Another great product by Rexing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera replaces another Rexing camera that I've been using for the last 4 years or so. This camera is excellent... The quality is good enough to easily read other vehicles' license plates while moving at 55mph. Screen size is good, with a bright, clear display. Recorded videos definitely transfer to my mobile device quickly with the Wi-Fi feature, which is definitely a plus. I really appreciate having the integrated GPS as well as the night vision/infrared for the cameras. Hope to never have to employ the G-sensor, but it provides a certain peace of mind knowing it's there. It's great that this includes a "cigarette lighter plug" and also the smart-hardwire kit, giving me the option of which install to use. Bottom line: I would definitely recommend this camera!

Good not great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dashcam do front and cabin recording and is capable for adding a rear camera, it has a port to connect a rear camera. Front records at 4K while cabin records at 1080p. As for video quality, I can see license plate clearly 1 car length away not more. Cabin camera is very clear but seems to have the IR switched on all the time even at day time, hence the color of the video is off. It is powered by a usb type c port. Mounting it is very easy as it is using suction cup, easy to move between vehicle too. It includes a 64GB microSD card, smart hard wire kit and car power adapter. The smart hard wire kit only cut off when battery is 11.8V or below and no way select a different voltage. I prefer one that allow me to select the cut off voltage as I feel 11.8V is too low for my car. The wifi support 2.4GHz and 5GHz and I have success connecting using the 2.4GHz, not sure why my phone cannot find the 5GHz access point when I enable the 5GHz wifi on the dashcam. This dashcam can control using Rexing Connect app but it is not necessary. It is not using a built-in battery so it can have wide working temperature range, from 20F to 176F. I guess it is using a capacitor as temporary power storage. It has a 3.16" super wide screen so front and cabin view can displayed side by side. If you just want it to display single view, the video is widened to fit the width making everything look fat. It has built in GPS so it can record your speed. On top of that, it allows adjusting date and time of the dashcam automatically. However, there is no way to turn off the GPS or speed tracking. I find that the speedometer is pretty accurate. Only thing missing is that it has no voice command, I can't say "keep video" or "take a picture". I had to press and hold the 3rd button to keep a video. The button is not shaped or sized or colored differently so after a while you won't remember which button to press.

Outstanding Camera!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with this camera so far. I now have a Rexing dash camera in each of the four vehicles in my household, the oldest of which is six years old. All have functioned flawlessly and perform well. This one is a nice upgrade from previous models with the adhesive mount. Not only is the suction mount easier to attach and remove, but the shape of the camera also helps the screen to remain visible without blocking my line of sight. I have it positioned just to the right (passenger side) of my rear view mirror, and it is easy to glance over to see that the camera is recording. I have been using it with the cabin-facing camera (blocked in the picture to protect my privacy. The split-screen shows the forward-facing view on the left and the cabin-facing view on the right. The controls (buttons on the bottom of the body of the camera) are more straightforward to use than those in previous Rexing models. I appreciate having an SD card included and the hardwire kit in case I decide to hardwire the camera to my car. Overall, this is an excellent evolution of an already great series of cameras.

Easy Install
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm always worried about how hard the install will be - running wires around and trying to hide them. This was super easy. It took me 5 minutes from unboxing to having it on with cords hidden. Another few minutes to go through the setup menus. The trickiest part was the diagram showing how to install the micro sd was backwards for my camera, but still worked after some fidgeting with it. The sd card didn't work right away, but the screen prompted me to format the card and it works great now. I did not do the hard wiring to the fuse box for the parking monitoring though. I'm not sure I'll ever do that. I'm too nervous about messing up the car's electronics.

Well.....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had never heard of Rexing before receiving the Rexing R316 4K GPS Wi-Fi with Front and Cabin cams, so I was excited about trying it out. One of the greatest aspects of product competition is that manufacturers are constantly trying to offer bigger and better options to buyers in order to gain their business. And that was what I was expecting as I tested out the Rexing, bigger and better. The dash cam comes neatly and efficiently packed into a nice compact box. I loved that there wasn’t an excessive amount of plastic, and for the most part, the box is completely biodegradable. That is a huge plus for me. The box contains the front facing dash cam, a removable cabin cam, a hardwire kit, a USB-C cable with pigtail power cord, windshield mount, and all the typical literature…User Manual, Warranty Information, Contact Information, etc, and much to my joy, it also comes with a memory card. This was another huge plus! Thank you Rexing for keeping me from having to hunt high and low for a spare memory card and a possible trip to the store! After unpacking everything, the next step was to download the Rexing Connect app. The app is used for connecting the dash cam to wi-fi. This is where I started running into obstacles. According to the app, once you turn wi-fi on (on the dash cam) a screen will appear showing the SSID and Password. This did not happen. Instead I got to a screen stating that wi-fi not found. I went to settings on my phone, found the Rexing, but when attempting to connect this way, I was prompted for the Rexing password. I was attempting to do this from the car. So being unsuccessful, I took the Rexing inside and was going to try and connect. No success there either. Whenever I turned on wi-fi, the dash cam powered down. This happened every single time. Well, okay, maybe I don’t really want to connect to wi-fi anyway… Overlooking the wi-fi issue (which included several searches for a solution on the internet), I decided to use the dash cam without wi-fi. This was a plus for the R316 as it is as simple as mounting it to the included suction mount and plugging in the power source. Once plugged in, the camera powers up, and a quick push of a button and it begins to record. For some reason, Rexing decided to put the USB-C power port on top of the camera rather than the bottom, or even the side. I don’t like leaving the camera plugged in once I get home or work, so I unplug it. The topside power port is a little awkward when unplugging the unit. The display screen is nice, albeit a bit small, especially when using the rear-facing cabin cam, and the display screen splits in half…one half for the front-facing cam, and the other half for the rear-facing cam. I like the cabin-facing cam as I can see where folks who might be carrying passengers, such as Uber drivers, would find this extremely useful in case something happened. The R316 display stays on, but the screen-saver function can be accessed via the menu options. Now, since I’ve mentioned the menu options, I found that navigating the options absolutely should not be done while you are driving. Yes, I know there are those who will try it anyway, but because of the amount of attention one will need to devote to scrolling through the three different screens of options, this should not be done while driving. That’s about all I need to say about that. Once the unit is powered on, it begins recording automatically. Once you learn the location, a quick push of the “OK” button will toggle the recording function on or off. After three days of recording, I decided I wanted to review the recorded contents. Because I was unable to connect the unit via wi-fi, I was limited to viewing recording using the onboard menu. This was a frightful ordeal. Rexing decided to use an extremely long video identification label, meaning that each clip name takes up so much space that it is almost impossible to figure out exactly which clip you want to access, especially when speaking in terms of several days’ worth of recordings. This is where I really wished the camera would have been able to connect to wi-fi so that I could at least review the recordings using a much larger phone screen. All in all, my experience with the Rexing R316 has not been good. The inability to connect to wi-fi, the constant powering down when attempting to turn wi-fi on when connected to a power source inside my house, along with the other issues, I find I have a hard time trying to recommend the R316 to anyone looking for a decent dash cam. It could very well be that my experience is unique (which I hope is the case) and that the camera has a defect or two that’s keeping this particular unit from functioning as it should, I don’t know. But like I said, my experience has not the best.

Rexing R316 Excellent Front/Cabin/Rear Camera
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th Rexing dash camera. First one I bought in 2017, I am still using it in my wife's car, and never had any issues with it. Second one I bought in 2019 for my dad's birthday, and he is still very happy with it. Third one I bought in 2019 for my friend on his birthday, we installed it together, he is still using it, and also very happy with it. This one I bought for my new car. I installed it myself a few days ago, and the whole process was simple and easy. I tested, and been able to use it thus far without any problems what so ever. This dash camera is the most features packed and advanced one. I like that there is a choice for either a hardwiring or USB-C wire installation. I greatly appreciate the ability to connect to the camera via wi-fi, and transfer photos and videos quickly. It has great field of view (170 degrees), video quality from front, rear, and cabin cameras are of great quality any time of the day, it has Automatic Incident Detection with GPS build-in, and it even comes with a memory card included. You just have to install it once, set it up, and it will keep running automatically, so you can forget about it. It records in loops, and it has videos accessible any time you need them either via wi-fi, via memory card (removable), or you can just watch them on the camera's screen. Great dash camera, and I highly recommend it.

It's OK but nothing special
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Rexing R316 4K GPS WiFi Front & Cabin Cam is a good dashcam. However, it really isn't anything super special, especially considering its price. The box it comes in is nice and solid and its packaging is fine. It's not likely to be damaged in shipping. Taking the unit out of the box, my first impression was it is very light weight and plasticky. It doesn't feel durable. The camera that records inside the cabin is a separate piece so you don't have to use it. It just sort of pushes in place. There is no click or any indication that it's on properly. Again, it just feels a little flimsy. I've had similar cameras in the past where the cabin camera can rotate. This one is fixed. Installation is easy enough. In this box is the main camera, the cabin camera, a wire that can power from a fuse box, a wire to connect to a cigarette lighter outlet, a 64 gb memory card, some clips for running the wires and some paperwork - including a quick installation guide and a QR code for downloading the app. It also comes with a tool to help run wire under trim. This was very helpful. I connected it to the lighter outlet in my armrest. I wish there was an option to connect to a USB C port. I use my lighter for a USB charger but have a couple USB C ports available in my car. The suction cup on the mount works well. I wish the mount offered some sort of left-right swivel adjustment. It only allows for forward and back adjustment. If you mount it towards the side of your windshield, you’ll get more of a view to the side of the road if your windshield has a heavy curve to it. The cam is not huge but it’s also not inconspicuous. I prefer something a little more inconspicuous. I’m guessing the size has more to do with the display which is easy to read. There are a lot of settings but they are mostly logical… Mostly. The buttons have a nice clicky feel to them and are easy enough to use. It took me a little while to figure out how to turn on WiFi so I could use the app. (Note: you have to turn WiFi on in the camera settings every time you want to use the app). I wish the connection to the camera was Bluetooth instead of WiFi. The WiFi connection interferes with the wireless CarPlay adapter that I have. To connect to the camera, I have to disconnect wireless CarPlay. Bluetooth would correct this issue and make it so you didn’t need to fiddle with the hardware every time you wanted to connect the app. Speaking of the App... it is clean and very simple. It basically allows you to see recordings and photos on the camera and take them on command as well. You can also set some camera menu items through the app. I wish you could set all of them but you can only do some. Example: Date and time cannot be set in the app, only on the camera. As for the camera itself, it’s OK. The images and videos are a bit grainy and similar to most of the other dashcams I’ve used. I cannot read license plate numbers on passing vehicles. The nighttime videos are the same. Nothing special. Shadowed areas are fairly dark. Well-lit areas are grainy. There is an option for a rear facing camera but this kit did not come with that. Would I recommend this camera to friends? Probably not. Like I said, it’s good but nothing special other than the WiFi connection… which takes some effort to use. Most people I know wouldn’t want to deal with that effort. While I’ll probably use this for a little while because I have it set up already, I don’t see this DashCam as my permanent solution.

Excellent upgrade from the previous model
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought R316 GPS model and I am very happy with it. Here are my thoughts. Video Quality: The video quality is impressive. It records in 4K, providing sharp and clear footage both during the day and at night. Even in low-light conditions, the night vision feature performs well, capturing important details like license plates and road signs. There is a bit of glare when the sun is too bright, but overall, the picture clarity is excellent. Features and Functionality: The feature I like most is G-sensor, Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS tracking. The Wi-Fi feature makes it easy to review footage on my phone without having to remove the SD card. The loop recording ensures I never run out of storage, automatically overwriting old footage. The G-sensor is responsive and quickly locks the video when a collision is detected. I have tested it and it quite is responsive as it records any suspicious activity while the car is parked. Pros: Excellent video quality Easy installation and setup Useful features like G-sensor and Wi-fi connectivity Cons: A little bit difficult to adjust the angle of camera Occasional lag when using the app

Great for your teenaged driver!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another great Rexing dash cam. I have a Rexing dash cam in both of my cars and picked up the latest model to put in my 16 year old daughter's first car. With her being a new driver I am very worried about, well... everything. This dash cam gives me piece of mind. The hard wire kit is great, I installed it for my daughter and don't have to worry about one of her friends unplugging the dash cam to charge their phone. The modularity that the inward facing camera allows is perfect. I don't see myself as a "helicopter parent", but having a dash cam that not only records what is happening in front of the car, but also in the cabin gives me great piece of mind. The GPS is also exactly what I was looking for in a dash cam. I rest easy knowing that I can periodically review my daughters driving habits without too much hassle. As a bonus, the included SD card made this purchase a no brainer. I highly recommend for anyone looking to pickup their first dashcam or to give to their teenage driver!

Best Dashcam I have ever had
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned 7-8 dash cams over the years and this is by far the best one I have had. In addition to the extensive capabilities and features that are well described on the product page, I love everything about the actual experience of using it (which has not always been great with some of my prior dash cams, including a couple of Rexing products in the past). WHAT I LIKE: * DIRECTIONS: The directions for installation and usage are outstanding compared to most electronics these days and compared to other dash cams I have had in the past. They cover everything including installation, features, all usage directions, registration, warranty, phone connection via wifi. Very impressed. This is a weak point for most products I have bought lately and Rexing really stands out with this dash cam. * VIDEO/IMAGE QUALITY: The 4k video with 30 frames per second is outstanding quality for both front facing and cabin facing camera. Both have an exceptionally wide field of view so they capture everything in front of the vehicle as well as within the cabin. I mounted mine well to the right on the passenger side, but it still picks up the driver very well -- impressive. * HIGH QUALITY PHONE APP: If you choose to connect to the camera over wifi via the phone app (e.g., to access/download videos, review videos, modify settings, etc.), it is very easy to do and the phone app (mine was iPhone, but I assume the Android is comparable) is self explanatory and lots of nice features. * MOUNTING: They have replaced the old double-sided tape mounting with suction cup mounting which is nice. They also provide a clear mount film that you can first apply to your windshield (static cling) and then mount the suction cup to that for greater security and strength. This worked great and makes it easier to change your mount point or move between vehicles in the future. The suction cup is high quality and holds very well. I mounted mine on the passenger side to the right of my EZPass transponder so it is not in my direct field of view, but it still pics up everything in front and within the cabin. * DUAL RECORDING WITH SOUND: The camera records both front view and cabin view at the same time to separate video files. All video files can be time stamped with date/time (which are set automatically). Sounds recording can be enabled/disabled with the touch of a button. Videos can be "locked" to avoid overwriting (e.g., if there is something you need to save and make sure you don't lose) with the touch of a button. * SETTINGS MANAGED VIA PHONE OR DEVICE MENU: The various device settings can be set via the phone app over wifi or directly on the device using the menu system. * MICRO SSD CARD INCLUDED: The device comes with a 64GB SSD card which is great. So many of these required you to buy it separately even though it is required. With it included, you can start using the device immediately without any extra effort or expense. * DETACHABLE CABIN CAM: The back facing cabin cam can be easily detached if you choose not to use it (e.g., a passenger is not comfortable being recorded). Just slide it off and put it in your glove box. * EASY WIRING: The product comes with both a 12ft car power connector and a hardwire kit so you can do whichever you choose -- no cheaping out by just giving you one options. I used the car power adapter (so I can easily move between vehicles), but kept the hardwire kit in case I decide to direct connect later. The wiring of my Subaru Forester was super easy with the 12ft cord. I only had to pull one trim piece (right A beam that runs down the windshield) and drop down the glove box (like when you access the cabin air filter) in order to hide all wiring all the way to the power socket in the front console. Only took about 15-20 minutes to wire it up perfectly. I ended up with about 2 extra feet of wire that I bundled up and hid behind the glove box wiring area. * EXTENSIBLE TO REAR CAMERA: There is a connection to connect in a rear camera (not the cabin camera, this is another camera at the back of the car -- not included in my kit). I don't need one, but for those who do, it is possible to buy a rear facing camera and connect it to this device. * LOTS OF OPTIONS FOR VIDEO REVIEW: You can review videos on the device itself, on a connect phone over wifi, by connecting to the device over USB-C connections, or by using the MicroSSD adapter to plug the video card directly into your computer so you can see large scale video of the super high quality 4k video. Love it. SUMMARY: I am super pleased with this dash cam after having many dash cams in the past that had numerous shortcomings. I cannot think of one drawback to this device. It meets or exceeds my needs and expectations in every area.

I'm so glad I got to use it!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I visited my brother in Florida and borrowed his car to tour the area. He has a Rexing R316 dashcam installed in his car and I was so impressed with the setup and features. The cam has 4K front video and 1080p cabin video which are both super sharp on a generous size screen. The GPS provided excellent tracking while driving and the WIFI connection was great to connect to the app on my phone. I'm so happy that I was able to interact with the unit instead of relying on Internet searches and reviews. I purchased it and installed easily and without any problems. Get this cam now and don't waste your time looking for one. The quality and price are superior with all the features that it has. You have to see it to believe it.

Rexing Dash Cams Are The Best!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th dash cam from Rexing. I have to say, i have had a few accidents and none have been my fault. I have had insurance call me skating that I was at fault. I pulled out the footage, sent it to a laywer and with the clear footage from Rexing Dash Cams have saved every single case. This new R316 is easy to install, has amazing features such as the availability to remove the camera that records the camera by easily detaching it in seconds. The suction cup is better than the old 3M tape that gave you one chance of installing it onto the windshield. The footage is clear and easily downloaded onto the app and can easily be shared to social media platforms! I 100% trust Rexing Dash cams and urge anyone who is interested in purchasing a dash cam to do so.
