This game deserved the praise it received when it was first released as it was one of the best PS3 games available AT THE TIME - however if you're looking right now for a first person shooter there are others out there that are easily superior. The game play iitself is pretty basic FPS and overall it is solid. The single player story mode is of good length and it is definitely a fun play. My biggest issue with the game was the difficulty curve. On the default difficulty settings, the fist 85% of the game is far too easy. I was going from level to level with ease and rarely dying at all. However, when I got into the last 3 or 4 levels, the game became impossibly hard. Not only was it extremely difficult but the save points got very spaced out so that dying caused me to have to replay huge chunks of the game over and over again. Even though I had fun along the way, toward the end of the game I just wanted it to be over as it was becoming very frustrating and repetitive playing the same extremely difficult parts of the game over and over again. Another thing that caused the game to start getting boring was the lack of bad guy diversity. The aliens in the game are cool enough but you fight the same basic foot soldier type though the entire game and there are only 4 or 5 different types that you see consistently. While there are a couple of impressive boss-type characters throughout the game there aren't really any outstanding or memorable boss battles. This game is sometimes being included when you buy a PS3 (that's how I ended up with it) and if that is the case its a great game to get basically for free and you should definitely play it. However, if you are looking for a new game there are several first person shooters that have come out since this game that would be more worthwhile.

I have to say for one of the first games that came out on the PS3 its awesome. Its holding me down till other games come out that I am looking forward to. Its very fast pace, non stop action. Its one of those games that you can not expect the unexpected. These creatures just pop out, out of nowhere. Now the AI sucks when helping you during battle. Its seems not only do you have to lead but have to pretty much do everything as well. I do like the fact that your health regenerates pretty quickly. The co-op is pretty cool as well. So would suggest purchasing this game.

game is bloody and gorry so its great.The graphics are out standing.The online play is great fun to meet freinds new and old.

i dont even know where to start with this game. from the campaign, to co-op, to online, its a must game. as you play in campaign you'll start to notice that the enemy are starting to learn you tactics and you must stay at ahead of them. in co-op you and your friend can find out that there are more enemies and they're more vicious. playing online is probably the best feature for this game. from 40 player deathmatch, to team deathmatch, to even capture the flag, this online game playing got it all.

Even after a year from its initial release, RFOM is still one of the best games for the PS3. The picture and sound quality is astounding, with total clarity of background effects and noises. Single player or co-op campaign, 4 person multi-player offline or up to 32 multi-player online provide hours upon hours of endless entertainment on many different areas, including downloadable add-ons. RFOM is a must have, not only for those who like first person shooters, but for all video game lovers.

first game i wanted to play with my ps3. great choice on my part. alittle hard to use both sticks but any veteran of shooter games will be fine. great weapon selection. monsters very realistic. warning: dont play this game at 2 in the morning with no lights on a 42 inch tv, scared me half to death with these freakin creatures. may be one of the first games out for ps3 but is still going strong in my opinion. all 5 stars.

I bought this game when i purchased my ps3. i like it and would recommend it. I love the co-op mode and the single player mode. Have no recommendation on the online play cause i am currently not connected to the internet. It is a game that is not to difficult. You can pick it up pretty quick. great price at 30. I am kind of looking forward to the second one coming out. 720 graphics. great for the money. i am glad i got it. good purchase.

This game is a must have. Graphics are great, story line is good. No brainer

This is one of the best games that I have ever played. There are some hard levels when you play alone, but try to play on cooperative and you'll definetly see it differently. It is action packed, has many intense surprises and is just like a great movie. I would absolutely recommend this game to others!

This was my first PS3 game. And it has been one the funniest gaming experiences i have come across. Online mutliplayer is intense and incredible!!! This game has been out since the beginning, and for those just now getting the PS3 this is still a game to get, especially at the new price point!

This game is truly the best shooter game out there, in my opinion. The action steadily intensifies with each level. This game keeps you on your toes. The graphics are awesome! The sound on surround sound can almost frighten you. After finally completing it I can not wait for 2 to come out!

This game is what made the PS3. Mutiple enemies and weapons. This game will keep you on your toes through out the whole game. Highly recomended. After I beat the game I tried to go through the game again only using the default gun and that is even fun. Nearly impossible but fun.

I've been a strictly PC gamer fan for the past 15 years, so I'm still getting used to playing games without a mouse and keyboard. But even with this handicap, the game is a lot of fun. It seems to combine elements of CoD and HalfLife which makes for great gameplay, with an amazing storyline. A must have for PS3 owners.

This is one of the best looking PS3 games and a must have for every PS3 gamer. This kept me playing for two days straight (with sleep pauses of course). What's addictive is it's story line, keeps you playing and playing and playing until you win! It looks like a combination of Wolfenstein + Quake + Call of Duty.

A great game", something you wont stop saying after you have played this game. When you chose the correct level of difficulty that suits you, you will find the game easy at times and hard at others. Well hope you enjoy this game as much as I did :] __--__ a must buy

i was blown away when i first played this game, it made me feel greatly exited like when i was 14 and got my sega genesis. i can't wait for the 2nd sequel so i can have the same feeling all over again, thanks SONY now i will never have to leave my room again.

I bought this game on august and when I first play it, gave me a very nice impression like a common war game. I didn´t play it to much because it wasn´t really my favorite game. I was hearing a lot about online on Resistance, I try to put it but it needed a 2 hours update, obviously anyone would get bored with this, but on November during a football game I started the update. The update finished and I started playing online (I think I would never play another game in my life) was incredible, people invite you to their "clans", also send you messages inviting you to games, and you have different titles like "Mercenary", "Corporal", "Private", etc. Also they sell updates for this game on PLAYSTATION STORE were you could buy new maps, more accesories for the characters, etc. So if you have internet on your PS3 buy this game, online gaming makes this game my favorite.
