fan of the first two games then you will enjoy this movie. It’s pretty much a mixed of the first two games, grabbed the greatest hits and rushed it all into 1 movie. They could’ve made the movie longer and more story telling and Leo less of a wimp but other than that it’s still a fun ride if you’re a fan. .. the high quality also helps enjoy the movie I guess.

Wasn’t as good as I was hoping for. I never played the games, but enjoyed the other movies. This just fell flat for me. Great looking PQ and SteelBook but that’s about it.

The discs themselves were in perfect condition, but the product itself was already opened and the Digital Copy claimed. Didn’t realize it until I got home and pulled the Slip-Sleeve off. Went back to the store to exchange it and noticed another copy was open and stolen.

A very pigeon movie that I feel has nothing to do with the other resident movies and the story feels very forced and some characters very meaningless.

I’ll just put it out there, the only Resident Evil movies that do a fairly good job are the three animated movies (soon four). As for this movie it does at least a better job than the other 7 movie Alice in wonderland collection.
You get an interesting story that puts the lore from Re1 and Re2 together and has a number of moments that do play in each of the games. If you’re a die hard resident evil or just watch all things resident evil, even the Netflix series (Rest in Peace Lance Reddick), then I’d say this is for you.

Resident evil rules/ As a long standing resident evil games player its nice to see how characters are portrayed in movies. I saw this one before but had to have it. Its nice to see how good the acting really is and light hearted funny parts. Jill, Leon, Ada and Claire are some of my favorites. I'm looking forward to more movies and games.

This is the latest movie in the Resident Evil franchise, and although it's not a direct sequel following Milla Jovovich's character Alice, it remains a worthy soft reboot that retains the best features and thrills of the story regarding the ruination of Raccoon City. 5 stars.

Barry! Where's Barry?

An excellent start for a return to the Resident Evil franchise. The movie mostly follows the first two Resident Evil games. Fans of those games will have plenty of easter eggs to appreciate throughout the film. Much like the Resident Evil 2 remake game, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon blends horror and action together very well. My biggest gripes with the movie are, where's Barry? Almost every character from the first two games are present except for Barry Burton. My other gripe is that for some reason they made Leon, one of the franchises most popular characters, into a complete bumbling moron. I'm not sure if someone had some hate for his character or what but I'm very displeased with the decision. Those two issues were my biggest reason for knocking it a star. Hopefully if we are granted a sequel to Welcome to Raccoon City my big disappointments will be addressed and maybe even make sense, along with a few smaller ones I didn't mention here.
Overall I really enjoyed the movie. As a long time Resident Evil fan since the 90s I found it to be a fun nostalgic experience. I would definitely recommend this movie to any RE fans, especially those of the original two games and their remakes. If you aren't a fan of Resident Evil this may feel like an empty horror action film to you. But as far as Resident Evil movie attempts go, I'd say this one is the best place to start for those new to the franchise. 4 out of 5 stars

This isn't a good movie if you're looking for your standard entertainment flick. I don't think that was the attempt with this movie.
I feel this movie will only be liked by true fans of the original Resident Evil video games. But that's not a bad thing. I started playing RE1 on the original Playstation back in 1996. In 1998 when I got RE2 for my birthday, I was sucked into all winter long.
The references and Easter eggs in this movie from the early games is one of the appeals to it. And the layout of the RPD building and the mansion is great references to the first two games.
I missed my chance to see this in theaters, and I wish i hadn't. It was a fun movie if you're tired too the early games. And I think the soundtrack and Dolby Atmos mix is well done on this. Fits the movie well, and the image quality is awesome on the LG OLED screen.
If your a fan of the original games, you'll enjoy this. If not. It may not be a solid title for you.

No, it’s not a 1:1 recreation of Resident Evil 1 and 2, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable. The first 30 minutes do a great job at setting up the plot, and the next 30 minutes do a great job of creating tension starting some action. My only issues with the movie are that the end (last 47 min) was rushed (ideally, this movie really should have been at least 2hrs and 30min for all that they tried to cram in plot and character-wise.) Then my only other complaint is that three of the characters (I won’t say which to avoid spoilers, but you can probably find out by watching any Resident Evil fan review the movie online) are written to be very different from their video-game counterparts. This was likely done to make them stand out more considering there are 5 main characters and a few more with varying degrees of prominence. Not every change is “for the better,” but at least the writers committed to doing their own thing instead of being too afraid to take a risk,
Still, I had a good time watching this, and I think most people would too if you go into it with lowered expectations.
