Revenge Of The Ninja was the second film in the ninja “trilogy” of films that MGM released during the ninja craze back in the ‘80’s. Publisher Kino Lorber Studio Classics released this film on Blu-ray along with the previous movie in the trilogy, “Enter The Ninja”. I’m not going to be reviewing the movie itself, only the disc. If you’re looking to add this into your library then it’s likely you know how the story unfolds. For a movie that is well over 30 years old, I was surprised at how nice the picture looked. I did observe some specks in the picture as the movie progressed but it wasn’t too much of a distraction. Sound is a DTS-HD 2.0 mix. It’s adequate but I would have liked to have seen a 5.1 mix available considering the amount of combat sound effects that are present in the film, such as gun shots, swords clanging and shuriken being thrown. As was the case with the “Enter The Ninja” Blu-ray, I was disappointed that there were not many extras on the disc. The special features include an audio commentary by the director Sam Firstenberg and the stunt coordinator Steven Lambert. Also included is a video introduction by Sam Firstenberg, a behind-the-scenes gallery and the original theatrical trailer for the film. In spite of the disc’s shortcomings as far as extras and sound, I still think this is worth a buy, especially if you remember the ninja craze in the ‘80’s. It’s certainly not an academy award winner by any stretch of the imagination but still is an entertaining film nonetheless. Get it before it vanishes into the night.

Pure 80's fun here with a decent story to it. Lot of action to boot.

"Revenge of the Ninja" is the second entry in Cannon Group's Ninja trilogy. The story is predictable. The martial arts action is solid and a bit overboard at times. it is well-done B-movie fun. The bonus features are the trailer and a audio commentary. The commentary is worth listening to as the movie progesses.

Best ninja movie ever made! It about a real ninja and his son.. what more do u need? And boobies too!

80's Ninjas what can go wrong? Nothing its a great film especially if you watched as a kid.
