No More Worries about Charging Your Tesla
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter works great with my Model X. Perfect fitment, and easy to use. The Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter is made of high quality-durable material. The connection is solid. No loose areas around the connection port. The connection point where this adapter locks in to the Tesla connector is a firm and tight connection. This Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter is convenient to have when you travel, or need to recharge your vehicle while on the go. It works with all of the J1772 charging stations I have tried, whether it is a public parking garage, a charging depot at a shopping center or other dedicated charging stations like at hotels, etc. The Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter makes your charging experience seamless. I like having it handy. It's convenient to store in your vehicle. Does not take up much room at all. No longer do you have to be concerned that you may not be able to use the charging stations at or in route to your destination. It's a major relief. I highly recommend the Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter. It works well! It is made of high quality and durable material, and it mitigates any concerns about not being able to charge your vehicle when traveling.

No brainer for those with a Tesla!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is fantastic. I have a 2018 Model 3 Tesla that I wanted to have an extra adapter for home. This met my needs well. It supported 7-8KW charging with no problem. No additional tools, wiring, software patches were required for this to work, it was just plug and play. The build quality felt good, as the adapter had some weight and didn't feel like it was a light weight or light duty plastic. I have been using this for a solid 2 weeks now everyday and have pumped a total of 200 KWH of electricity to it and I have found no issues. It locks into the Tesla charging port with ease and hasn't provided any issues in regards to attaching to the car. From what I can tell this will be a good tool for anyone and everyone with a Tesla that needs to have a second adapter or lost the original one that may have come with the vehicle. I would love to see this offered in different colors just for fun, but I understand why black is the standard as is with all other charging systems. I look forward to other products from Rexing!

Great alternative to the OEM Adapter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review: the Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter The review is a bigger challenge than it was to check and test the adapter. There's not a lot to say, since the adapter does exactly what it should. It fits, it charges as it should. The adapter is a good fit in the car's receptacle. There's no play, it doesn't get stuck, and it's not a challenge to plug in. The J1772 end is good. Of the couple chargers I was able to plug into the adapter, it fit well and didn't seem that it was going to fall out if it were bumped or if there was a little tension on the charging cable. A friend's J1772 charger fit well and did well to charge my car while at his house from his solar on a faster charge. I feel the need to mention the little tab on the bottom of the adapter in the stock photo. I thought that little tab was going to be gone/broken quickly if it wasn't handled carefully. Nope. The material this is made out of is very sturdy and doesn't seem like it would break easily. I'm not going to drop test it, but it seems that it will stay for normal use. One last note. The adapter is small enough to fit in most of the cubbys in the Tesla Model 3. It doesn't come with any kind of case, other than the box it came in. I found the box nice enough and sturdy enough to use it to store the adapter since it's got foam padding in it. One of the other adapters from Rexing comes with a nice foam padded zipper case with a lanyard, but it's a larger, heavier adapter that could be awkward to store otherwise.

Works well. Provides options and peace of mind.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For me personally, one of the main benefits of owning a Tesla is the charging network. When I need to take a trip, I can be pretty confident I will be able to find one on my route. That said, there are sometimes gaps, as few as they may be. The bigger issue for me is that in my immediate area, there is only one Tesla charging station…and it is not really one I can conveniently or routinely utilize. So, while I do mostly prefer to charge at home, I absolutely use other networks that are a little more accessible in my area. For both of these scenarios, although more so the latter, this little adapter has been a very welcome surprise. As for the adapter itself, it is well-built, solid, feels good in the hand, and, surprisingly, not really that large. I really like the fact that it is small enough to easily put away and not take up much space. In use, I really had no issues and it worked exactly as advertised. Nothing got abnormally warm, and I had no connection issues. It is a bit tight, but I suspect this will lessen with more regular use. Ultimately, I like this adapter. It serves a very specific purpose that I need, it works well, it is well-built and should hold up over time. Further, anything that gives me options, and a little peace of mind, is something I appreciate. Getting all of that for a very reasonable price is great value. Hopefully, in the coming years, everything will all be on the same standard, but until then, this is a great option.

Works great but wish it had a lock ring
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having recently added the J1772 to Tesla Adapter to my EV toolkit, I've found it to be a valuable accessory that brings added versatility to my Tesla charging experience. The adapter itself boasts a sturdy build and a design that fits snugly into both the J1772 charger and the vehicle charging port. The contact points look very robust and markedly better than a few other adapters I've handled. Compatibility with various J1772 chargers has been reliable, allowing me to charge my Tesla when visiting family and friends with non-Tesla EVs. This is particularly beneficial visiting family a couple of hours away as I don't have to stop for charging. One aspect that could be improved is the adapter's inability to lock the J1772 charger to the adapter. This means its possible for someone to unplug the charger while the adapter itself stays attached to the vehicle. There are third-party rings that can be purchased to prevent this but I would like to see one included or a design change to integrate a locking mechanism. In conclusion, the J1772 to Tesla Adapter is a commendable addition to any Tesla owner's collection of charging accessories. It delivers on its promise of compatibility and convenience, allowing for hassle-free charging at J1772 stations. While there's room for improvement, the benefits of charging versatility make it a valuable investment for those seeking to maximize their EV charging options.

Nice to have works well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my experience, it is best to have multiple options for charging one away from your house. While the supercharger and network is excellent for highway travel, there are several destination chargers, which are level two and commonly have a J1772 connector. Many municipal and car dealer chargers often use this connector and will not have an American tesla charger, which is now known as the North American charging standard. The adapter is rated for both level one and level two chargers. While level two chargers can be between 15 and 80 Amps, the ChargePoint charger I tested on at a local target (free for the first two hours) charged at 30 A 240-volt. The adapter is nearly identical to the adapter that shipped with my 2001 Tesla model Y. There is a slight difference in the plastic on the lower portion which does not cause a problem. I also have a third-party red plastic ring which allows you to lock the hinge on a J1772 charger so that the magnetic lock protection built into the Tesla can function with an adapter like this. Unfortunately and rarely EV owners will unplug your ChargePoint charger and plug it into their own car especially at a mall or somewhere where it is free. Adding one of these plastic rings to a charging adapter like this will prevent that. I had no dirt disconnects during my charge, and there was no unusual heating of the Tesla or adapter distal portion of the distal charger.

Good quality adapter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't feel like you can have too many of these, I have one with the car but I have a j1772 charger at home and don't feel like adding a second charger quite yet, so having one of these sitting next to the charger is convenient, but then of course I have the problem that there isn't one in the car anymore. So having a second one that just lives in the car is super convenient. The built quality is excellent and I'm sure it will wear out eventually but it feels like it will take quite a bit longer than normal. These are 'wear parts' so if you're using it everyday, especially someone like me with a j1772 charger at home. It does fit tight, though it worked just fine. One thing that still gets me is, don't use the button on the j1772 to disconnect from the car. I'll accidentally unplug the j1772 charger and leave the adapter, then the door will try to close, and so on… annoying but no the fault of the adapter at all, just pull it out like you do with your tesla normally then press the button to release the adapter. I personally have not run into too many tesla destination chargers, I have almost always run into j1772 chargers which are surprisingly reliable compared to the non Tesla DC fast charging stations. All in all this adapter does the job, is high quality and I love having one at home and one in the car at all times, that way I never forget it.

An extra one for the road
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now everyone who has a Tesla knows that they can't live without a J1772 to Tesla adapter. Unlike DC fast charging where the Tesla Supercharger network beats all of the CCS providers, J1772 chargers are alot more ubiquitous compared to Tesla destination chargers. The OEM adapters come standard with any Tesla. However, all it takes is one drop, one mistake, a misplaced pebble//rock and it becomes unusable. Whether it is a bent pin or some components shaken loose. If you need a replacement, the Rexing adapter is a fine replacement. It feels as sturdy and clean as the OEM one that Tesla provides. The build quality definitely seems to be on par. I have not noticed any deficiencies in charging. It works fine and the speeds seem to be on par with what I was getting previously. If there is any noticeable difference between the Rexing adapter and the OEM, it is that it does seem to a be tighter fit. We will see if daily usage loosens this up. All in all, the Rexing J1772 to Tesla adapter is a fine replacement if you need one.

Every Tesla owner should keep one of these handy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Tesla Supercharger network is hands-down the best charging network on the planet for Electric Vehicles (EV), but as great as it is EV charging stations are still not as prevalent as gas stations. Tesla’s decision to not use the pre-existing J1772 charging connector for its fleet of vehicles means Tesla drivers have one-less set of charging stations to use should a Supercharger not be available in the area of travel. There is nothing more terrifying to an EV driver than being at less than 5% battery, pulling into a charging station and finding it closed for maintenance and so having a backup option for charging is a vital component of owning an EV. I suspect this problem will mostly disappear over the next 3-5 years which I write because in the 5 years I’ve been driving Tesla, the number of Tesla super chargers along my usual driving route between Georgia and Tennessee has increased from 3 stations to 8 stations. But even with that improvement there are still dozens of areas around both states where the stations are not available. The ability to use an adapter for charging at non-Tesla stations is essential. As to this specific adapter, depending on when you bought a Tesla you may have been given on of these adapters directly from Tesla. I’ve been surprised to find more than a few of the Tesla adapters cracked or broken and left behind at various charging stations around town which has always made it wonder about keeping a spare just in case. The Rexing adapter offers a solid alternative to the Tesla version which may or may not have been included with your Tesla car purchase. Connecting and using the adapter is as simple as aligning the connectors and snapping the two together. When the charging session is completed, I found the Tesla didn’t often recognize the session was complete so it left the charging port locked, which just means you’ll need to manually unlock the charging port to disconnect the adapter from the car. I see this same experience with other charging adapters, just don’t go trying to yank this thing out of the car when the session is complete. Overall this is a solid, easy to use connector that gives me the piece of mind that wherever I travel I have one more charging option for the EV.

Great replacement for the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing - J1772 to Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Adapter for Tesla is a nice replacement for the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter. The build quality is pretty good. However, I noticed it was made slightly different than the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter that comes came with my vehicle. I also noticed that it’s a tad bit lighter than the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter. Not sure if the in workings of the adapter uses lighter materials or if the plastic housing is made of lighter plastic materials. The adapter doesn’t plug in as smoothly as the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter but it works fairly well. The adapter does not come in a case or any type of pouch. Having some type of small case to put it in would have been a nice touch. I won’t complain too much since the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter did not come in a case well. Most Tesla owners, like myself, just place it in the glovebox or storage cubby in the center console. Tesla is constantly adding more and more Tesla Superchargers. However, there are areas where Tesla Superchargers are not readily available. This will allow you to charge your Tesla at non Tesla chargers. You will not be able to charge at the higher speeds that most Tesla owners have come accustomed to using the Tesla Superchargers, but it will allow you to charge your Tesla for those times when needed. It also comes in handy if you’re out shopping and want to use the charges in the parking lot of a business or if you’re staying at a hotel overnight that has EV chargers. There are quite a few other scenarios, but those were just a few. Overall, it’s a good replacement for the OEM Tesla J1772 adapter.

Really high quality adapter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.$159.99 is the MSRP for this product, but on sale at the time of this review for $109.99, even more of a steal! This adapter is truly a great value if you need one to begin with. It requires no second though of purchasing, you should just get it as back-up (in my opinion of course) that you can leave in your car for emergencies as well due to it's small form factor. The main thing to note and be aware of of course is that this is an adapter for your Tesla to be able to charge it at non-supercharger stations, specifically at level 1 and level 2 charging stations. Why pay a premium price for something that works in a premium way without the extra cost? You know how when you add a hose nozzle for watering plants or your car that has multiple settings that allows you to choose mist mode or jet or shower spray? Well think of this adapter in that sense--this allows you to charge at thousands of charging stations without worrying about if you're able to charge there. It is a highly likely yes that you can without any issue. The cool and reassuring thing that I like is the build in safety lock, because I've always worried about people yanking the cord in a general sense. The lock provides a bit of reassurance because it also lets people know that it's likely locked and shouldn't be touched. Overall a great addition to have in your trunk or frunk.

Easy charging
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very effective chargers available in the market. I tried this at multiple places on my Tesla model y and I could see this getting the desired charging result. At times I see charging slowly at various locations charges, including destination, chargers, and it works just perfectly and goes well with my car. This will allow the greatest fit flexibility for anyone who especially travels and needs mobile charging. on my Tesla I also tried reducing the charging speed down from 32 to 30 and it just works perfectly fine. It takes about six hours to fully charge my Tesla model Y from 30 to 90 percentage are use it every day at home as well as my office and for long travel destinations. This adapter also fits perfectly with my mobile charging unit provided by Tesla and any generic any charging stations, providing the best experience. I’m glad I received this product and I will continue to use this for my daily routine. In comparison to other adapters available in the market, I don’t I couldn’t find a big differentiator at this point, but I would certainly appreciate the company for the quality of the product.

A must to expand charging capabilities
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rexing continues to make life easier with charging solutions for Tesla drivers. The Rexing J1772 to Tesla adapter is a super convenient tool to have. It is an affordable adapter that will expand your charging capabilities. When you are in need of a charge, with no Tesla station in site, this adapter can save you time and from major headaches. I purchased my Tesla used, and the included adapter was missing when I got my car. So when the opportunity came up to get the Rexing adapter, I had to go for it. I should have gotten this adapter long ago. It really is so convenient to have it, as you are no longer bound by just the Tesla charge stations. I now keep this Rexing J1772 adapter and the Rexing CCS1 adapter in my car at all times. Another great thing about the Rexing adapter that I recommend everyone to do is to register your product online. Rexing offers 18 months of warranty on the adapters if you register them within 30 days of purchase. I did that almost immediately after receiving mine. This is definitely a great adapter to have. I would highly recommend the Rexing J1772 to Tesla adapter to anyone.

Very good for the price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a fast charger. This is just an adapter. With that being said, the connection of this adapter to any plug any station, is just what I need to feel more confident driving for longer distances. There aren't many charging stations in my area let alone Tesla charging stations so this widens by options and I won't have to worry about getting home to charge. I can't really say whether it charges at the same rate as a regular pump without the adapter, but it does charge faster than my home charger which is just a regular outlet adapter. It also comes off from the pump easy and with a quick wipe off is clean to the store back in your car fun until the next charge. I did not come with the storage bag and the warranty is about a year. The adapters made was in pretty durable plastic, which as long as you take care of it should last quite a while. The only thing that would probably be an issue would be the internal components like maybe the terminals would get dirty or bent. So again, make sure you take care of it so that I can last a long time for you.
