Definitely worth a watch - but might want to just rent it if you can.

"Resurrecting the Champ" is one of those movies that sneaks up on you. As you watch the film, you begin to realize that it speaks to our basic human frailties, the need to live up to your parent's fame and the need to feel alive again. Both of these themes are touched on especially well. In the beginning, you may not know how to receive the movie but once it gets to the credits, you'll like 'WOW.' "Resurrecting the Champ" is a very good movie. Samuel L. Jackson works his magic as the 'Champ' and Josh Hartnett makes viewers feel his pain and the emotional roller coaster he goes through from the beginning to the end. With a hint of boxing for the sports fan, it is a movie worth viewing.

This largely passed by movie in the video store is one of those movies that come around once in a while. Samuel L. Jackson's performance is probably the best in his career. You won't regret getting this one.

The plot could have been made better. Didn't like the half-way turn movie took. Ending came out ok.
