The Rexing R316 4K GPS WiFi dash cam is a good choice for drivers looking for a high-quality dash cam with a variety of features. It offers 4K resolution recording, built-in GPS, and WiFi connectivity. Over the years, I have owned multiple dash cams, none of which had the ability to record 4K video. The higher resolution not only enhances the overall viewing experience but also provides better dynamic range, which is crucial when attempting to decipher signs or license plates in saved footage. This feature proves exceptionally valuable, particularly in situations where clarity is paramount. Once I configured my personal preferences during the initial setup, it transitioned into a convenient auto accessory that requires minimal attention, allowing me to concentrate solely on the road without the distraction of technology. - Features - 4K Resolution Recording: Captures video in stunning 4K resolution at 30fps, providing clear and detailed footage. Double the resolution of standard HD. Built-in GPS: Tracks your location and speed, allowing you to review your driving route and speed data. WiFi Connectivity: Enables you to easily transfer files to your smartphone or tablet and remotely view the camera's live feed. 170-Degree Wide-Angle Lens: Captures an ultra wide field of view, ensuring that you capture all the important details. Night Vision Mode: Provides clear recording in low-light conditions, enhancing visibility at night or in dimly lit areas. Motion Detection: Automatically starts recording when motion is detected, ensuring that you capture important events. Loop Recording: Overwrites old footage when the memory card is full, ensuring that you always have the most recent footage. A welcome standard with current dash cams. Parking Mode: Records when the car is parked and turned off, providing security surveillance while you're away. (NOTE: Parking mode requires the unit to be hard wired). Another standout feature is the interior cabin camera. This camera provides a clear view of the vehicle's interior. The cabin camera is located on the front of the dash cam, pointing into the cabin, and clearly shows the full interior. This allows you to capture footage of the driver and passengers. The only problem with this, is the view out the back window is blown out considering the camera sensor doesn’t have enough dynamic range to compensate for both. For a clear view out of the back window, a dash cam with a dual or triple camera system will be required in most cases. That said, having the interior camera feature standard with this model is a great bonus. The cabin camera view can be used for a variety of purposes, such as: Monitoring the driver and/or passenger behavior. This is especially great for Uber or Lyft drivers. Recording evidence of accidents. Protecting yourself from false accusations. Keeping an eye on your children or pets. The Rexing R316 4K GPS WiFi Dash Cam cabin camera view is a valuable safety feature that can provide you with peace of mind. - Pros - - Excellent 4K video quality - Built-in GPS and WiFi connectivity - Wide-angle lens captures an ultra wide field of view - Night vision mode for clear recording in low-light conditions - Motion detection and loop recording - Interior cabin camera included - Parking mode (NOTE: Requires the unit to be hard wired) - Cons - - The buttons aren’t clearly labeled from the drivers viewing angle, which requires you to memorize their functions - Difficult to adjust the camera tilt and viewing angle - Overall - The Rexing R316 4K GPS WiFi dash cam is a great choice for drivers looking for a high-quality dash cam with a variety of features. It offers excellent 4K video quality, built-in GPS and WiFi connectivity, an interior camera standard with this model, and a wide range of other helpful features. To enhance the functionality of future dash cams, I would recommend that manufacturers incorporate ball mounts. This would allow for precise adjustment of the camera's tilt and angle, accommodating the slightly curved nature of most windshields. This would enable users to optimize the camera's field of view and ensure the capture of critical footage.

    Neat & Slim Dashcam

The R316 4K Wi-Fi dash cam from Rexing Is the most simple but yet capable camera you can mount on your dash. This comes with a detachable cabin camera that records 1080P. The camera is very well made and it features a small color screen display. I really liked the slim design. It also features a built-in Wi-Fi, motion detection, collision detection, parking mode and the suction cup mount has a built-in GPS. When it comes to installation Rexing is one of the most versatile I have used. You can install this dash cam in various ways, professionally with hard wire or use the cigarette lighter adapter. The best part is that all the installation kits are included. I like how easy it is to use suction cup mount, just find a spot then turn the GPS antenna to lock. The only downside is that it is limited to up and down motion, no swivel. I find that positioning the camera to the center is a bit hard due to that limitation so the camera is a bit off centered. The cabin camera is also easy to install by just simply attaching it to the dedicated port on the main camera and that's it. The camera comes with a 64GB memory card as well. The display on the main camera, you can see the live videos and also it is used to access the camera menu. It is not a touch screen you have to use the buttons located on the button of the camera. When it comes to video recording this camera does a good job. The main camera records at 4K and the cabin at 1080P. It records both, front and back at the same time. However when you access the video files they are recorded independently. The image quality is pretty good on both ends, front and back. However, I expected a better image quality as the videos looked a bit granny and the colors a bit washed for them to be 4K and 1080P. On both cameras the colors don’t look as vivid. When zooming in I noticed it was hard to read license plates too. They don’t look bad but they can be better. Even on the device display the colors don’t show as vivid. To access the video files you need to download the Rexing connect app. With the app you also have access to the camera menus as well. The app is not hard to use but I wish the UI was better. Also when I access the camera menu from the app the letters were the same color as the app background making them impossible to read. That can be an easy fix of course. Sometimes when downloading videos or photos to your mobile device the app tends to hang when trying to get back to the main menu. Overall I really like this dashcam despite the image quality is not bad but it could have been better. It does perform well and the ability to record from the front, the cabin and the option to add an additional rear camera can’t get any better. The slim design is one of the best as it doesn’t take much space from your windshield. It is simple to install and to use. In the box you get the dashcam, cabin cam, cigarette lighter adapter, hardwire installation kit, windshield mount, 2 side mounting tape, prying tool, 64GB SD card with adapter and manual.

Outstanding Dash Cam, Clear Video, Great Price

I recently purchased the Rexing R316 4K GPS WiFi Front and Cabin Dash Cam, and it has far exceeded my expectations! The 4K video quality is crystal clear, both for the front and cabin views, capturing every detail whether it's daytime or night. The GPS functionality is a great bonus, giving accurate location data which is incredibly useful for driving records. I also love the WiFi feature, which makes it super easy to transfer videos to my phone for quick reviews versus previous dashcams I have owned that required me to bring the SD card inside. Installation was a breeze with the suction cup, no more sticky tape on the windshield, and the device is compact enough not to obstruct the view. The dash cam provides peace of mind, knowing that every drive is being recorded with top-notch clarity and reliability. I highly recommend this dash cam to anyone looking for a high-quality, feature-packed camera at a reasonable price. Rexing has done it again with an amazing product!

The Rexing R316 is an impressive dash cam that works very well for my safety and security purposes. The 4K front facing camera is quite nice and crisp in its ability to record my daily driving with its 170 degrees of field of view. The cabin facing camera at 1080p resolution works very well with crisp video images and recordings. I've used this camera during daytime and nighttime hours and the video quality turns out pretty good. The front facing camera pointing toward the hood of the vehicle gives me some peace of mind knowing that my commute is being documented for safety and insurance purposes. The cabin facing camera is a nice feature for if/when I'm doing any ride sharing work and it helps to give me video documentation if needed. The visual display screen is a 3.16 IPS screen that looks clear and easy to view. I'm liking the dual band capability for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz data transfer to my smartphone when I want to review any of the footage or share it. This bundle camera comes with a 64GB micro SD card which will do the job for initial usage, but I'll be purchasing a larger size card for longer recordings. Loop recording gives you continuous recording without me having to manually fiddle with the camera or memory card. The G-Sensor for collision detection built in helps to record important footage in case of a crash, which should give some peace of mind for emergency situations. This is a battery free design for the Rexing R316, which means there isn't a lithium ion battery within. It only powers on with the provided power connectors. GPS logger built in allows for recording of your location and speed data which can then be reviewed at a later time if you are tracking your commute for various purposes. Downloading the Rexing app to pair with this is helpful and useful for retrieving video clips easily. The suction cup mount provided for this is much more preferred for my needs, instead of using an adhesive sticker. This suction cup mount is sturdy and stable for holding the camera in my set position. This camera bundle includes a Type C hardwire kit and also a Car Power Connecter which is 12ft in length. You have the option of using the hardwire kit for continual power at all times, which proves to be helpful should the vehicle get bumped or vandalized while parked and turned off. I like that I can choose which option I want to go with for my needs, but I prefer using the hardwire option in order to keep my camera "active" and available at all times even with the car turned off. I'll also add that I believe there is another camera that can be added to this bundle if you choose to add a rear view camera for your back window. A nice option to have in case you want to have full front and rear coverage. The buttons are located at the bottom of the camera body and take a little bit of getting used to. Overall a good camera in a fairly compact body. Easy to record your vehicle and fairly easy to install with the provided components. I had the R316 installed within about 30 minutes since I had to position and hide the wiring. Definitely recommend and it should be a DIY job for anyone that is good with tech.

    Good cam annoying registration

I love the form factor. I didn't see the dimensions when I ordered this, and it's smaller than I had anticipated. It was packed very well, and the out of box experience was simple and straightforward. I love the fact that it came with power both to hardwire it, and to use with the cigarette plug. I already have a dash cam, one built into my escort radar detector. So I’m still up in the air as to whether I’ll use this or not. I love having the option to run it for a few weeks without going through work of hardwiring at first in case I end up deciding to stick with just my radar detector unit. The included QR code made it easy to download the app, there's a code for either Apple or Android. The mounting bracket is nice, the little GPS antenna is what your rotate 45° to engage the suction cup. But it kind of makes it a pain when you’re placing it because it rotates up so when I was trying to get this as close to the headliner as I could, I actually had to move it farther down because rotating it up hit the headliner. The suction cup bracket has electronic pickups on it for when the camera is slid onto it, I assume that is what powers and sends data to and from the GPS unit on that mounting bracket. The bracket sticks well, and the adjustment for the camera is nicely done, easy to loosen and tilt the angle, and the steps for angle adjusting are small enough to be useful, not so big that it's hard to get it right where you want it. One odd thing - you have the option to change the wireless SSID and password - but you can't use more than 8 characters for the wireless key. I have a 10 key one I use for most of my wireless devices so this was a bit of a disappointment. But the good news was unlike so many other similar items, the app found the device right away. This is where it got a bit annoying though. I had hoped I could use the app to change settings, but you apparently can't. You can adjust the wireless settings. So that means almost all the things you need to do to tweak this how you want will have to be done via the little buttons on bottom and using the up/down/select buttons to move around the options on the screen. When it's up in place to the right of the mirror in my car, it's a pain, so I'll likely pull it down and make setting changes with it in my hand. But since it's USB powered, I may just bring it inside and plug it into a charger so I can go through all the options comfortably in a chair at a table or even on the couch, not sitting in the car trying to get it just how I want it. And I'm not a fan of how every time I hit the app, it started to record. I'm still trying to find if there's a setting for that to turn off. But for me, ultimately, even if I keep using this, I'd probably never use the app. If I wanted something off the card, I'd just eject it and pop it in my laptop to copy. And that's another bit of frustration, the card's insertion is SO deep within that the only way I can get the card inserted or ejected is with the tool they provided that can push it well below the surface of the plastic housing it goes into. A fingernail just was not enough. The view of the rear cabin really doesn’t work at all for my car because everything is so zoomed out and quite a wide angle. I was more interested in getting a view of the road behind me, but this absolutely won’t let that happen with my smaller rear window in my hatchback. This really is strictly for an in-cabin view. But since that's what it's designed for, I can't knock it. I DO like that the cabin module easily just pops off so if you aren't going to use it, you can remove it and save recording space just for the front camera. But it does give a really good view in the cabin, so this would work great for anyone doing things like driving services. They have two different USB ports on here which is nice. I know some people who have the older style USB hardwired. One of my earlier cars did, so I would’ve been able to use this without having to wire ANYTHING in that car. This one offers the older style and the USB-C, which I very much appreciate. ANY hardware nowadays that doesn’t incorporate a USB-C port is something I won't purchase. I've migrated all my hardware to USB C so I no longer have to deal with other cords. They did it right here, making sure it supported the most current USB plug format. I did some driving around to test it, and the picture is gorgeous. Of course, my radar detector also does 4k, so I'm used to that quality of a recording. But this one did better simply due to placement. My unfortunate layout in my current car that I purchased recently puts a stereo speaker dead center under the radar detector, so any recording, if there is music playing, has seriously distorted audio. This one, up towards the top of the window near the rearview mirror, had excellent sound recording and clarity. That alone may be enough to keep me using it despite having the radar detector one handy. The results on my freeway driving were just what I'd expect from this resolution. I was able to pause the video on my computer and could read license plates of cars that passed to either side of me, or the car in front of me if I was close enough for it to be legible to the camera. The field of view was just what you'd need, able to see well in front and to both sides, not quite 180 degrees (specs show 170 and I wouldn't argue with that based on what I saw). For people who want something for their own defense in different situations, this would work well. Now, I'm NOT a fan of the things they throw at you when you simply want to register the device. I wanted to register it for whatever the standard warranty is. But going to the website to do so I'm assailed with popups for joining some VIP club, getting exclusive free things, etc... You can close the one popup, but the main page is all about the VIP club. I don't want to join a VIP club, I just wanted to register the warranty. Apparently, you can't simply do that. I won't bother jumping through hoops just to get them my data since I'm already on more than enough spam lists. The registration issue and lack of better control in the app is about the only thing that lost a star here. The unit itself, the recordings, these things are very good. If you need a dash cam, this will definitely to the trick

I'm a huge fan of Rexing. I own quite a few of their products including some older dash cams and I love everything so far. As for this particular dash cam, it's awesome. Inside the box has everything you need to install a dashcam for your vehicle. You get the camera, 12v power cable, a kit to hardwire your cam directly to the fuse box for constant power. This will give you parking mode where the camera will come on if anyone hits it. Very useful if you live or work in a high density urban area. A micro SD card, which most dash cams don't come with btw. A bag of sticker clips that will help hold the cables underneath the steering column. And although a little thing but is really helpful, a clear plastic square sticker that you stick onto your windshield then mount the dashcam to that. This helps if you ever have to remove the dashcam. I had to buy this to put into my other vehicles. Rexing really put everything you need in this package. As for the camera itself, I truly love the simplicity. First off, the buttons are spread out and big enough to manipulate easily. Most dashcam buttons are tiny and hard to press when it's mounted on the windshield. Second, I really like the rectangular design. I can easily see both the front view and cabin view at the same time. Speaking of that, both cameras give a great view of everything outside and inside the vehicle. This camera also has gps capabilities which is great if you every need proof of anything. The app I really like. It is simple and straight forward. Not a lot of features that I won't use. The only time I will look at the recordings is if something happened and I want to be able to get straight to clips without navigating through a bunch of options. I can't recommend this dashcam more. It really has everything you need to DIY. If you're nervous, just watch a couple of videos that is online and you will see how easy it can be. Hardwiring it though can be tricky depending on the location of your fuse box. Other than that, a great camera.

The Rexing R316 stands out in the competitive dash cam market with a blend of high-resolution recording, advanced features, and user-friendly design. This dash cam offers comprehensive coverage with its dual-channel recording capabilities, capturing both the road ahead and the interior of your vehicle with impressive clarity. 4K and 1080p Recording At the heart of the Rexing R316 is its dual-camera setup. The front camera records in stunning 4K resolution, which provides crystal-clear footage that captures every detail of the road. Whether you're driving through bright sunlight or dimly lit streets, the high resolution ensures that key moments are preserved with clarity. The cabin camera, recording in 1080p, complements this by capturing the interior with decent resolution, making it ideal for monitoring passengers or documenting events inside the vehicle. Advanced Night Vision One of the standout features is its advanced night vision capabilities. The front camera’s enhanced night vision ensures that even in low-light conditions, your footage remains clear. The cabin camera benefits from infrared (IR) night vision, making it particularly effective at recording inside the vehicle in complete darkness. User Experience and Connectivity The Rexing R316 comes equipped with a 3.16" IPS screen that offers a sharp, interactive interface for navigating settings and reviewing footage. The inclusion of dual-band Wi-Fi and the Rexing Connect app significantly enhances user convenience. The dual-band Wi-Fi enables fast and stable connections, while the app allows for seamless video transfer and management directly from your smartphone or tablet. Installation and Mounting The dash cam is easily installed using the included suction cup mount, which also features an integrated GPS module. This module is crucial for precise location tracking and adds an extra layer of detail to your recordings, allowing you to review routes with a map view on compatible playback software. The included smart hardwire kit ensures that the dash cam remains powered continuously, making it ideal for activating the 24-hour parking mode. 24-Hour Parking Mode and G-Sensor The Rexing R316’s parking mode provides added security by activating recording when motion or impact is detected around your parked vehicle. This feature is particularly valuable for capturing potential incidents while your car is unattended. Additionally, the built-in G-sensor automatically detects collisions and locks the current video to prevent it from being overwritten, ensuring critical footage is preserved. Storage and Loop Recording The dash cam comes with a 64GB MicroSD card, which offers ample storage for your recordings. The loop recording feature means that when the memory card reaches capacity, the oldest files are overwritten by new footage, ensuring continuous recording without manual intervention. For those needing additional storage, the R316 supports up to 256GB microSD cards (sold separately), accommodating extensive recording needs. Conclusion The Rexing R316 4K GPS WiFi Front & Cabin Dash Cam is a well-rounded and feature-rich option for those seeking reliable and high-quality vehicle surveillance. Its high-resolution recording, enhanced night vision, and smart connectivity make it a strong contender in its category. Whether you’re looking to enhance your driving security or simply want to keep a detailed record of your journeys, the R316 delivers robust performance and practical features that cater to a wide range of needs

I previously had a Rexing Dash Cam in my other vehicle, which I was thoroughly impressed with, especially due to its voice activation feature. Given my positive experience, I decided to go with another Rexing for my new vehicle. After some careful research, I opted for the Rexing R316-2 Dual Dash Cam, and it has exceeded my expectations, particularly considering its price point. The installation process was surprisingly simple and straightforward, which was a major relief. I was concerned about dealing with complex setup instructions, but fortunately, that wasn’t an issue here. The R316-2’s dual-channel capability is a standout feature, capturing both the front and cabin views simultaneously. This comprehensive coverage ensures that no detail is missed, offering me complete peace of mind as every angle around my vehicle is recorded. The video quality is exceptional. The front camera records in 4K resolution, while the cabin camera operates at 1080p. This combination delivers remarkably clear footage, making it easy to read license plates and street signs, even in low-light conditions. The clarity is impressive and adds significant value to the dash cam’s performance. Another feature I find incredibly useful is the dual-band Wi-Fi functionality, which pairs seamlessly with the Rexing Connect app. This integration allows for easy transfer and management of video files directly from my phone, whether I’m using iOS or Android. It’s a convenient way to access and review footage on the go. The GPS-enabled suction cup mount is another highlight. It ensures that the dash cam remains securely in place and provides precise location tracking. This is particularly useful for analyzing travel data and reviewing routes. The included 32GB Micro SD card is a nice addition, but I’m especially pleased that the camera supports up to 256GB, offering ample storage for extended recording sessions. The advanced parking mode is another significant benefit. It provides 24-hour surveillance of the vehicle, utilizing motion and impact detection technology to monitor activity even when the car is parked. This added layer of security is reassuring and enhances overall protection. In summary, I’m extremely satisfied with the Rexing R316-2 Dual Dash Cam. It delivers reliable security features and high-quality performance at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their vehicle’s safety and get comprehensive video coverage.

I'm slowly becoming a dash cam expert with this Rexing R316 now being my 4th in half as many years. While they keep improving, I feel they still have a long way to go. First lets start with what comes in the box. This bundle comes with everything you need to get going, even a MicroSD card and hard wire kit, although it does also come with a 12v adapter, which is perfect for super easy setup or when you want to be able to easily move the dash cam between vehicles. Setup is easy and straightforward as well. The camera itself just attaches to a suction cup to your windshield with the only real adjustment needed being the angle thats manually set by loosening the thumb screw. Then once you've got power, which takes seconds when using the 12v plug, a little longer if you have to route and connect the hard wire kit, the camera turns on and if you have a new SD card, like the one that is included, it will tell you to format it. Formatting takes less than a minute and it's ready to go, you don't even have to download the Rexing app. With the camera on I went through all the menu settings and options and found that it was pretty much defaulted where I wanted it straight out of the box. I did mess up navigating though as the button controls aren't very intuitive, I ended up either accidentally turning off video recording or switching views. Most of that I'll attribute to being a new user with this dash cam but it still wasn't beginner friendly. After all that the final adjustment I made was the cabin camera which lets you manually adjust the vertical position. I did download the Rexing app as well and connected with the camera, but as I've found with most dash cam apps, they're not all that useful, and the Rexing one even less so as it doesn't allow you to manage the cameras various settings. The main thing it's good for is getting footage and downloading clips you might want or need. Personally though, I find it easier and quicker to just manually pull the sd card and pull footage directly from it with my laptop. Speaking of that footage, the dash cam saves them as .ts files. I haven't dealt with that file type before so I had to do a little research on it, mainly because I'm a software developer and know .ts files to mean typescript, so every time I tried to open a video file my laptop kept trying to open it in my code editing software. Now for the important part, how well does it work and how good is the video quality. This is my first actual 4K dash cam and upon first playback of a video clip I noticed a couple things immediately, first was the video was a bit choppy. I don't know if this is a camera limitation or the sd card not being able to be written to fast enough, but it is the sd card Rexing included so I'd assume they'd make sure it could handle the camera's requirements. The other thing I noticed is the colors are a bit flat. To get a true feel for the quality though, I actually recorded a portion of one of my drives with this Rexing dash cam, my previous full HD only dash cam, and my phone. I then downloaded the footage from each, and compared the clips all next to each other. My older full HD dash cam was way more vibrant in color, but things like the grassy fields on the side of the road were blurry, although the video was smooth. This Rexing 4K dash cam, while the colors didn't pop as much, the quality was definitely noticeable. The same grassy fields and things like the emblems on the cars were more crisp and clear. You could easily tell a difference in resolution. But again, the video playback itself was just choppy. Neither dash cam really compared to my phone though. Obviously using a phone as a dash cam isn't practical, but it goes to show that a camera being 4K does not make it equal. To really see the difference I froze the clips at the exact same moment when there was a car ahead of me by about 10 yards or so. This gave me a perfect view of their license plate. With my older full HD dash cam I couldn't make out a single character on the plate. While this Rexing 4K was better, the characters were still blurry and I could maybe make out one or two characters, but there was no way I could make out the full license plate. Whereas the phone recording the entire license plate was easily readable. That's the front camera, now how about the cabin camera? Unlike the front, the cabin camera only records at 1080p. The quality is still decent though and the angle it captures is wide enough to get just about every bit of the cabin of my crew cab truck. I could also easily see what was going on outside the windows, even with mine being tinted. While the cabin camera doesn't have as much clear detail like the 4K front, it didn't suffer from the same choppiness that the front produced. With both front and cabin cameras I also want to mention the audio. At least in this regard, this Rexing is much better than every dash cam I've had before. All my older ones had horrible audio. Everything was always loud and just not pleasant to listen to. This Rexing at least captures more normal sounding audio. I even feel like I could use clips from the cabin camera in some of the online video content I produce, whereas I could never even consider it with my older cameras. Last thing i want to mention is just the overall feel and quality of the cam. While I like the design and overall look, the feel of it just doesn't scream quality. The plastic button controls feel cheap and the unit is light, but not in a good way. When you pick it up it almost feels like there's not much substance to it and not much inside. I know there's no battery, which I like since they can cause the camera to overheat easier, but it doesn't give me a lot of confidence in its durability. That said, it's price point is reasonable so if you're looking for something more affordable and just need a dash cam that works, this will do the job just fine. Just don't expect the 4K dash cam to look like a 4K tv.

This is my second Rexing dashcam and the R316 is proving to be a nice upgrade from my older model. As others are noting in their reviews, the biggest, most appreciated improvement is the suction-cup mount. It’s so nice to not have to be married to the (permanent) placement of the previous “cemented on” method. That being said, I live in Las Vegas and it will be interesting to see how the suction cup holds up to the intense heat we experience here. I park my car in a garage, so hopefully that will help. Possibly because of already having set up a Rexing camera in the past, setting up this one seemed just as easy. I have an Android phone and did not experience any issues with connecting the camera to the Rexing app on my phone. The only thing I noticed, that was a bit of an issue, is with the settings page in the app. I attached a screenshot of the settings page, but you can see that the text color of the menu items are very hard to see. I don’t remember this being an issue when setting up the previous camera, so perhaps this happened during an app update. The video quality of the front-facing camera is excellent. It has a very wide view and captures excellent details of everything on the road. The GPS feature is also a nice touch and can provide very useful information, like location and your speed. (That could also work against you if you tend to have a heavy foot.) I also appreciate the g-sensor feature and having video files automatically locked from being deleted, in case of an accident. I hope I don’t need to see how useful that feature is. One feature that I have yet to be able to test is parking mode. This will monitor for motion or impact while your car is parked, and records if necessary. In order for this to work, the camera needs to be wired to your car’s fuse box using the included smart hardware kit. This is something I intend on having done professionally. Overall, the Rexing R316 is a great, reliable dashcam for a decent price.

My car has an excellent on-board dashcam system and the video is stored on a flash drive connected to the USB port. The only problem is, the dashcam won’t store the video if I had to use the same USB port for something else. So, the simplest solution is to have a third-party dashcam installed. The Rexing R316 is a feature-packed dashcam including wifi video transfer and GPS logging. The product comes with everything you need to start using the dashcam. The quality of the video is 4K for the front facing camera and 1080P for the rear facing camera. Installation is easy. The suction cup is sturdy and steady. You can power the dashcam by hardwiring or connecting it to the 12V power outlet in your car. Once installed, the dashcam will operate automatically. There’s no need to regularly delete the footage filling up the included memory card. Operating the dashcam is also easy, there’s a set of buttons down on the bottom of the device. The Wifi is off by default. The default Wifi password is easy to guess so it’s always a good idea to turn the Wifi off if there’s no need to use it. Video footage can be accessed by connecting the dashcam to your phone via wifi. Video quality even at night-time is good. I can easily read the license plate of the car in front of me in the footage. Like: Easy to install Packed with features Comes with micro SD-Card Video transfer is easy Don’t like: Default wifi password is easy to guess.

I've been using Dashcams for well over 10 years (Rexing and ROAV), and I decided it was time for an upgrade. As with all these devices, the trick is getting a good installation particularly if you want the wiring to be hidden (no one wants wires dangling down to the cigarette lighter). What I liked about purchasing this unit is that you get the option for Best Buy to do the install. If you want to use parking mode and don't have a cigarette lighter that provides continuous power when the engine is off, then get it installed professionally. The extras that you get that others might not include - memory PLUS the hard wire kit. I appreciated that because with many others you either do not have the hard kit option or it costs extra. Out of the box I noticed it has the usual suction mount with a USB-C cable connection at the TOP of the unit. So clearly it's meant to be mounted high about where the rear vision mirror is so you can run the cable straight up through the roof of the car (just ensure during install that the mirror does not obstruct the cabin view camera). The power cable ends in a cigarette lighter adapter and they warn about trying to use other power sources such as the cars inbuilt USB which may not have enough power. I measured the draw at 4W max, mainly for the battery is my guess. The unit does have a cap battery to probably gracefully power down when power is lost amongst other things. The image quality is excellent and you get both front view in 4K hi-def and CABIN in a slightly lower resolution. I believe there is an option for a rear view camera if you need it - they're a good idea but a little more challenging in getting power to them. The biggest test with any camera is can they capture the license plates of vehicles - yes and no depending upon distance, lighting conditions, etc. No camera is perfect, but at least with this high resolution you have the best chance of getting the detail you need. The WiFi connection is nice - 5Ghz so you get snappy video performance with the app you can download. I did have some issues with the Rexing Connect app though - it's just a little rough around the edges, but they have a Community setup so you can share those near miss or accident videos and that looks like it can be a lot of fun. I tried sending myself some videos, and found I would get two texts in my inbox everyone time I sent myself one video. Plus the trim and edit did not inject the audio overlay that I selected. So they need to improve the app a little which at Nov 2024 has not been updated for 6 months now (v1.4.7). A few other things I liked/disliked - 1. The GPS tracking it built into the suction mount. Not sure I'm crazy about that, but at least you can buy replacement mounts on their web site for $29.99. 2. The unit connects to the suction mount via a slide on connector which is VERY difficult to disconnect. Probably a good thing so it doesn't fall off while driving, but that means if ever you want to service it for whatever reason you're going to be removing the unit via the suction mount. Which leads me to ... 3. Suction mounts - I hate them. In all my other units I end up using sticky velcro fasteners to attach the units to the windshield. That way they stick in hot and cold weather (the biggest problem), and I can remove and re-attach them when needed. 4. The cabin camera can be physically disconnected from the camera if you do not want to use that feature. I thought that was pretty cool. (do I really want people to see my facial expressions when I am involved in an accident?) By default, you get clips in 1 min intervals - this can be reconfigured to as long as 3 mins. It does have an IR mode for night time. Overall, a very nice unit for the price and hard to beat. Rexing also has great support vs buying from a foreign company with limited to no support locally.

I installed the Rexing R316 dash cam in my F250. Installation directions were clear and the included kit made the hookup clean and professional looking. Camera is working as it is supposed to. The screen is very small and if I have to make adjustments, I disconnect it and hold it in my hands. Having such a small footprint, it tucks in nicely behind my windscreen rear view mirror and is hardly noticeable from outside the vehicle. A bit of a learning curve for setup and retrieval of files but easily worked thru. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit. I have two vehicles and bought one for each.

I’ve been using the Rexing R316 4K Dash Camera for a very short while but I’m already really impressed. The 4K front camera is very clear and you can make out details like license plates. The cabin camera works well for monitoring the inside of the car. I haven't tested the G-sensor (thankfully) but it's good to know that it automatically protects footage during impacts. Installation was a breeze, and the compact design doesn’t block my view. Overall, for the price, the R316 gives great value with both front and interior coverage.

I’ve been using the Rexing R316 for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed! The 4K front camera delivers super clear footage, and the rear 1080p camera captures everything behind me perfectly. Installation was simple, and the camera’s low-profile design doesn’t obstruct my view. The GPS is handy for tracking trips, and the Wi-Fi feature makes it easy to transfer videos to my phone. It works great at night, too, with clear nighttime recording. The parking mode gives me extra peace of mind when my car is parked. Overall, it's a solid, reliable dash cam with all the features I need!

This dash cam is a game-changer! The 4k video quality is crystal clear day/night, making it perfect for capturing any potential accidents or incidents on the road (or parked). The installation process was a breeze, and the included accessories made it a seamless experience. As an Uber driver, I'm particularly impressed with the cabin camera. It's a fantastic safety measure that can deter unruly passengers and provide crucial evidence if needed. This dash cam is not only a great investment for any driver but an essential tool for those who rely on their vehicle for work. I've been a loyal Rexing customer for years, and my previous dash cam from the brand has served me exceptionally well. Its reliability and clear video quality have always impressed me. However, as an Uber driver, I realized the need for an additional layer of protection. The ability to monitor the interior cabin became crucial, especially in situations involving challenging passengers. While my old Rexing dash cam was fantastic, I decided to upgrade to a model with a cabin camera, ensuring that I stayed with a brand I trust. This new Rexing dash cam has exceeded my expectations, offering not only superior video quality but also the peace of mind that comes with having a reliable and comprehensive safety solution both outside my car, and inside.

The Rexing R316 4K Dash Cam is one of Rexing’s latest dash cameras on the market. It features higher than 4K + 1080P cabin recording simultaneously and app/Wi-Fi integration. Considering the features and price tag, this appears to be a good value on paper but image quality leaves something to be desired considering its advertised 4K specs. In Th Box: - Rexing R316 Dash Cam - 64GB Micro SD Card - 12V Car Power Cord (12ft) - Suction Cup Mount with GPS - Cable Management - USB- C Smart Hardwire Kit - User Manual - Electrostatic Sticker Setup: Setting up the R316 is like most other dash cameras I have used in the past. The great thing about this kit is it comes with literally everything you need to be up and running. You have two options for powering the camera, 12V outlet or hardware kit. Both are included in the kit. If you choose to use the hardware kit, you can hook up an extra wire for constant power to use the parking mode functionality. Once you power up the camera with the SD card inserted, it will prompt you to format it before first use. Once this is done, you are ready to go. Inside your vehicle you must place the suction cup in the center of the windshield and slide the camera into place and plug the USB C cable into the camera itself. The camera mount has a very small screw to adjust the angle of the camera for your window. The adjustments are very coarse and there is a significant angle change with one adjustment. Mine car really needed a spot in between two different spaces to make it film exactly straight out the front but this will differ by vehicle. Usage: I ran the camera at its default settings of 4K + 1080P for my testing but a secondary setting of 2.5K + 1080P can be used as well. After reviewing the footage on my computer of my first drive a few things stand out. 1. The file is a .ts file which is something I haven’t seen before. This doesn’t provide the frame rate of the video but based on what I am seeing the front (main) camera is shooting at a low frame rate. This is likely 24 FPS which translates into choppy looking video while moving. This is only worse at higher speeds. 2. The interior camera is rated at 1080p and has a more suitable frame rate (likely 30 fps) but lacks some color to the image. Overall, the interior camera quality is more in line with what I would expect from a cabin camera at this resolution. 3. The microphone quality is pretty good. It seems to pick up fairly low audio levels (mumbling, or low volume music). After evaluating the footage, the main camera quality is disappointing based on the specifications. The frame rate is too low which causes the video to be choppy. The resolution and bit rate seem decent, but they don’t seem better than some 2K or 1600P cameras I have used in the past, all things considered. You can’t read license plates, road signs, or other small wording moving easily. They likely create this file type, bit rate, frame rate, etc. to save memory on the SD card. In one 20-minute session driving around the SD card had right at 5GB of space taken up. App: The app seems to work fine. It has all the basic functions including camera settings, recording on/off, and you can access previous files on the SD card. Final Thoughts: The Rexing R316 seems like a great camera on paper with 4K + 1080P recording. It has several pros including coming with all the necessary hardware to get the camera functioning but the camera mount adjustability and video quality from the front camera leave more to be desired. If this is your first dash cam, it might be impressive. If this isn’t your first camera, it might be a disappointing upgrade. Likes: - Kit includes EVERYTHING - USB-C Powered - Menu Easy to Navigate Dislikes: - Front Camera Frame Rate/Image Quality - Camera Mount Adjustability (Tilt Increments Coarse)

I have been a Rexing customer for over 10 years, and this time it’s a very nice upgrade from my old dash cam. Let’s see what’s better: • Well-designed, removable dash camera that is easy to use. • Outstanding 4K resolution and 1080p performance. • 3rd camera option (rear) – you can upgrade from 2 channels to 3 channels. • New USB Type-C cable. • 2nd camera that records video and audio inside the vehicle (a great tool for Uber and Lyft drivers, just in case of incidents). • Includes a 64 GB micro SD memory card. • Cigarette charger or smart hardware wire – Hard wiring kit connects to the car battery to run 24/7. • WiFi connectivity to your cell phone. • Built-in GPS feature records the vehicle’s speed, location, and route to video files, providing evidence of any incidents.

Feature Packed 4K Dash Cam with GPS!

The Rexing R316 4K Dash Cam with Wi-Fi & GPS is a very capable and fully featured cam. To begin, packaging was excellent and just about everything you need is included in the box. You do get a 128GB Micro SD Card. The memory can reach 256MG with an upgraded card. Everything was packaged safely and neatly boxed. I laid out all materials before I began installation and read through the instructions carefully. I recommend giving yourself at least a 1/2 day to get this installed so you can take your time and not rush it. Installation is pretty straight forward, but takes time with running the wires and connecting the devices. The unit itself is dual band Wi-Fi and works on both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz. That is a great feature of this unit. The front camera has a resolution of 4K and I found the picture to be clear and concise. Colors were pretty accurate, and even in low light conditions, I could just about everything clearly. The only thing that can be taught to see is roadsigns and license plates that are not clearly lit up. I expected that though. One feature I love about this unit, that I hope I never have to use, is the "Collision Detection". The unit instantly detects a collision and locks the footage and prevents it from being erased or overwritten. For my son's car which this is installed in, that gave me a great piece of mind. Again, I hope we never have to use the feature but I am happy it is there. Another awesome feature of this Rexing unit is the built in GPS. It accurately tracks your vehicle and tracks its speed and location. Again, for installing this in my son's car, this is super helpful for tracking him and his speed. Being able to record what is going on inside the cabin was a super important feature for obvious reasons, especially when the car is being driven by a young adult or teenager. I'm glad my son knows that everything is being recorded! Then to know the rear is being monitored as well makes this a triple winner. Overall I am super happy with the unit and its function. The 24/7 "Parking Monitor" makes it a home run. In terms of features and build design, this is a great unit. Whether you get the 2 channel unit or the 3 channel unit, it is a feature packed dash cam. In the end, it's a no brainer. Truly a must for any vehicle on the road today.
